The Sandlot definetly should have been on this list

Rudy was a faggy movie

Hey Bel4Sucks... procede to blow it out your cornhole

You first, ya irish lovin homo. You probably cried during the movie like a little biatch anyway. That movie blew.

Bel4sucks
There is a reason that "Rudy" didn't make the list. It sucked.

Rudy was great!!

bite your tongue.

Oh, that's right. Given your taste in hockey teams, you can't be blamed;)

2002-09-03 01:05:18 AM

Billy Dee Williams, James Earl Jones *and* Richard Pryor; how did it not make the list? Seriously though, it wasn't too bad.

2002-09-03 01:05:37 AM
MY nomination for best sports movie ever: The footage from when some guy threw a fastball and out of pure luck, a pigeon flys in front of it and gets absolutely anihilated.

Two old and relatively obscure sports films that I like are Downhill Racer with a young Robert Redford and Gene Hackman and Grand Prix starring Steve McQueen.

Blah blah. Speaking of hockey fights, I'd like to see your boy Mccarty (sp?) so at it with Scott Parker. Make ol 3 tooth lose one of the few he has left.

2002-09-03 01:06:01 AM

I am SHOCKED, I tell you, SCHOCKED that this one didn't make the cut.

But seriously, not a bad list. I don't think I'd make Rocky #1, or include Breaking Away, a film i have my own personal vendetta with, but overall not bad.

Oh, and on a figure skating note, The Cutting Edge was at least as good as one or two of these, and The Sandlot deserves a spot as well.

2002-09-03 01:06:46 AM
Orius Not that it should be on the list of top 20, but I though Mr. Baseball was a surprisingly good movie. Certainly the best one Tom Selleck ever did. Boy he picked the worse films to do.

Bel4Sucks... namecalling shows your maturity. When you hit double digits in age, please feel free to come back. Until then, I'll just laugh at you. And your silly comments. Right on, Sweater Girl...

What, no Shaolin Soccer?

2002-09-03 01:08:13 AM
I think McCarty would be the last Wing I'd fark with.

IF I were a guy

IF I were in the NHL

I'd shy away. He's a hothead.

And my boy is Sergei:) He's little, but he's quick.

Bull Durham was a great movie... It's a pity the *real* Durham Bulls moved out of El Toro Stadium, even though their "new" stadium is pretty nice.

2002-09-03 01:08:42 AM
Major league definately ranked up above most of those.

Although Slapshot is pure classic in every sense, even has the salad dressing guy in it.

2002-09-03 01:09:02 AM
Cable Guy:I dunno..Three men and a Baby and Quigly Down Under beat the pants off Mr. Baseball in my book.

Guess its all a matter of opinion...like everything else on fark.

2002-09-03 01:09:27 AM
Jerry Macguire deserves way better. Excellant film.

2002-09-03 01:10:40 AM
Megosteve : Yah, i almost forgot that. Shaolin Soccer has got to be the most action packed soccer show ever, and with the most CGI.

2002-09-03 01:11:08 AM
Oh you SO did not just call Paul Newman the "Salad dressing guy"

2002-09-03 01:11:21 AM
dag... no Air Up There

That was Randy Johnson last year last year. I wish I could find the video, that was amazing. May the bird rest in peace...

Hold it, aren;t you the fark that told me "blow it out my cornhole ( and you call me immature?) because of my negative view on a movie you liked? Get a clue moron.

J West
I live in Dallas now, but when I was a child, I lived in Atlanta. We had the Flames there, before they got moved to Calgary. My first hockey game was in 1979, a 7-2 ROMP of the ......wait for it......Detroit Red Wings.

Sweater Girl

Eh, I bet Scott Parker could take him. The funniest thing I ever saw him do was one punch Stu " the grim reaper(ha!)" Grimson to the ice.

2002-09-03 01:13:37 AM
Sweater Girl: 3rd row blue line for the big game. Couldn't speak for days. Delicious!

In other news, I think Rocky should have been #1.

What a joke list. I can't give it any cred after it left out "This Sporting Life." That maovie along with many others are at least better than crap like the Bad news bears. Even Goldie Hawn in Wildcats kicks that films arse.

This Sporting Life is an English movie made in the 60's starring Richard Harris. (The emperor in Gladiator) It is based around a Coal Miner that gets signed and then stars for the local rugby league team Wakefield Trinity. The opening scenes of the film show him losing all of his front teeth.

For realism in sports films this one is hard to go past.

I'm surprised that other pieces of crap like Space Jam was not included.

2002-09-03 01:14:28 AM
Where the fark is "He Got Game"? That was deep.

2002-09-03 01:14:28 AM
ha ha ha ha ha ha. Did I mention I'm from Detroit? Ha ha ha ha ha ha. Did you just call me moron? Ha ha ha ha ha.

"You eat pieces of shiat for breakfast?"

Llarken: "Three men and a Baby and Quigly Down Under beat the pants off Mr. Baseball in my book."

Yeah... they didn't really do much for me. I was always disappointed with his films. I was big Magnum PI fan and expected much better from him. I guess because I like baseball, and the story was pretty good, I liked Mr. Baseball the best.

I'm glad you are proud to be from detroit. Why I would care where a moron like you hails from is beyond me. Anyways, asshat, like I said, you were the Weeners a personal comment towards me, for what I said about a movie you like! And I'm the one being childish? Try talking your own advise cocksucker, and just fark off.

2002-09-03 01:19:33 AM
Slap Shot owns but I hate the ending. It feels like "aww fark, we gotta end this movie somehow, let's try this piece of shiat..."

Although it least avoids the cliche "dramatic victory ending".

2002-09-03 01:20:30 AM
Oh you SO did not just call Paul Newman the "Salad dressing guy"

Yeah, get it right, he's the popcorn guy. Anyway, I never saw Bull Durham but I'm confident that it doesn't deserve #1 based purely on the fact that Susan Sarandon needs to be punched in the face.

Albatross

What great seats!
you lucky bastage, you!!

Bel4sucks maybe, I still say Darren is a vicious scrapper, though.

And why wasn't Rocky number 1? Everyone has seen Rocky.

Bull Durham?

whatever.

2002-09-03 01:22:52 AM
CableGuy: It certainly wasn't as bad as its reputation, I'll give you that. Nothing I would rent for Bad movie night.

That's so strange...I could have sworn Rocky was #1 and Bull Durham was number 2. Oh well, Rocky is a good #2 and I've never seen Bull Durham all the way through, so I wouldn't know.

2002-09-03 01:25:26 AM
I object to Bull Durham mainly because Costner is a terrible actor. I hates him i does.

2002-09-03 01:25:27 AM
SpikeStrip,

I was gonna mention that flick, but thought no one would know what I was talking about. It had a great lezbo scene, I killed alot of kittens watching it!

Dr. Toast

That was the best thing I have ever seen in a baseball highlight.

2002-09-03 01:26:00 AM
You tools.. how could you forget..

2002-09-03 01:26:56 AM
By the way birds are stupid in Arizona, Don't if it happend at home or not. I hit about 4 to 5 a year in my car on the freeway, poor bastards just swoop into my grill.

2002-09-03 01:27:15 AM
Reno77: It'd be cool if you can post it. It's one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. What are the odds of a pigeon swooping in and colliding with a 95mph fastball? Unbelievable. And the poor farkin' bird just explodes! To his credit, Randy Johnson said he didn't think it was funny. I don't think it's funny, but damn... what are the odds? Just proves anything is possible.

2002-09-03 01:28:25 AM
Man, that video is insane. Those are some crazy odds, but considering the number of pitches per year, it's probably more likely then you think. Still insane.
