Jesus this man knows how to double-talk.

"There's some paintings of naked kids that he did... but we're not going to sell them because WE RESPECT HIM."

Suuuuure you do.

"I'm a gentleman...but if he pisses me off, I may end up auctioning them."

Yeah you're a real gentleman, pal. What you are is a marketing GENIUS. By mentioning the most 'interesting' items that aren't even part of the auction he's brought even more attention to everything else. It's bait-and-switch.

Clever.

"This is stuff we have kept from the auction out of respect to Mr. Jackson. The guy has troubles. We all have skeletons in the closet and, if Michael hadn't put up a fuss, I might have quietly, discreetly, just given it to him. I'm a gentleman...but if he pisses me off, I may end up auctioning them."

I'm torn between hoping that Michael will piss this guy off, and being afraid that he will. On the other hand, would it really matter either way? Is there anyone out there who is demented enough to buy Michael Jackson's used sex toys at auction?

Tealeaf: Is there anyone out there who is demented enough to buy Michael Jackson's used sex toys at auction?

You must be joking. Come on, you know as well as I do there are MILLIONS people out there demented enough, and of those there are many that are rich enough to afford them, and of those there are people who already have the display cases ordered and at the ready.

The world is a horrible, horrible place.

You know this.

This guy is a blackmailing piece of shiat. But given that he's blackmailing a child molesting piece of shiat... well, whatever.

Was any of this stuff used as evidence against him at any time?

I keep getting hung up on that damn stupid idea that a man is innocent of a crime until the crime is PROVEN in a court of law before his peers. I keep thinking that this one thought is what makes US better than them.

I just don't remember that happening yet, despite a whole lot of effort to do so.

That being said, I find it hard to take the word of a POS like this guy that these paintings and such exist and that if they do he wouldn't sell them to make his cash. I get a gut feeling if these things really were there he would make the most money with them.

/If he was the good guy, as he claims, he woulda given those "personal things" back to MJ already.

/I think a tabloid paper would pay this guy millions for these paintings if they exist.

/I don't think a half used bottle of KY would fetch that much though!

The thing about Jackson that blows my mind is that he still has fans. People that actually think well of him, look up to him. That people are capable of lionizing such a horribly dysfunctional trainwreck of a human being speaks to something in the human character that is unfathomable to me.

Yeah, you need to get over that. The innocent until proven guilty thing applies to the courts. Regular folk are allowed to have their own opinions.

I'm a fan of his music. Nothing he does will ever change the fact he's a great singer and entertainer. Fan of him personally? I've never met him. So I have no personal opinion of him.

Thank you, Mugato! Of all the prissy, precious conversation-stoppers, I hate that one the most, I think. Guess what, Francis? This is a conversation, not a courtroom.
Yes, the jury of morons that a weak judge allowed Jackson's dream team to hand pick utterly failed to do their job. But unlike the people on that jury, I am not an idiot, and know a kiddie-diddler when I see one - and more pertinently, I am not under the moral and ethical constraint to be objective that I would have to carry into a jury box.
One of the reasons juries are so stupid today is that they are mostly composed of people too dim to draw reasonable conclusions from simple observation - and that's the way the lawyers like it - that way, it's all about THEM, and their leet legal skillz, and not about the case or the evidence. And there is a simple way to dispose of this - dispose of the preemptory challenge. If a lawyer wants a potential jury member disqualified, he should have to say why, and back it up with some sort of rational explanation. Because 90% of the time, the reason is "This person is smart, and can think for themselves - DO NOT WANT!" - but of course, he would never dare say that in open court.

I just can't get away from the paintings of naked boys. I mean seriously -- how many NON-child-molesting men out there paint naked boys and get accused on multiple occasions of molesting children? I don't buy that his fame made him a target. Madonna is famous but no one has ever accused her of molesting children.

Michael Jackson just...defines "creepy perverted sicko" IMO.
I shudder to think what sick, disgusting, harmful things he's doing to his own children. They will never recover, assuming they ever are freed to discover that not all Daddies have sex with their little boys and look at kiddie p0rn for entertainment.

You also have to remember that Celebrities get coddled when it comes to them breaking the law. Only way he'd have gotten convicted would have been if he had it on tape... and even then he'd probably have gotten away with it.

Stonicus: You are not what I mean by "his fans" - a lot of people like his music. I'm talking about the morons who idolize HIM.
And yes, your Bush analogy is a good one - and I think it might even be the same human failing at work - that difficulty we all have admitting to ourselves that we've bet on the wrong horse.

What the hell is wrong with you narrow minded prudes?

As far as I'm concerned an artist of the stature of Michael Jackson should be free stick his dick into whoever he likes, where ever he likes and however he likes.
I'd bet most would be flattered.

He wrote Thriller! WTF is wrong with you guys?

Have you ever heard Oprah talk on air about what she thinks of Michael Jackson? She is a celebrity of note and has met MJ and his friends, family and inlaws. She doesn't seem to be speaking out against him for the fame or money and she can't be accused of racism against the guy. She has said on air that he is a sick twisted freak of a fark.

That's the way I understand the law USC TITLE 18 PART I CHAPTER 110 § 2256 (1) (B) (iii) graphic or simulated lascivious exhibition of the genitals or pubic area of any person;

Great, now everyone knows I Googled "child pornography laws." When I get arrested for my planned crime spree and my ISP gets subpoenaed this will look bad.

No, people take pictures of their naked children all the time. It's not pornography unless there's something sexual going on.

Garage sale at Neverland, kids clothes are half off.

BTW the ography part of pornography should give you a clue that paintings are not pornography.
