Haha, fantastic. I'd completely forgotten about how great these guys are.

That is hilarious.

2007-05-27 10:47:44 PM
Those guys kick ass.

The vid/cover for Walk This Way has entered my top 5 covers of all time.

dj_bigbird: The vid/cover for Walk This Way has entered my top 5 covers of all time.

War Pigs is even better IMO. For once I can understand the lyrics!

I have a few of their CDs. While the shtick grows old after a while, the arrangements are all pretty clever.

That's the best "Hillbilly covers a good rock song and makes it banjo-ey" I've heard all day.

2007-05-27 11:30:18 PM
I find it funny as hell that some moron named "fLoPiSfLoPiSy" who apparently worships Tupac calls them "gay hillbillies".

I half expected him to be some deranged Motorhead fan, but I guess they have a far better sense of humor and are more secure in their own sexuality than "fLoPiSfLoPiSy"

i don't know; it's okay, a little too twangy. i appreciate the concept, but it just isn't doing it for me.

2007-05-27 11:39:01 PM
I've never heard of them before.

I was expecting hot chicks.

They were not hot chicks. :(

I love real musicans when they come together.

2007-05-28 01:21:00 AM
That was pretty sweet. I wish I could play banjo.

.... Hillbilly bluegrassy music? Covering Motorhead? Gah!

Some things are best left alone. -_-;

2007-05-28 03:07:16 AM
That's pretty cool actually.

Now let's see Motorhead cover something like Devil Went Down To Georgia.

/Do these guys do any of their own stuff or is it just covers?

Yeah, the joke ran out after forty seconds, the solo was just a nail in the coffin.

2007-05-28 08:59:29 AM
Well. That sucked.

Each CD after the first has at least one original. My favorite is "I'm keeping your poop".

I saw them in caoncert last year. They play small clubs and just as great live. Very fun show.

I've said it before and I'll say it once more.

On their cover of Christine Sixteen in the middle of the song there is a spoken part.It is simultaneously one of the most creepiest and funniest things I've heard. Considering the bands image and the speakers excited twang.

"I don't usually say things like this to girls your age,
but when I saw you coming out of the school that day,
that day I knew, I knew,
I've got to have you, I've got to have you."

/Twern't called a Tribute to Mountain love fer nuthin'

Ahhh this is fine, but I liked Shakira, too.

Both of these are so much better than the abomination that is
Celine Dion doing 'You shook me all night long'.

That one doesnt even rise to the level American Idol or kareoke night at the local Holiday Inn.

Hayseed Dixie is OK if you just want to hear a bunch of semi-talented goofs making fun of music by turning it into bluegrass.

If you want serious musicians doing good bluegrass covers, check out Iron Horse. They have 3 CD's that I know of:

Fade to Bluegrass parts 1 & 2, which are tributes to Metallica. Song of special note: Hero of the Day.

Black & Bluegrass, a tribute to Black Sabbath / Ozzy. Song of special note: Crazy Train. Honorable mention - Mamma I'm Coming Home (it's not their fault, but the arrangement comes out sounding like Weird Al's "The Night Santa Went Crazy")

'Now let's see Motorhead cover something like Devil Went Down To Georgia.'

Lemmy does a pretty wicked "Johnny B Goode" cover...

2007-05-28 10:04:33 PM
That makes up for NOTHING.

fark.com/video, I'm *so* disappointed in you.

Whatthefark

They have another band by the name of Kerosene Brothers. They have only released one CD under that banner though. They add in some percussion and an electric guitar into the mix for that.

I once saw Lemmy drinking with a couple of bimbos in the Whiskey and my friends kept bugging me asking, "Is that him? Go and talk to him."

When the girls got up to powder their noses I approached and said, "Motorhead! The first time I ever heard you guys was when you played the Ace of Spades in the toilet on The Young Ones."

To which he replied, "We've done a lot since then."

I very nearly asked, "Is it any better?"

/just one of the many times I've avoided death's hoary grip
//I swear that mole could tell what I was thinking?!
