Octopuses/Octopi/Octopodes -pick whichever you want to use- are scary. If they lived longer than a couple of years they might have beaten us to sentience.

/yeah, no evidence to support this hypothesis

You're lucky no mods are monitoring this thread. They tore my ass up hardcore when I did what you just did.

/may have just jinxed you

The funny thing about that picture, EMPulse_of_KC is that post is certainly not first. By way of the wires, it is in fact a second or subsequent element of the fence.

Actually, the post is using a unique feature of it's species which allows it to seem like it is just another post in the row when it is in fact the first. Using these techniques it avoids capture by would-be predators and boobies dodgers.

Meh, only half of those were camouflage, and they even skipped the first of the mimic's observed shape-hifting (it can look one one of 'em flat fishes... I forget their names).

This is actually some pretty cool stuff to see and learn about, if you're of the nerd mindset, like I'm sure many Farkers are. Nerd, in this context, isn't a bad thing. I say embrace your nerdness as I did.

Anyway, I digress. There's a lot of interesting info and pics out there on the interwebs and some really good TV shows as well.

No vid clip better exemplifies the glory of God's design than this one. His intelligent deign of these creatures shows why he is worthy of our praise and love.

/ha ha just kidding. Evolution rocks.

That was pretty cool. But what I like better is finding out there are over 80 vids on YouTube from the National Geographic people.

I think I will be spending a lot of time there over the next week.
