Exactly what constitutes gay rape in kindergarten? And where is the teacher during this?

2007-06-10 10:33:22 AM
When i was in high school and junior high in the suburbs 15 years ago, there was a lot of rape going on in the shadows. Nobody wanted to hear about it. Nobody wanted to believe that these wealthy suburban kids could be raping and getting raped. i feel bad that I was too young and stupid to know what to do myself.

The cops wont do anything. I've asked them. I think it's because they're no more than traffic cops in that area driving around writing tickets all day. Crimes and investigations are out of their scope.

2007-06-10 10:33:23 AM
That wouldn't have anything to do with the knee-jerk way we've come to label everyone as sex offenders during the last twenty years, would it?

Between calling little kids peeking up skirts or stealing kisses on the cheek sexual harrassment and the implementation of Draconian 'zero-tolerance' bureaucracy in our schools, of course there are going to be more reports and higher incidences.

You keep lowering the bar, of course the numbers go up.

Wow, you mean that the whole "the only crime you can really commit is getting caught" mentality of the parents and grandparents didn't help to establish a set of ethics and boundaries with the current generation of kids and young adults?

Who would've thunk it?

How many of these 'Crimes' are just a 17 year old and 15 year old doing it? When I was in high school, everyone looked the other way. If I had to deal with the laws now, I would have been in jail. We even had a 28 year old doing a 15 year old. All with consent. The school just warned them to keep it away from the school.

"STOCKTON, California" ... "a society saturated with sex and violence"

Did that article say that California was saturated with sex and violence?

Have they never heard of Africa?

To me saturated means, filled to the maximum extent possible. I think California has a long way to go before they get to that point.

But I have complete faith that they will one day reach it.

Kids are learning about sex from porn while sex education is left to the public school and morality is believed to be taught at church, which isn't the case since knowing right/wrong has nothing to do with religion or belief in god

Parents should teach their kids about sex and morality and both subjects together. Doing this should not be left to "other people" or the "school" or the god-talking people at the cruxifix house

I don't know if their assumption that sex and violence on television are completely accurate. I'm sure there's some merit to it, but I don't think it's the only thing.

If your parents tell you not to drink and do drugs, you're generally going to drink and do drugs because you're not supposed to. It happens with a lot of other things you're not supposed to do. You aren't supposed to, but you do it anyway because...you get the picture. So, maybe it works the same way. Parents telling their kids sex is bad, don't have sex. Sex is a dirty thing. Only teaching abstinance and not about birth control. Maybe this is their sick way of rebelling.

Could be wrong.

If earlier generations had put away all the child molesters and violent sexual offenders in the first place, then this would not beget itself. It's a proven fact that most children who are traumatized as youths grow up to show tendencies to want to commit the same crimes. Not saying all. If anything, they just show pedophilic tendencies or have strange sexual fantasies, and again, not saying that this is a straight result from sexual abuse as a child, but it does significantly increase the likelihood. Instead of second chances and letting these morons go free, lock 'em up, don't let them have a chance, and do our best as a society to educate our children about letting people KNOW about such abuse, curse whatever the abuser threatens them with, because our children should know that once we can find our the truth and persecute the abuser, they will be safe.

But, I digress. Because no child ever is safe. It's a flawed system, and it always will be. Sexual offenders will have shortened sentences or will just eventually go free. There is not much more we can do but keep an eye on our kids every step of the way, and that makes us little more than paranoid. But that's the society we live in. I'm in my twenties, and WE used to go outside and play. Unsupervised. Until a little girl was abducted and molested. Good times.

2007-06-10 11:31:25 AM
I still dunno how truly accurate this portrayal is. I mean statistics when it comes to crime/unreported crime, etc is kinda sketchy. I mean how can you purport an increase in crime if you have an already assumed majority being unreported, maybe the headline ought be "Rape being reported more often than years past" but then who knows since it uses sketchy "assumed unreported" statistics.

You know, people who haven't been molested do have some really f-ed up fantasies. You can't just blame rapists and pedophiles. It's also the parents fault for not telling dear little Johnny that making some effort to get somebody to have sex with you willingly is the better way to go.

2007-06-10 11:38:55 AM

Isn't that kind of a chicken and egg problem? You say rightly that kids who are sexually abused have a higher chance of being abusers themselves but doesn't that also apply to the abusers? Its a cycle, where do you draw the line for guilt here?

I mean obviously the violent people ought to be locked up but if they were also victims as children doesn't that mitigate (not excuse) the crime?

I guess i look at this from the perspective that no crime or action is independent of why people have motives, we can't separate the "why" from the action. Child sex crimes aren't generally committed in a vacuum where some otherwise normal person just snaps and hurts a child.

I semi agree. However violent/sex crimes are not all environmental in the behaviors inception. While abused children OFTEN become abusers, not all abusers were once abused. Some of the most heinous crimes, serial killers, etc, are simply neuro/psychologically (congenital perhaps/maybe a frontal lobe trauma, no o2? who knows) farked.

Sex offenders should be taken off the market and forced to accept very large blunt objects in their rectums at 240TPM (thrusts per minute) via a hydraulic device. After 2 months of this, then we should treat them for whatever problem led to their behavior.

On the inverse, however, we REALLY need to do something bout the draconian laws that create "sex" offenders, ie those who aren't but are labeled as such for minor (no pun intended) indescrections, if an 18 yr old has sex with a 16 yr old, he shouldnt be forced to wear that badge for the rest of his life. Or a 16 yr old and 15 yr old. hell they're in the same grade often times. What's the line? its much too generalized and need to be reworked with the focus being on stopping actual criminal/dangerous behavior, not trying to get the conviction count up.

2007-06-10 11:57:48 AM
I can definitely agree with you based on my dating history, stella, lol. I was saying that those that are abused have psychological problems that lead up to or include grossly perverse sexual tendencies, but it's all really in the scope of each person as to how perverse the tendencies are before they are illegal. This gets into all the articles we read about pedophiles who were never abused, hurt, or molested. Some scientists have claimed that pedophilia is genetic or an almost natural tendency, which you may or may not agree with.

On the thought of parenting, I've known guys in the past whose parents were thoughtless jerkheads who were instilling this ideal of "Go get 'em Tiger!" in their kids dealing with every aspect of their life, that these guys (girls, who knows, trying to be the all-inclusive here) would go and "get 'em" even if it was their unwilling date. I notice this pattern in middle-class suburbia, where the kids are somewhat expected to succeed, overcome everyone else, and win, win, win. And what happens when little Johnny gets mad his date won't put out, because, after all, he comes from a fairly affluent successful family, and he's supposed to be the best, and this girl has offended him, mired his self-worth and torn through his over-inflated self-esteem? He rapes her, and his family defends the hell out of him, and Johnny gets 60 days in juvvie, and he'll keep on being the best!

I am the queen of run-on sentences. All these math classes are useless to me.

You make some excellent points. If we had locked up sex-offenders for life years ago, we wouldn't have all these pedos going around attracted to 16, 17 year-old girls. We have to stop the spread of the pedo virus.

"Draconian"? It says that forcible rape has increased and we get the line "Well, there are more draconian laws now." A law against forcible rape is draconian?

IMO, people (including kids) are just simply meaner these days. Being "cool" (intimidating) is on just about every brain. Even the nerds are dangerous today.

stellathediver is onto something there with the "willingly" comment. Why does it enter a kid's brain that if he's curious about what little Suzy looks like naked, then he'll just get five of his friends to hold her down so he can attack her? It's definitely the coming generation of plunderers: "Getting something by earning it is a waste of time when you can just TAKE it instead. HAVING it is all that matters." That's the mentality.

2007-06-10 12:07:16 PM
However, the question to be asked is:

Is our kids learning?

ie.
Where are they learning this behaviour from?
Movies?
Rap/Hip-Hop?
TV?
The Internet? (ZOMG! oh noes!!! Everybody panic!)
The "new hip/cool" thing to do? (I bloody well hope not!)

No, robeph, he should not. When I was 16, I was farking. Many of us were. And I was INCREDIBLY consensual, lawl! And I had a 19 year old boyfriend. Was he preying on my innocence? Eeeyyeah, NO. Sadly, though, there are some youths who are raised in households where drugs, sex, and/or violence are a matter of the norm for their childhoods, and although they are 13 years old, they may be ready for some serious screwing. It's all they've seen. It's what they expect from life. It is ascertaining whether or not innocence is a major factor, imo. The mother may be outraged that 18 year old Bob was diddling 13 year old Judy, but where WAS mom to tell Judy that dating 18 year olds is a little bit of a taboo endeavor? It is when you see those "normal" 13 year olds who actually still own Barbies and do homework and play with Scrappers the dog who think of 69 as only a number divisible by 3 who is GROOMED into sexual contact that serious action needs to be taken. And I'm not saying 13 is some magic number. And I'm also not saying action does not to be taken against Bob in the former case, but he does not need to be labelled a sex offender for the rest of his life. He's 18, he may be a troublemaker, and he may be stupid, but sometimes, sadly, the plaintiff is not so "innocent." This wanders away from pedophilia and falls into the murky gray of teen sex.

2007-06-10 12:11:35 PM
90% better reporting and information
10% more drug use and media exposure (more accessible child pron, etc.) that can be tipping a few latent adult pervs over into acting out and thus creating more child offenders.

Children DO what they SEE (or experience) and if daddy or mommy's boyfriend (or mommy) molest them, they will repeat the same actions on their peers. Women and children have been the victims of sexual violence for many years, and acting out has happened, but it's only been in the last 15-20 years that our society has allowed people to admit it without fear of being labeled as "tainted" or "damaged goods" (especially little boys!). So, reporting of this formerly "invisible" crime has increased and the offenders are being caught.

The biggest problem is that early sexual abuse can cause a warped "imprinting" on a person's sexuality. Just like a baby bird indelibly identifies that first face (avian or human) it sees upon hatching as it's "Mommy", a child who has been molested may forever attach sexual gratification to the situation of adult/child sex. And no matter how much any bleeding heart "Recuperation" program tries to change that early programming, it CAN'T BE DONE. A child predator remains a child predator for the rest of their life and they cannot be safely returned to society at large. And they are smart and sneaky about how they get access to our kids.

Most frustrating thing about this early identification is that these people can't be "fixed" (in any sense) and the scariest and most violent will be released at age 18 and their records sealed...UNTIL THEY RUIN ANOTHER LIFE.
