1. Put snakes on plane Nope, Submitter has 3 kids. In fact Submitter has custody of his 3 kids. In fact one of those kids isn't even biologically his yet he has custody. In fact Submitter is one of the best damn dad's you will ever meet. Keep in mind that while Submitter and his kids do play video games, it is rare, and only on the weekends (the only time they are allowed to), and after it is late enough that we are home fort he night.

Oh, and the asinine part comes from the fact that it seems to be all the one guy and his kid do together. A divorced dad that doesn't see his kid too much should be finding more to do with his kid AS WELL. This is in no way bad, unless it is the majority of your time with the kid, which it seems.

it's good that dad is spending some time with the kids because in this over-worked country... some time is better than no time at all... if it wasn't video games it would be baseball or something else... i guess the good thing about video games is that you won't have to worry about your dad beating up the ump... he'll just go whine on the forums about how much his class just got nerfed at the last patch

Mario Party 8 and wii sports give you plenty of opportunities to bring up conversations with your kids that they may not be comfortable talking to you about otherwise. They are relaxed and having fun, and there is a distraction in the background to keep conversation flowing.

Back in the late eighties my father and I were racing to be the first person in the household to beat Super Mario Brothers. When my bedtime came around, he'd tell me to go upstairs and he'd continue playing. Then he'd move to the foot of the stairs and slowly taunt that he had reached World 8 and that the end was nigh.
