2002-08-25 12:44:22 PM
They shut cut this guy some slack.
It's not like I haven't accidentally fallen over and garroted my girlfriend with piano-wire before. Could happen to anyone.

"It just went boom!" Beaver Falls Police Capt. Jeff Becze said Wednesday

Thank you, I feel much safer now.

Someone please teach this guy how to play Russian Roulette.

2002-08-25 12:45:03 PM
Notice there is nothing in the Constitution about having to take an IQ test to own a gun??

"Someone please teach this guy how to play Russian Roulette."
...with a semi-automatic...

2002-08-25 12:46:27 PM
There is nothing in the constitution saying that idiots don't have the same rights as others.

2002-08-25 12:46:43 PM
Oh yeah sure, just like those people that accidently stab someone 57 times

2002-08-25 12:46:46 PM

"I just told him, 'Dude, just stand back here and relax.' "

Where the hell did this cop learn his police skills?

Dude you're going to jail.

2002-08-25 12:55:12 PM
He figured he needed to prove to the cops just how big an idiot he was.

Not that the cops were the swiftest boats on the pond.

Then the Gun was like beep beep beep beep and shot me. kind of a bummer. Now I have a S&W .45.

2002-08-25 01:06:48 PM
I find it odd that the suspect was allowed to run around a crime scene with a weapon.

2002-08-25 01:13:17 PM

Now honestly, why would Randy Johnson shoot someone?

2002-08-25 01:25:53 PM
Notice there is nothing in the Constitution about having to take an IQ test to own a gun??

As a responsible gun owner, an IQ test for gun ownership would be ok with me. As well as for voting and for having children.

2002-08-25 01:27:59 PM
Johnston ejected the bullet clip from the gun and told Chichy it was safe, then pointed it at the mattress and pulled the trigger. The one round remaining in the chamber fired into the mattress.

Good thing they cuffed him after that, he might have reloaded the clip to see if it works every time...

2002-08-25 01:28:24 PM
what was he doing in the first place?

heeeey baby... i got a big loaded gun for you righhhht here....

BiCuriousGeorge: Notice there is nothing in the Constitution about having to take an IQ test to own a gun??

Jjorsett: As a responsible gun owner, an IQ test for gun ownership would be ok with me. As well as for voting and for having children.

Ah, but you can't accidentally shoot your girlfriend with your vote or your three-year old....unless the three-year old has a gun. Stupid people don't bother voting anyway...not unless they collect social security or welfare. They do have a lot of kids though....

2002-08-25 01:35:38 PM
Hey BiCuriousGeorge, apparently you failed the IQ test too because if you actually understood what you read the article clearly stated that the gun was stolen so he didn't own it legally. Three words for you and I hope you can understand them: Eat a dick.

Fark a Duckk

2002-08-25 01:35:48 PM
Barfooz: No kiddin'! You see the video of him takin' out the bird with a pitch? Cheep, cheep, . Just tell the cops he had a wild pitch and she was in the way...

2002-08-25 01:38:43 PM
The bullet from the .22-caliber gun hit Sager in the left side, nicking her large intestine.

"nicking her large intestine"....is that like a polite euphemism for anal sex?

2002-08-25 01:39:28 PM
How did the dumbass manage to obtain the gun again after the police arrived. You'd think that they would have done something with the gun as opposed to just leave it laying around.

2002-08-25 01:51:43 PM
Must be a small town. Unfortunately a similar incident happened here a couple of weeks ago. A female officer tried to cut a woman a break and let her go to the restroom and she came out with a gun and killed the cop. People wonder why the police seem to go overboard at times and take apparently unwarrented precautions, but you just never know what can happen.

2002-08-25 01:52:38 PM
Was it Bob Barr?

"It just went boom!" Beaver Falls Police Capt. Jeff Becze said Wednesday.

Nothing like surrounding yourself with the best and the brightest.

2002-08-25 02:17:30 PM
Johnston called police and said the gun had gone off while he was cleaning it

I explained many a bathroom accident with that line during my adolecense:

"Honest mum. I was just cleaning it & it went off".

Still, Beaver Falls, what do you expect?

Beaver Falls. Of course the beaver is going to fall if you shoot her and nick her intestine.

2002-08-25 02:45:42 PM
"Hey y'all, watch this!"

"'Naw, it ain't loaded!"

"Trust me"

Another dumbass Johnston.

None of the people standing nearby was hurt.
At least no one were hurt when he shooted the matress.

2002-08-25 03:48:38 PM
Okay this guy is an idiot, but someone tell me what the fark is up with this shiattake:

"Johnston, 20, of 43 Mount Washington Apartments, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, simple assault and receiving stolen property."

Sounds to me like the guy commited TWO crimes, not FOUR. He spun a gun around and causing someone to be shot by accident, and he recieved stolen property.

And I wouldn't even consider "receiving stolen property" a crime if you don't know the property is stolen.

Maybe someone could argue that spinning the gun and shooting someone with it accidentally are two seprate crimes, (But I don't feel right about the idea charging people with six diffrent crimes when they do one thing.)

But how can you say that he commited BOTH aggrivated assault AND simple assault via the single action of shooting the person by accident?

And anyhow, what is the punishment going to be for all this? If he didn't know the gun was stolen and he's not found guilty of that then he wouldn't got to jail for that, and the other stuff... well he's an idiot. I don't think you should send idiots to jail for several years though. I'm sure the guy feels really bad about what happened and he's learned never to do that again. I just don't think that punishing people for commiting stupid acts they didn't intend to commit is the right thing to do. Maybe his girldfreind who was shot will want revenge and want him to go to jail, but just cause someoen wants revenge that's not a good reason to stick someone in jail.

2002-08-25 03:53:45 PM
Small problem with the title. He accidentally shot it once (maybe... sounds to me like he was playing cowboy and got unlucky). The second time the trigger was pulled completely knowingly, he was just too stupid to realize that taking the magazine out doesn't safe a weapon on its own. Of course, the gun was stolen so it's not like he had the owner's manual or anything.

Just in case you happen upon a gun that isn't yours (or even is yours). It's always loaded, never act like it isn't. Just took the clip out? It's still loaded. Just pulled back the slide 3 times? It's still loaded. I'm surprised the police didn't think that way...

Forget gun control. I want idiot control.

2002-08-25 03:56:26 PM
Oh and what the hell is with this?

"He remained in the Beaver County Jail on Wednesday after he failed to post $100,000 cash bond set by District Justice Ed Howe."

$100,000 bail? Cause he recieved a stolen gun, and accidentally shot his girlfreind? That seems like way too much.

I'm not saying shooting people is okay, but it was an accident. Yeah, twirling the gun was real stupid. Maybe he thought it wasn't loaded. I dunno. You have to be pretty dimitted to twirl a loaded gun around. Either way, if the guy is that stupid, or he thought it wasn't loaded, you can't really blame him. Of course if the guy knew better, and knew it was loaded, and still twirled it around, then I'd consider him grossly negligent.

But regardless, these bails that they've been setting lately seem way too darking high. Nobody could afford to pay that. And it's simply NOT fair to have bail that is a fixed amount of money, just as it's not fair to have fines that are a fixed amount because they treat the rich diffrently from the poor. A rich guy having bail set at 100,000 isn't going to bat an eye at that, and will get to go home, and like OJ, run from the law.

And hell while we're at it, get rid of all private lawyers. Why should the rich be allowed to pay for high quality lawyers while poor have to defend themselves against those high quality lawyers with shiatty lawyers. Everyone should have to take lawyers from the same pool of mediocre lawyers, and they only get one, not five.

And these farking idiots also have NUKES!!!!

No shiat. Guns seem to do that by design for some odd reason.

Well, at least Bob Barr has a hobby to keep him busy.

2002-08-25 05:06:51 PM
Hey.... I shoot my gun at least twice when I'm with a girl and she is always happy as can be! or you guys talking about something else?

2002-08-25 05:19:24 PM
This guy might be smarter than you think. Maybe he wanted to shoot his girlfriend because he was pissed at her, so he did the following:

1. Spun the gun around like Johnny Cowboy to establish the "accident" story.
2. Shot her on purpose.

3. Called the police crying "Accident! Accident!"

4. Supplied further evidence to support his dumbass-with-a-gun story by shooting the gun accidentally a second time.

Maybe this guy is smarter than all of us. Huh??

And maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt.

2002-08-25 06:00:11 PM
He was 20 and had a handgun, he knew it was stolen, he could not have bought it legally.

2002-08-25 07:09:15 PM
Ah, but you can't accidentally shoot your girlfriend with your vote or your three-year old....unless the three-year old has a gun. Stupid people don't bother voting anyway...not unless they collect social security or welfare. They do have a lot of kids though....

But idiots can still cause a lot of pain and suffering with both.
