good stuff, good times

2002-09-06 05:01:15 AM
I took my kid out when he was 7 to show him what a real gun can do to a tuna can. He's treated them with respect ever since. He's dead on at 50 yards w/ a .22 but he doesn't touch it unless I'm around. Just like girls or alcohol or anything else, if you yell "It's bad" w/ no evidence or explanation, they're gonna get curious about what's the big deal. I gave him a shot of scotch when he was 10, he wants nothing to do with alcohol anymore. Just trying to figure out what to do about the girl thing...

hey pollo, dont get too discurraged (yeah i cant spell) not everyone here reads your posts wrong, or mocks dead kids.

2002-09-06 05:05:42 AM
isn't it funny that a couple of cops can kill a kid with a bb-gun that 'came to the church seeking help.' but a whole police force and swat team can stand outside of Columbine High and wait for the finale.

2002-09-06 05:08:21 AM
woohoo hurtcow. its about time some people teach kids about guns at an early age. you will never hear of your son accidently shooting his best friend in the news. i say again, people underestimate kids. they are very intelligent, just ignorant. teach them and they will learn

2002-09-06 05:09:32 AM
Sounds like a legit shoot to me. Approaching from the back is standard practice, since you don't want the suspect to know where you are to shoot you faster.

2002-09-06 05:28:32 AM
you can hump in a church and get a ticket, but bring a bb-gun and...

2002-09-06 05:33:31 AM
Wow, Bluefrogprice, it took almost two hours for somebody to post the required, but clueless, "The cops a bad bad man for shooting somebody who was pointing a gun at him" post.

Now pat yourself on the back, and get back to your "Mumia Abu-Jamal!" rally.

Police had been called earlier by Montoya's mother, who told them she and her 3-year-old child had fled their home after Montoya pointed a BB gun at her and threatened her, Arbogast said.

About an hour later, police received a call from the church about a teenager with a gun. Arbogast said the officers did not know it was the same boy involved in the earlier threats.

2002-09-06 05:57:48 AM
The officer that shot the kid must be going through hell right now

from the frequency which they do it, albq. cops don't seem to mind killing.

2002-09-06 06:30:39 AM
Xoxotl : Actually it was the required "The cop's a bad bad man for apparently (and I admit that this is a guess based solely on the wording in the article) shooting a kid he knew to be holding a gun who turned around when ordered to do so".

Not to mention that the cops knew there was a kid running around with a BB gun:
- 1st call "Hey police, there's a teenager who threatened his mum with a BB gun running around in [neighbourhood]"
- 2nd call, 1 hour later "Hey police, there's a teenager threatening people with a gun in our church in [neighbourhood]"

Gee, I'm sure there's no way the cops could have put two and two together there... Cops aer smrat.

2002-09-06 07:26:00 AM
yes the cops fooked up. BUT it's one less church person on the planet. Average Intelligence of the general population has risen due to this fact.

Kudos to Pollo here, for being a rare voice of compassion in these pages. It's those little things that give one hope for humanity.

2002-09-06 08:47:44 AM
Hey BlueFrogPrince. Were you there? Did you hear them say drop the gun and turnaround? Or did they just say turnaround? Did they have him surrounded? I'm just curious because you seem to have all the facts from an article that was probably rushed to get out and not investigated. Did the mother really tell them it was a BB-Gun or did the reporter put that in knowing "now" that it was a BB-Gun. Didn't sound like the Neighbors who he tried to rob knew. I'm not laying blame on anyone because, like all of you, I wasn't there and I refuse to take some half-ass reporter's word for it.

"i pooped my pants", Arbogast said.
Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said, Arbogast said.

redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant, redundant.

jeez... you'd think if they were going to quote someone, they would at LEAST have the foresight to find someone with a name that doesn't sound like a bowel problem.

Police had been called earlier by Montoya's mother, who told them she and her 3-year-old child had fled their home after Montoya pointed a BB gun at her and threatened her, Arbogast said.

Officers went to the home, where neighbors told them Montoya had entered their homes, threatened them with a gun and left.

About an hour later, police received a call from the church about a teenager with a gun. Arbogast said the officers did not know it was the same boy involved in the earlier threats.

The cops farked up. The officers at the church should have known of the earlier incident. Doesn't say whether they were the same cops at the house, but if they weren't, their superiors should have put two and two together.

Without that earlier incident, I'd say, yes, cops were completely justified. With it, well, seems a like a fark up.

2002-09-06 09:28:03 AM
Cops don't always have the time to hold committee meetings to get all possible info before they go into a potentially hazardous situation. Get over it- that is just how life is. You have to sometimes take irreversible action based on incomplete info. The most important fact is that this kid whirled around with a pistol-looking object in his hand. I hope cops shoot people who do that. They put their lives on the line every day, and to expect them to give a potential cop-killer a couple freebie shots is completely unreasonable.

2002-09-06 09:42:44 AM
"His mindset is really unclear," Arbogast said. "We're trying to understand why he did what he did."

D.R.U.G.S.
Glad I could clear that up for you. :-P

2002-09-06 10:01:12 AM
Dougie_The_Timeclock : Come back when you learn to read - specially the part where I specifically said: "I admit that this is a guess based solely on the wording in the article".

And Spredilleto : Care to enlighten us as to the basis of your assumption that "This kid would have grown up and probably robbed, killed or raped countless people.", you retarded intolerant redneck four-eyed piece-of-shiat c0cksucking dogfarker?

BTW, if you want to insult someone, you should really learn English first.

2002-09-06 10:02:10 AM
What would be really great is if the samurai sword welding dude came into the church, the call to the police was put out, the samurai came around to the kid, he took out his BB gun and the cops came in and shot them both.

Churches are dangerous places kids.

2002-09-06 10:26:19 AM
*gives standing ovation to Akula*

2002-09-06 10:30:29 AM
Spredilleto : Sorry for resorting to childish name-calling. Thanks for not continuing it.

I'd still say your assumption that he would grow up to be a menace is unjustly harsh - for all we know he could have turned out to be the next Shakespeare or something - but you're as entitled to your opinion as I am to mine.

I've got nothing against removing the dregs, but only where they're proven to be dregs. I'd really like to know more about the circumstances of the shooting. If the cops gave him a chance to drop the weapon and he didn't, fair play to them.

Like Dougie said, we weren't there so we don't know. I just find it strange that people are willing to congratulate the cops without knowing the circumstances, but not willing to question their actions. Why assume that cops are always right?

2002-09-06 10:31:19 AM
That's the last thing spredbydildo's ever gonna see.

2002-09-06 10:33:13 AM
THat and my smiling face. Inbred pig humper (I still have that purty picture of your she male wife).

2002-09-06 10:35:37 AM
Someone should've gunned down your worthless ass when you were still a youngun just crawling out of the egg sack.

2002-09-06 10:43:53 AM
If you're a cop, and you have a gun pointed directly at you, and you give someone a "chance to drop the weapon" you might as well be telling them "pull the trigger...I'll let you get a free shot in."

If it's not pointed directly at you, that's different...tell them to drop it & hope they listen. But if that weapon is pointed right at you...that cop had better be pulling his trigger as fast as he can to beat the gunman to it.

2002-09-06 10:46:08 AM
Spredbydildo: the formative years. He spent his youth molesting chickens (and getting the bone form old grandpappy). Found true love at the trough (they both bit down on the same melon rind and the rest is history).

Unfortunatly, there was no cold steel barrel of hot police justice to cure this disease cobra-style. And now look at him. A golf playing pig farking walking talking ego driven ass clown. Maybe Atlanta's finest will cap him while he's going for his fat wallet. Some would call it murder. Me n' Spred call it preventative maintenance.

2002-09-06 10:46:51 AM
Ahh, further proof that natural selection is still hard at work.

2002-09-06 10:49:06 AM
Yeah, I'd like that cop to naturally select which barrel of my shotgun he'd like to eat first.

2002-09-06 10:51:53 AM
Oh, sorry officer. I thought my 12 gauge double barrel was a BB gun. Excuse me for evening up the odds.

Better you than me, so sayeth Ice T.

2002-09-06 10:55:15 AM
Trigger happy redneck pigs.

2002-09-06 11:02:29 AM
Dear Bigbob,

If you are a troll, congratulations. If you are not a troll, start feeling sorry for yourself. No one wants to hear you make idle threats from behind an alias thousands of miles away.

Oh, I'm sorry, was that YOUR son they shot? If so, maybe you should teach your child not to point weapons at officers of the law.

Sincerely,

Every Farker.

Prayer/Bullets....I guess both will get the demon outta you.

2002-09-06 11:21:07 AM
"possessed by demons and wanted prayer and needed help,"

prayer wasn't going to help this kid. a realization that demons aren't real and some brain chemicals, in the form of anti-depressants/anti-psychotics, would.

we have to feel pity for all those involved, the cop, the kid, and the parents. this kid was obviously screwed up in the head, and all the prayer in the world wasn't going to help him. it's good to know that the kid knew something was wrong with him, and he tried to get help. unfortunately, he should have gone to a doctor not a priest.

2002-09-06 11:59:56 AM
stupid kid. that's what you get for going to church.

2002-09-06 12:19:51 PM
When I was about 18, I had a BB gun that looked almost -exactly- like a Glock 19. One day - the very first time - I walked around with it outside after having been in a fight the day before, the police actually stopped me and asked me what was under my trenchcoat. (Dammit, I was trenchcoat before they were cool.)

I'm not a dumbass. I held my hands palms out, and said it was a BB gun. I didn't lie, I didn't give any shiat, and I only even -thought- about showing them the thing after they asked. They looked, told me it looked real, and let me keep it if I told them I'd never walk around with it again. No problems from me. I'm glad they let me keep it. No idea where it might be now though. I think I gave it to a friend who was dumb enough to get shot.

2002-09-06 12:54:36 PM
i wonder if some fancy less-than-lethal weapon would have been more appropriate on the cops part. suicide by cop is becoming alot more common these days. and cops don't have to oblige by killing everyone who asks for it anymore.

2002-09-06 01:08:43 PM
and we'll never know what this kid saw in his demon-possessed hallucinations.

2002-09-06 01:16:21 PM
cool hand luke??

2002-09-06 01:25:33 PM
Seems to me that the people who think others are being insensitive fail to remember that we are all entitled to our opinion. If you don't agree, then do it logically, calling one 'insensitive', hurling insults and disfiguring pics only makes YOU look childish, not your target. Adults can admit that each side has a valid point, children want their way only and fark you if you disagree. So for the kids, try a little maturity and you'll see better results.

As for the 'insensitive':Some feel 'play with fire, get burned and point a gun at a cop = deathwish' are the truth, which is a valid point. What, can one not have their own feelings and express them? For all those who are so 'concerned', if you were in a church and ANYONE with a gun came in, would you want the officer to ask if the gun was real? Once the kid heard the 'Drop the weapon!', he shoulda dropped it. He'd still be living and you still would've ignored him and gone on about your lives, just as we all do. But MENSA boy POINTS it at the cop, and got taken out in the process. As I said earlier, don't raise a weapon and unless you are going to use it.

He did something stupid, played with the gun, and got quickly ventilated.

Euglina_x,

The less-lethal stuff is very exspensive, especially for large departments that have to equipment to many cops. By the time you add in the several hours of required training, that is a lot of $$$$. Less-lethal also has a LOT of limitations, particulary limited range. Plus, it takes quite a bit of time to get it on scene and in to position. If the officers were going to a call of a person with a gun inside an occupied church, they did not want to wait the extra time for less-lethal. If they waited too long, they could of ended up with another Columbine.

Old Man Murray has a kick-ass strategy guide for SWAT 3. My favorite item:

Announcing to an armed suspect "Hands up! Police!" is foolish. You might as well point to your neck and shout, "You there! Shoot me!"

2002-09-06 02:19:37 PM
Well, I think the woman who prayed with him might be at fault. Hell, if I was praying with a KID who has a BB gun, I'd of grabbed the gun and kicked him in the shin instead of saying his last rights with him. I mean shiat. "Ok kid, we're done praying now..go outside with your gun cause my husband called the cops." Think about it. Yes, the kid was troubled. Big farking deal. There's TONS of stories across the grand Ole U S of A where the cops are standing vigil with some madman with a AK47 for days, only to arrest him after negotiations. I highly doubt these cops just drove up and started walking up to the door without taking cover and assessing the situation. Get behind the car, wall, van, etc.... Assess and determine. I think the cops AND the kid were wrong. Typical behavior these days...it's all bullshiat. We can't blame the cops and we can't blame the kid..must be the farking music, video games, parenting, friends or drugs. Sad story...no reason to argue about it, it'll happen again in about 23.5 minutes.

2002-09-06 11:43:23 PM
Darwin yes... but it sounds more like "Suicide By Cop". Either way; at least they got the little wanker before he breed more of his kind. Cleaning the gene pool should be done regularly.

2002-09-07 01:17:09 AM
which brings us to gun control...

"You will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee"

2002-09-07 04:43:08 PM
Sad story... But can't help but not feel sorry for the kid. The real victim in this is the cop who had to shoot this misguided individual. I can't imagine three days off work to think about how just doing your job, and protecting yourself ends in the needless death of a child. I know this cop will be in my prayers.
