everything is so rosy that there is nothing a u.s. citizen has to complain about.

the politicians have all of our best interest as the foremost priority on their agenda.

Toasted or untoasted? Toasted, you're right, but untoasted it's gotta be frosted.
/stopped eating pop tarts
//"hot fudge sundae" pop tarts just look disgusting.

i can't eat untoasted pop tarts at all. they're clearly meant to be strawberry and unfrosted and toasted until the edges are brown but not burnt and then you're supposed to eat the edges first (dipped in milk) and then work your way through the middle.

Public transportation. Last week I commuted by train to work and found that the ticket was $15 per day (round trip) and the whole ordeal was basically over an hour and a half one way.

By comparison, even with one of my gas guzzling V8s I only use at worst 2.5 gallons a day and it's about 30-45 minutes one way.

Half the price, half the time, and I get the satisfaction of spiting the anti-environmentalists who have kids and a stake in the future.

Oddly enough, I have found my commute to be the same...although I CAN bike to work on nice days, but there is no shower at my work and it takes about an hour to do...

/Toasted Brown Sugar Frosted Pop Tarts FTW!

That a TFer was at a cookout this weekend and heard a complete stranger mention LOLcats.

Could this be the beginning of the end for civilization?

2007-05-29 10:19:52 AM
They raised prices to record highs before the weekend so $3/gal wouldn't seem so bad. Duh.

submitter: Gas prices actually fell during the Memorial Day weekend. Whatever will we have to complain about now?

I think we can still complain about gas prices. Raising the price by 50 cents per gallon, and then knocking ten cents off that, is still a 40 cent increase.

my complaint:

If you're making burgers for people, do not overcook them.
Also, serve them hot, do not stack them in a tray and set them aside for 30 minutes while youre off cooking other stuff. The burgers are way too dry, and overcooked at that point.

If you come to my house for burgers, you get yours fresh off the grill, cooked to your liking.

How about the fact that less than 5 years ago it cost me $16 to fill the tank of my small, 4 cylinder car, and 2 days ago, it cost me $38 for the same.
I think I'll complain about that.

2007-05-29 12:22:18 PM
Why do gas prices hate our freedom??

WHY???

2007-05-29 12:22:41 PM
Still payin' $3.44/gal here. I was in St.Louis this weekend some spots were $2.99. Production shortage my ass.

2007-05-29 12:24:19 PM
They shot their price wad too early.

2007-05-29 12:25:00 PM
I wanna complain about how this article refutes my post a few a days ago arguing why it's normal for companies to price gouge us.

HOW DARE YOU REFUTE ME INTERNET!!!!!

/finding article that affirms beliefs

2007-05-29 12:25:03 PM
it's like a store that raised their prices 150% over the last year or so then had a 10% sale. Whoopee.

2007-05-29 12:25:41 PM
how about gas prices, asshat?

How about the fact that we're STILL getting anally raped at the pump?

Whatever will we have to complain about now?

We'll always have Paris.

2007-05-29 12:30:01 PM
I wouldn't mind paying that much, if it actually cost that much. But when you see executives getting 30 million dollar bonuses, it pisses me off a bit.

2007-05-29 12:30:08 PM
Lame headlines?

2007-05-29 12:30:47 PM
Meh, it dropped 12 cents here. What's that, 3 percent? Any change of less than 30 or 40 cents is barely noticeable anymore.

2007-05-29 12:31:03 PM
In case you missed it, in quite a few states numerous companies are being sued for gouging during last year's Memorial Day Weekend. I find it highly unlikely they'd do it again with more people watching during this one.

1) A Rapes B every Weekend
2) A Claims X Event causes Rape (UNCONTROLLABLE)
3) B Complains about being raped
4) A continues to rape B
5) Various governmental agencies warn A his raping is being watched
6) A doesn't rape B one weekend, subby creates retarded headline.

Stick the gas pump up your arse and/or stop driving your Big Wheels from your mother's basement, subby.

2007-05-29 12:31:47 PM
The fact that they went up forty cents a gallon the week before and didn't go down until the middle of the day monday?

2007-05-29 12:32:23 PM
Uh, subbys that clearly ride the bike to work and think they can laugh at us paying 6.00 a gallon before summers over.

/remembers gas being 97 cents a gallon
//luckiest man on earth with a 4 cylinder car

SilentStrider: How does that compare to the US$7+/gallon we are paying?

2007-05-29 12:35:03 PM
By one penny.

After days on end of rises of a nickel each.

2007-05-29 12:35:43 PM
also, I ride my bike to work, but mostly because its faster, and it would cost $200 a month to park.

OK Gas prices haven't moved in NY. They didn't go up since Thursday, but they haven't gone down either.
