Old people are cool.

Youth is wasted on the young.

I saw Kool & the Gang a couple years ago in Chicago. They were great!

Hey, it's Kool and Gang, we don't wanna fark your shiat up. We just gonna call our people and have 'em bring us in, that's all.

Music still has a beat you can dance to. It just no longer has a soul you can listen to.

Kool and the Gang are awesome. If everyone was as nice, cool, and funky as them the universe would have evolved into a ball of highly evolved hyperdense funk energy.

I just got a copy of Kool & The Gang "Best Of 1969-1976". Great single CD compilation.

Everything after 76 or so is disco and pop, so it's a great comp for people who don't know about the funk stuff they did aside from "Jungle Boogie" from Pulp Fiction.

"Celebration" is not a reflection of their best work. They cashed in on Disco and went pop, but they were insanely funky before that.

libbyshome: Old people are cool.

I'd rather be around old people than any other people on earth.

I was in Target today with a co-worker, and I was getting angsty about loud kids [though I did almost see a baby carriage crash into a display, which almost made me laugh my ass off...] and he asked what I think of old people.

I LOVE old people.
Old people farking rock.
They will tell you what they think.
They won't censor themselves.
They're old; they earned that right.
The only sad thing about befriending old people is your friends die all too soon.

Go back and listen to "Tonight" or "Misled" again. When they wanted to, they rocked harder than most hair bands.

And that really crap song whose title is a woman's name; that was the very definition of suckage.

Plus in the video - and this shows what a bad impression this song left on me- has him crooning to a woman who looks to be 20 years older than him and she's dancing around, looking really smug that she's got a guy who looks twenty years younger than her all steamed up.

Kool and the Gang, Earth Wind and Fire, The Gap Band, The Ohio Players, etc... Good stuff.

Do any of you Farkers have any recommendations as far as current stuff I might like?

Ooh, shame on me I forgot the O'Jays.
