It is a shame. I actually used to go there BEFORE coming here. They had some cool stuff there. Oh well. That sucks.

Does this mean the Internet Bubble has burst yet ?

1) BKW is back to averaging around 2000 uniques per day. If you have a small website that amount may sound pretty good but after 3 years w/ 5 new articles a week it's really not so hot.

He's going to wonder wtf now that he's been linked on Fark.
2002-09-06 03:20:45 PM
Great site...we will miss you
2002-09-06 03:20:45 PM
Now if this could only happen to NewsMax.....
2002-09-06 03:22:25 PM
And if it weren't for this link, I'd never have known it existed.
2002-09-06 03:26:07 PM
Ok, who wants their link space on my front page?
2002-09-06 03:30:26 PM
I will miss brassknuckles website. one less site...FOR ME TO POOP ON!
2002-09-06 03:31:47 PM
that is a damn shame. I liked BKW. And he's the only one that's ever linked to my crappy page, too.

Of course, it'd be really funny if he just did this as a publicity stunt to try to get lots more readers, heheh.
2002-09-06 03:31:52 PM
2,000 uniques a day? yesh.. no wonder he closed it down.. too much work for too little exposure.. if he couldn't grow the traffic past that in three years, something was wrong with either his content or his search engine optimization.. people don't just visit your site out of thin air, they have to know it exists somehow..
2002-09-06 03:38:09 PM
Oh well, there goes my stock.
2002-09-06 03:43:43 PM
I'll take it mofo.

BKW was the very first site to link to my site, thanks John.
2002-09-06 03:46:31 PM
Sadly, I left after A. finding Fark; and, B. he kept confusing me with what he was trying to do with the site. Had some good discussions/flames going on for a while in his forum.

Ahh, but the thing that drew me initially was his great story for Diablo II The Necromancer Diary. Good reading.
2002-09-06 03:48:58 PM
Hey MOFO, I am on your link page...not your main page. I have to NOW take BK off my main I will have room *wink wink*
2002-09-06 03:49:44 PM
Nice one Sweater Girl. I can see it tomorrow, "Due to a sudden increase in popularity, Brassnuckles will continue publishing"
2002-09-06 04:09:17 PM
i will greatly mourn the passing of this, another website, which I have never visited.
2002-09-06 04:19:46 PM
If only this internet bubble would STOP bursting...
2002-09-06 05:13:35 PM
My site gets ~1000 uniques a day for the past 7 years. Transfering 20GB per month and Ive never earned a penny from it. I plan to run this site until my dying day. Too bad not enough webmasters have a passion for sharing the information on their particular site. Everybody is out for a buck.
2002-09-06 05:35:12 PM
Sublime, although a cool band, I dont think he is out for a buck or too. Some people dont have the time they used to, and im sure his is the same.
2002-09-06 05:40:41 PM
DAMNit! i really like that site. i discovered it before i ever came here, and it was because of his hilarious diablo 2 fanfic, which i have printed out and distributed to other diablo-playing friends.

before it goes offline, you guys should all be sure to check out the ICQ pranks, which will make you pee yourselves.

i'm very bummed.
2002-09-06 05:53:31 PM
sorry I didnt mean to be bitter although I came off like that. Need to get off work and get some beers down !!!
2002-09-06 06:46:06 PM
the webmaster interviews are good too. Drew is interviewed.
2002-09-06 07:23:46 PM
2002-09-06 08:01:44 PM
I stopped going there after the forums died off... ahh those were the days.
2002-09-06 09:10:21 PM
well, if the site was there just to make money, then I'm glad its gone. When are people going to learn.... the INTERNET is NOT a place to make money. It's a marketing tool, not a money making tool. DREW knows it, he just has trouble believing it ain't going to change.
2002-09-06 09:27:33 PM
"the INTERNET is NOT a place to make money."

somebody better hurry up and tell the billionares over at eBay about this fact.
2002-09-06 09:28:05 PM
He closed his site because his traffic was decreasing, while his other site which he is NOT shutting down, has seen an increase in popularity. I doubt he gets much money from this site, if any, nor do i think that he cares about that. Some things are just not worth the time and effort.
2002-09-06 11:11:46 PM
Geez first that satire site, then brass knucks, next SEANBABY stops updating, soon 665 will run out of numbers...its the end of the internet!
2002-09-07 02:18:54 AM
Bah, Right Wing News is funnier and smarter. Its obvious which one John prefers... and he is a much better political humour writer than he is at video game humour. Makes sense to me, Good luck to him and i will continue to read right wing news every morning!

Damn it Drew there goes another paying customer!
