Lucas. Stop already. We get it.

Please.

2007-05-24 01:44:53 AM
This will not end well

2007-05-24 01:44:57 AM
Remakes of eps 1 - 3 and 6? Awww, you shouldn't have. Seriously. You shouldn't. Not ever.

2007-05-24 01:46:46 AM
How long before the prequels?

2007-05-24 01:47:16 AM
END IT ALREADY.

Every damn thread has to have some genius post either a Star Wars, Simpsons, or South Park Reference.

How witty.

WHY!?!?!?!?!?!?!

If anything, I'd like it if the storyline picked up after ep 6, if anything is going to be done.

Does this have anything to do with Xmas and (insert SW creature here)?

2007-05-24 01:53:05 AM
Boo. New Jedi Order > Old Republic. The actors are all even age appropriate...or, were like 5 years ago.

2007-05-24 02:06:24 AM
Lord. 10 more years of "Lucas rapes my childhood" complaints.

2007-05-24 02:16:24 AM
It'll probably be a silly movie.

2007-05-24 02:21:27 AM
I'm all for it!

as long as it isn't a christmass special...

I'd give my right testicle for a KOTOR movie.

/not the left though. That one's a keeper.

This aint happening. It's someone getting mixed up with the tv series and the very recent clarification that the were not two TV movies in the works.

Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe he's decided to remake IV-VI with new, young and hip actors! Wow, imagine - you could have that Disturbia dickhead as Han! Mischa Barton as Leia! The kid from Malcolm in the Middle as Luke! Will Smith as Vader! The gay guys from Will and Grace as R2 and C3PO!

It JUST MIGHT WORK!

I just came here to say what Gunther said. A KOTOR movie would rule.

ComicBookGuy: If anything, I'd like it if the storyline picked up after ep 6, if anything is going to be done.

What he said. Episodes IV-VI were entertaining because they dumped us into the middle of a conflict with just enough background that the plot made sense (for a Space Oater.) Bad guys, good guys. Hokie religion. Bad guy is good guy's father, good wins. Yay. Episodes I-III were a good concept. Execution was crap, but were still not all that terrible. Established theocracy. Capitalist forces and evil sect plot to overthrow Ahmadinijedi, Sam Jackson, rest of warrior-priests, eventually succeed by corrupting messiah. Do not want ensues.
If they continued after, they could follow the story as has been established in six previous movies. If they continue with episodes -II-0, there would be no real conflict, unless they want to fight the Trade Federation again. Yay, droids.

He can't. Anything after is usually in a Timothy Zahn novel or Tom Veitch comic and those are actually good.

paulseta: It's someone getting mixed up with the tv series and the very recent clarification that the were not two TV movies in the works.

The article does mention the TV series...

But sweet Jesus, Lucas needs to let this shiat go.
/Original movies were okay, nothing too special.
//Newer movies...meh.
///Yoda kicking some ass was kinda cool.

Episodes I-III were a good concept. Execution was crap, but were still not all that terrible. Established theocracy. Capitalist forces and evil sect plot to overthrow Ahmadinijedi, Sam Jackson, rest of warrior-priests, eventually succeed by corrupting messiah...

The best comment I've ever heard on that was to completely dump Ep I because nobody gave a damn about baby Anakin. The real story was in the Emporer hunting down and executing the Jedii. That's what the entire Ep III should have been, a long drawn out battle that the good guys ultimately loose.

I mean, damn, we fanboys have been waiting for Vader v. EVERYONE since the 70's and they cover the whole damn thing in about ten minutes of montage, if even that.

For fuking shame, Mr. Lucas!

And if I remember properly, the original plan included parts VII, VIII and IX. I think most of the viable plotlines for that ended up cleaned out by the novelized franchising.

If they continue with episodes -II-0, there would be no real conflict, unless they want to fight the Trade Federation again. Yay, droids.

Depends on how far back they take it. Think about Yoda's younger days fighting the last of the Sith lords...

Despite opening in just 32 US theatres (Spiderman 3 recently premiered in 4324 US theatres) across the US on May 25, 1977 it went on to be the second highest grossing film all time behind Titanic.

Is someone writing this article high?

If there are some good lightsaber fights, then I'm all for it.

2007-05-24 07:55:31 AM
I hope Lucas writes the script.

/so subtle

2007-05-24 07:56:56 AM
Aren't you rich enough, Mr. Lucas?

Bloody hell.

2007-05-24 07:58:17 AM
After my buddies and I saw Ep III, we concured that we'd see another movie "set in the Star Wars universe." Hell, KOTOR had a much better storyline than Ep I. KOTOR II as well.

/still bitter that KOTOR II just ends outta nowhere.

Funny, I was just watching the Star Wars Holiday Special, and wondered how it would look on the big screen.

Gunther, shogun

Time to take a collection. Put your testicles in the dufflebag on the ground.

Mr_Smartypants: I hope Lucas writes the script.

I hope he directs it. He did such a good job with episodes 1-3.

I hope they don't bring the Yuuzan Vong to this galaxy!

/They could invade, and it won't be pretty...

I have a bad feeling about this..

/yes, i write my own material

I'll be there.

The Muppets do Star Wars! It'll be a child friendly action-comedy with Kermit as Yoda, Miss Piggy as Leia and Gonzo as Darth Vader!

Hell, KOTOR had a much better storyline than Ep I. KOTOR II as well.

WTF?

kliq

The reason that KOTOR II ends nowhere is because the final product was rushed at the behest of higher-ups. As I understand it, a lot of material still exists (unused in the source files), and there is/was a project (with BioWare approval) to reconstruct as much missing content as possible.

2007-05-24 08:05:06 AM
so this new movie set you mention, when did it exist in time? from the past or from the future? is it on a soundstage? why do they have to have a press conference to announce such a thing? will the movie set speak for itself or through an agent? how will they refer to him? answers damn it!

2007-05-24 08:05:12 AM
This will certainly be some sort of Jedi versus Sith movie (ie. KotOR).

Lucas is a lunatic with the use of technology though. All of the most recent movies have been like watching a crappy video game.

2007-05-24 08:06:35 AM
I'd rather he remade Episodes I-III so it makes more sense to the IV-VI episodes.

2007-05-24 08:08:21 AM
Mr. Lucas, these are not the movies you are looking for.

Move along, please.

2007-05-24 08:09:02 AM
Jackmeat: the second highest grossing film all time behind Titanic.

Is someone writing this article high?

Either high or they're adjusting for inflation or somesuch.

2007-05-24 08:09:36 AM
Sigh, if more movies MUST be made, make them about A: Shadows of the Empire, B: The Thrawn Trilogy, or C: The Yuuzhan Vong War

Star Wars: The Jumping of the Shark

2007-05-24 08:12:49 AM
Episodes 1 and 2 should have taken place in the first 3/4 or so of Episode 1. (Yes, that means Hayden Christensen would have only been in the series for less than an hour.) Episodes 2 should have featured an adult Anikan played by a completely (and much older) actor, and ended with him becoming Vader. Episode 3 should have focused on Vader rising to power.

Something that is really annoying me with movies lately is the focus on young people where it doesn't serve the story (e.g., the ages of Lois and Clark in Superman Returns is another example).

Did anyone else read the comment at the bottom by a Mr. Abrams from Canada? I see his point, but John Quincy Adams? His father was the second president of the US!

2007-05-24 08:16:57 AM
"I have a good feeling about this"

A movie in the KOTOR universe would be very, very cool.

And give me KOTOR 3!
