Smitty, not only did you trip over that headline, you fell down the stairs...

Yeah, Born to Reetiiiire would have worked better.
I guess they finally got tired of groupies, who'd have thunk it?

Definitely fell down the stairs

In other news Steppenwolf was still together despite not having a hit since 1969.

"...the Joe Chithalen Memorial Musical Instrument Lending Library (JCMMILL), a charitable organization that loans instruments to aspiring musicians."

Put me down for a 1970, 21-fret Rickenbacker 4001 with the checkerboard binding and the full-width inlays and the toaster-top pickup and the Grover tuning heads. Burgundy finish, please. I swear I'll give it back...

One of the best songs you have never heard is "The Wall". Worth looking up, especially if you know anything about John Kay.

/God damn! The pusher.

I have a soft spot for "Foggy Mental Breakdown"

xdedd-

"The Pusher" was written by Hoyt Axton. Best known as "the dad" in "Gremlins".

NOOOOO!!! my favorite all time band. ignore any song you ever heard on the radio and dig around, you'll find a ton of good songs. The Monster album is mind blowing, just lay down and listen to it straight through one night.

yes, they have been milking the State Fair circuit for what it's worth, but it's good stuff.

realmolo, "Hoyt Axton is best known as the dad in Gremilns, " funny I thought he was best known for writing "Joy to The World" made famous by "Three Dog Nite"
Steppenwolf is and has been one of the best bands of all time in my humble opinion. I've always loved them, saw them live for the first time way back in 1971.

This is really important. When making out, whenever possible, put on side one of Led Zeppelin IV.

/I don't know why I was reminded of that.
//Carry on. Nothing to see here.

I met Steppenwolf about ten years ago when my buddies band was opening for them.

Good guys all around. I wish them a happy retirement.

It's all fun and games until the neck starts to separate from the body.

When I was at the University of Southern Mississippi, the kraut lead singer came and did a short lecture on the music industry. Of course I went. Later that night he went down to Wiggins, MS to do a show. That, I did not go to.

My brother once sang that song as "lookin' for suspenders"
which, of course, nobody will think is funny at all, but was hilarious at the time.
