I liked the first one. Overall it was pretty wholesome and entertaining.

And the chick gets 15 million for it.
Why can't she stick to decent movies like Election?

Reese Witherspoon may be a good actress for all I know. I can't think of a single good movie that she has been in besides "Best Laid Plans." Who talks her in to doing these crap films?

Of course I like any movie which makes reference to eating asparagas and running a test to see if your pee smells different.

it does.

Not that I'm German or Japanese.

She's gotta support Ryan's coke habit

Well, I am a bit german -- but I don't have any of the usual scat tendancies.

I think we should have televised fights between retards and/or handicapped people. Fox would probably be the first to pick it up.

I'd hit it.

Wow. That was my first "I'd hit it". I feel so... lame.

2002-09-05 03:42:49 AM

I'd tap it.

And not just because she looks like a little girl. I mean, that is what my asian fetish takes care of.

She needs a spanking.

Legally Blonde was amusing enough for what it was.

Now as for the roots of Miss Witherspoon's career...I feel the inborn need to bring up the bane of her existence, Fear.

Boy was that a royal load of crap.

She starred in Freeway, which was a super cool movie.

I don't think I could stomach this crap however...

2002-09-05 04:24:38 AM
well I wouldn't say broke anymore (though they where a few years ago)
GROSS PROFITS (NYSE)
FOX $619,000,000
MGM $71,962,000
VIA $2,479,700,000(4Viacoms listed assuming this has parmount)

The rest of the studios are even more farked up in who owns the so whatever... I would pretty much ignore Viacom since there is SO much other stuff in company

MGM's a mere shadow of what it once was, which is sad considering its rich history. It has been bought and sold many times since the 60's. It has been in the hands of people like Kirk Kirkorian and even Ted Turner at one point, who bought the studio to get the rights to its vast film library. The company really only exists in name only. MGM no longer owns the famous studio facilities in Culver City, which are now the Sony Studios. It pretty much just distributes motion pictures. The fortunes of the company turned around recently with hits like "Hannibal" but it suffered through a string of duds earlier this year like "Windtalkers" and "Rollerblade" and now the company is in trouble again. It has a lot riding on the upcoming James Bond film.

I would hate to see MGM go under, but man I hate that "Legally Blonde" crap.

I know her name from TV movie credits years ago when she were a little girl. Some names stick out. Reese Witherspoon. Jack Noseworthy. Bullwinkle.

She was great in "The Man in the Moon".

"Elle Woods' character embodies hope, determination and optimism," says Platt, "qualities that resonate with everyone.

I can't believe it, I mean it just a stupid character in a script and they make quotes like the character is some sorta benevolent role model.

Oh.. and I would hit it, she from Texas, ya know...

Legally Blonde was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Why dont the start giving more money for films like Waiting for Guffman 2 and Best in Show 2 or any other films with that EXACT SAME CAST! Those movies are funny... Legally Blonde sucks ass.

2002-09-05 08:06:10 AM
I kinda liked the first movie. It was cute..

Between Legally Blonde 2 and the reality Beverly Hillbillies, the President should declare Hollywood a disaster area.

2002-09-05 09:35:38 AM
Noooooooooo! I was forced to watch the first one three times! *Starts gouging eyeballs out*

2002-09-05 09:43:36 AM
Is this a good thing, a bad thing, or just the 5 sign of the Apocolypse....

2002-09-05 09:50:45 AM
I'm not usually one for chick flicks...but I thought Legally Blonde was fairly entertaining. I dunno, maybe you need to have a sense of humor to enjoy it.

Is anyone else as sick of the farking Hollywood out of ideas tagline as I am?! Does the hipocritical nature of the situation not occcur to Farkers when they submit this headline with a joke that has been used verbatem hundreds of times? Hey genius! You're submitting an article to critique Hollywood, (which makes huge cash investments in each new movie), for reusing an idea, yet you don't think it's worth the risk of thinking of your own farking headline, lest you risk the horror of your link--gasp--not making it to Fark?

Legally Blonder? Legallier Blonde? Legallier Blonder? Legally Blonde 2: Electric Boogaloo?

Agreed Flignir. How about:

Hollywood Has An Idea: Milk The Hell Out of a Lame Premise Because Idiots Will Flock To It. Announcing Legally Blonde 2: Hot Poon Feedbag.

Now that would be funny, BigFarkingDeal.

she was in fear, pleasentvill, crule intentions (the best)
I think shes a good actress, shes very smart, and a good mother. legaly blonde was a really cute movie, but then.... I'm like a blonde!

Hey guys, here's a clue: Hollywood is in business to...wait for it...MAKE MONEY. Waiting for Guffman and Best in show made little money, much like most (Big fat wedding not withstanding) independently done movies that everybody seems to want but nobody goes to see. Legally Blonde, on the other hand, didn't just make money...It made a FARKLOAD of money! The problem isn't with the studios, not at all...the problem is with the people that go see the movies.

2002-09-05 03:32:00 PM
Worst use of the horrendously cliche "Hollywood is out of ideas" tag ever.

According to imdb:

Budget for Legally Blonde was $18M.

Opening weekend gross was $20.3M.

Total US gross was $95M, with around another $9M approximately in the UK.

If you were running a studio that was damn near bankrupt, wouldn't YOU go back to an idea that got you more than five times the return on your investment?
