A Cook County jury ordered Blinov to shell out $4,802 last week after he was sued by a husband from a Chicago suburb for stealing the affections of the man's wife.

She must have been pretty hideous...

"German was not a pirate of her affections," attorney Enrico Mirabelli said. "Her affections were already adrift."

And here's the reason this guy's shelling out ~4,000 bucks... He hired a wannabe poet who spends more time on god-awful metaphors than putting together what should be a slam-dunk defense.

/can we say melodrama anyone?

How awesome... you can sue for an affair.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who finds this sentence both stupid and funny simultaneously.

Always a dangerous game, inviting someone into your bedroom. Not everyone can handle it.

A few years ago, I ran into a former co-worker and she asked me if I wanted to nail her while her husband watched... (their first time also, or so she said)

I said no, because that's just not my thing... and I also figured there was a pretty decent chance of it just blowing up in my face.

But, she was ridiculously hot, and so now and again I kind of regret having said no.

I think I'll print this story and save it for those occasions.

technicolor-misfit

In that case it probably wouldnt have blown up for you, maybe for them but if you dont see them often, you can just walk away (they made the mistake for their relationship not you)

but who knows how those things can work out

Jkay: Always a dangerous game, inviting someone into your bedroom. Not everyone can handle it.

Absolutely. I invited this hot chick into my bedroom once and it turned out more horribly than you could possibly imagine. She started making babies and we ended up with four kids! The horror!!

/yes, the people in the article were stoopid
//like you said Jkay, they were just asking for trouble

Ya know, I'm not even going to read that article. I have a friend who did the same thing but the other way around. She let her hubby to sleep with another woman because she wanted to add a little spice. It was more like he was constantly on the make and she thought she could control the situation. She was sweet, pretty smart, but naive. It did indeed add spice, at least until he and the other woman announced that He was leaving her for the other woman because He'd knocked her up. The funny part came when he found out that she was indeed pregnant but by yet another man with whom she'd been sleeping during the entire debacle. Oh, did I mention that this other man was her cousin?

/Small Town, just outside of Ft. Rucker in AL. (Mother Rucker to those who know her well)
//early 80's about the time Fast times at ridgemont high hit cable
///She looked so much like Phoebe and I couldn't understand why he'd leave her for anyone. (The friend not the skank)
////No, we never did anything, not even once. it'd be agin da code. (code = married+friend= Don't Touch!) If I'd been around after the divorce that would have been a different thing. Probably would have gotten turned down but hey nothing ventured...
//She divorced hubby, sued girl for alienation of affection. Don't know how that worked out as we moved back up to Fayettenam and Ft Bragg. Only got a couple of letters after that from her, mostly about finishing school etc. She never talked about the ex hubby or the skank.

In Japan, if you catch and document your spouse cheating, you can persue damages from his or her respective families if ya really want to go that far.

Not sure how true it is...

It's probably an unpopular viewpoint but I'm actually in favor of laws like this and of all those archaic adultery laws.

My reasoning for it is this:

1) Marriage is a legal contract.
2) Part of that contract is exclusivity.
3) If you break a contract, you ought to be penalized (lol).
4) Right now, if it's the woman that does it she gets the house, the kids and alimony.

I think if you don't like that - then it's simple, Don't get married! And hell, even if you screwed up and got married when you shouldn't - Divorce isn't illegal, or hard to obtain in this country (At least not when I see signs for 500 dollar no-fault divorces on the freeway).

I think it'd probably be good for society. Marriage is definately not for everyone, and if these laws were being prosecuted then maybe less people who shouldn't get married would. And if someone did get married by mistake, then they would hopefully be more likely to seek out a divorce than an extra-marital affair (which is probably going to lead to divorce anyway, but just with a lot more of that yummy scrumtious drama for you, your family and any kids you have to enjoy!)

I know, like I said... probably an unpopular viewpoint but it does kind of make some sense, huh?

/Oddly enough - happily married

HAHA!!! I wonder how many bastards you can sue with this law (UT still allows this) My soon to be ex was giving ass away like a madwoman while we were together, hell I'm sure she gave it away more after I took my shiat and bailed. Divorce is expensive, I could use a few bucks to cover the cost. And as petty as it sounds it would be nice to see a couple of these shiatbirds take some responsibility. God forbid I see any on the street........

2007-07-02 07:31:51 AM
In my opinion, marriage while is a contractual obligation does not imply ownership. Once the terms of the contract are negated, the whole contract is in crisis. There is always more to the story, sue over a lost love.... grow the hell up.

2007-07-02 07:41:18 AM
This same thing happened to me, the circumstances differed only in that I did it so my ex could get pregnant. She got pregnant alright, 6 weeks after she left me for the other guy. I wish I knew if my state had this law!

con800: God forbid I see any on the street........

Let it go man and thank your lucky stars the whore is gone. I've been there and no matter how satisfying it is to kick the crap out of someone like that, the bills get expensive. I had to pay more than 5g after lawyer fees and probation costs in addition to having my record marked (problem getting a job) with a violent offense.

/IMHO Alienation of Affection laws should also include jail time.
//This kind of behavior leads to violence.

I'll vote with TwistedFark here, and go one further and propose adultery be made a felony. It's shiat like this that is eroding respect for the rule of law in this country.

2007-07-02 09:42:18 AM
So, she leaves her husband because he asked her to sleep with another guy; but then she falls for a guy that sleeps with other (and often married) women. Ooooh, she's a smart one! Obviously the other guy has a bigger wang our deeper pockets.

Good Idea! However I think that we can take it a step farther and say that if a woman is an adultress...she dishoners the family and should be ruthlessly hunted down. What a crazy way of thinking that would be!?! I'll bet that they would even think of something stupid to call is to sound less harsh...hey an "honor" killing fits the bill.

Since the county can't enforce such a law we would have to get religion to take over the govermnent and sidestep the whole "freedom" thing.

...but then again what am I thinking? That could NEVER happen could it?

It's his own fault for wanting her to do it. So many women have a difficult time seperating sex with emotion. I would have seen that coming a mile away.
