Hey that was cool. Violence, action, humor... no bikini babes, but still good stuff.

what a cute little kid..."I'm sorry, I meant to cut off your head"

hehe - I have to laugh

Cool stuff, but it is like Star Wars, I mean start in the middle of a series? (if it is, leave out the JarJar Binks character, puhleeeze!!!) 8-)

There are the first two chapters on the website. I don't know why the poster started with the third one as a link.
They do kick ass tho.

That video was mega tight, but in the beginning it was boring. Oh well, it still rocked.

Here's a clown that we all hate...Ronald McDonald, cause he's only in it for the burgers and that's not very funny.

nice at times, but mostly boring, and the characters' voices really annoy me
2001-07-15 11:20:27 AM
I thought it sucked ass.. stupid plot, not enough action, and the only action sucked itself.

2001-07-15 11:27:32 AM
that rocked. and yes, i thought of ninja scroll immediately, but that was only confirmed when they started hopping through the trees.

I have to agree that that was not very good. The graphics were great but that was it. I enjoyed the stick figure ninja stuff posted a while ago much more.

Nice. But where was Angelina Jolie???
2001-07-15 11:59:50 AM
Look at the actors' mouths when they talk. They matched them up perfectly(compared to other toons where they just have 2 frames to signify talking)

Does anyone know how often they update? I'd like to see more.

A Flash-style Ninja Scroll. Nice, though. If you've never seen Ninja Scroll ---go buy/rent it and be happy.

Where's the love, though? Where's the love?

Not original, I know, but I couldn't resist.

Huh- I didn't know Japanese kids who kill people had British Accents. Very cool though. Am I the only one here that noticed the character on the 2nd chapter has a hell lot of resemblence to Jar Jar? Not cool, not cool at all. Still very cool though.
2001-07-15 02:22:50 PM
has anyone seen the sequel to ninja scroll? i keep meaning to rent it, but since i rarely ever hear anyone talk about it, i keep presuming it was disappointing.

the flash animation was a poor homage to ninja scroll.
the pacing was inconsistent, the dialogue contrived, and the voices extremely annoying.

It's really well done for a Flash movie, but as anime it's crap. I usually cringe a bit at any imitation Anime. I've yet to see one with anything like a real plot or characters - instead they usually wind up being a cliche of a cliche (with lots of stuff getting chopped off for good measure).
They inspire that same grating quality as when people from deep down in Dixie try to do Shakespeare - "To bay or nawt to bay Y'all"

The title you are thinking about is called "Nija Ressurection" and it's NOT the sequal to Ninja Scroll. The translators renamed the movie to try and link it to Ninja Scroll. It's not very good, and it's a completely different story and style. A bit creepy at parts, too.

Its pretty well done, but I'm kinda getting tired of people paying tribute to silly anime cliches.
2001-07-15 03:41:15 PM
i should have suspected as much. thanks for the wily tip.

Yeah, it was cool how the mouths matched the talking, but the voices were slow and deliberate. it didn't seem natural.

Ninja Ressurection ate piles of ass.

The Little Ninja didn't seem like animae to me... as far as the art and animation goes. I thought it kicked ass. As far as the inventor guy in episode two... how the hell do you see a comparison to Jar Jar?!? Have you ever seen a Kung Fu movie before? There are ALWAYS squirrely characters like that in Kung Fu flicks. If you don't like the genre, that's one thing... but to rag on the animation because of it is a little shiatty on your part. The animation was top-notch... they're trying to make a story... not one big fight scene.

thank you, morpheus. slow sunday and i'm watching ninja scroll again. oh it's been so long. . .

the thing that impresses me most about this movie is not just the animation, but what in a live action movie would be the direction. the "camera" angles are just beautiful.
2001-07-15 04:33:22 PM
Vermont-Are you talking about the Flash or Ninja Scroll there?

Ninja Scroll was very good, if you are talking about the camera angles there. Sufficiently graphic and gory enough to be shocking. There'd be no way this film'd survive as live-action; the fx couldn't make some of the demons realistic (not to mention the adult sequences.)
2001-07-15 04:44:45 PM
i'm talking about ninja scroll. the flash animation inspired me to d/l it. the only reason i mentioned live-action is because what's striking about good direction is, in part, an excellent manipulation of the camera around the action, which ninja scroll, for an animation, does amazingly well. i agree that there would be no conceivable way to convert it to live action, and any attempt would only end up ruining it altogether.

can anyone explain me the plot in ninja scroll? especially the part about the gold and the shogun of the dark.
2001-07-15 07:14:44 PM
well, I just d/l morpheus, and in the process of getting ninja scroll. I'll tell you later :)
2001-07-15 09:45:25 PM
well jubei, hummm spelling might be off, is the main character and he is "persuaded" with the offering of life if he helps this little old assasian ...spelling might be off again... since he poisoned him. anyhow that shogun of the dark is somone jubei thought he killed A LONG time ago, well he beheaded him.... but thats JUST NOT good enough... sadly he didnt and well-- the guy came back --anyhow the gold was simply stolen by the moki-zuki clan -- and the shogun of the dark (Gemma, the resident bad guy) steals gold so he can create a army of "super ninjas" -- thus killing the retainers without even thinking

hope that helps, god must have been the 4th time i watched it :/
