If you need any proof as to how annoyed Tate was, there's a clip of her on Youtube.

God, it makes me proud to see her maoning, the unfunny farker. Mitchell and Webb are way better than her.

Catherine Tate - not funny at all.

She might have a better chance if she wasn't in the 'Best Comedy' category. I've no idea how her show was nominated for that.

At least she's honest like Sam L Jackson was at the Oscars.

/not a fan
//not bovvered

Can someone translate that article into English? All I got was some homely redhead was upset about something.

She seems to have the idea that they give these things to people without any talent. Anyone can repeat the same thing over and over. She should watch Extras and see a good attack on catchphrase based comedy. A show that's actually won something! The Fast Show perfected this type of comedy and then removed the need for it ever again. Shut the fark up biatch!

/she was good in Doctor Who
//that was probably just because it was Doctor Who.

Sorry but her comedy has been unfunny from day 1, I have no idea who lets these things get thru to the controllers of BBC 1 and 2 but seriously, she just isn't funny. It was little Britain meets fast show, with a humourectomy in between. I would laugh more having that umbrella thing pushed down my willy at a urology clinic.

ok so i'm not the first to mention Dr. Who.

But i'm the Weeners the picture.

personally i thought she was funny in that episode, and the sketch she did with Tennant for charity.

Who? And what? huh?

Yer, odd seeing this on a US site, I guess a few of you know who she is. Is she on BBC America?

Some of her schtick is ok, the foul mouthed granny makes me chuckle, but it really is TV to watch when nothing else is on. The point about The Fast Show (called Brilliant in the USA for some reason) was well made.

She was alright in Dr. Who, but it was just her doing her obnoxious redhead thing yet again. Ok as a supporting actress I guess, but her series is tired.

Oh yeah, waaah.

Honest Bender: the foul mouthed granny makes me chuckle

I've watched her show two or three times and that's the only bit that made me laugh at all.

Nah, give me Mitchell and Webb any time. Much less reliant on putting the same characters in slightly different situations each week, more buzzing with clever (and funny) ideas.

I give you The Green Clarinet.

Oh so right. Sir Digby Chicken Ceasar FTW!

/That's numberwang!

I've watched about 10 minutes of her crappy show over about 3 episodes. Each time I managed to catch her characters saying "am I bovvered", "how very dare you" and "what a farking liberty". It seems these days you just need to come up with an obnoxious character with a catch phrase that might be funny once, and you have a TV show contract. As a previous poster said - "Is he 'aving a laugh? E's 'aving a laugh".

By the way, The Fast Show was probably called "Brilliant" in the US because that was a catch phrase from the show.

Catherine Tate and Little Britain are both "comedies" championed by Richard and Judy.

That says it all.

/You will never be The Fast Show so just stop trying.

Little Britain wanted to be the League of Gentlemen, and sucked royally.

Catherine Tate just sucked.

Yes, I'm well aware of that. I just don't see why they have to change stuff like that for the American market. Are Americans so stupid that they wouldn't understand what "The Fast Show" meant? I don't think so but your TV does.
