Shooting a man in the face and then getting him to apologize for being in the way of your shot is the definition of power, my friends.

I am REALLY tempted to go just to see who I can shoot at.

I'm not so sure it's entirely Cheney's fault...the other idiot stepped off the line. However, it's still funny as hell.

I'm not sure whether it's sad or just funny that they have "Republicans" spelled wrong on just about every page.

Oh, he supports that second amendment, eh? Pity he doesn't give two hoots about any other parts of the constitution. Funny how people only bring up the constitution when it suits them.

My favorite thing ever is when people who insist they're right about everything get something as simple as their own name wrong.

howemi01: I thought you were joking. I hoped you were joking. Not because I'm a Republican, but because I'm an American. That's sad.

On a different note, if it were Democrat or Democratic they misspelled, everyone (including me) would assume it was intentional.

The Alexandria Young Republicans are please to be hosting its first annual paintball tourney

Between the remedial ESL grammar and the inability to spell their own name I think the Alexandria Young Rebuplicans are the ones who created lolcats.

GODDAMMIT, NOTHING IS EVER 'FIRST ANNUAL,' EVER!

And as real Americans are being killed by real bullets, here you sit making snarky comments on fark.com.

There are a lot of serious criticisms you could make about the republican party and all you can come up with is that lame troll?

There are Republicans in Alexandria?

Hi! I'm a proud Republican and an Alexandria resident. Yes, we do exist.

I really hope I'll be able to go to this. I already have something planned for that weekend, but if that doesn't end up happening I'll be down there faster than you can say "boom, headshot".

Last time I was at that paintball field I remember liking it a whole lot. That was a long time ago though, before Pev's bought them up. I'm hoping it's still good, and probably is.

2007-05-15 04:25:16 PM
I only hope partisan bickering won't prevent these young people from getting the funding and paint-proof vests they so desparately need.

2007-05-15 04:40:59 PM
Just for the record, I think it's great they can laugh about themselves. It's definitely a step up from many of the more prominent Republicans.

/If only they'd learn to spell, as well...
//I'd settle for them using a half-decent spell check program.

Ok.

Just a question over the semantic gymnastics in the article.

HOW can it be a "First Annual Dick Cheney Paintball Tournament"? That means that they had one before. They admit the this is the FIRST one they have ever had. They did not have one last year.

What they MUST mean is an "Inaugural Dick Cheney Paintball Tournament".

That is something that always 'chaps my hide'. The mis-use of 'annual'.

/Just sayin'

Isn't the intention to make the tournament a yearly event enough to call it 'annual'? Isn't 'innaugural' just as speculative as 'annual'? If it worked as you say would they have to retroactively change the name of the first tournament from 'inaugural' to 'annual', once they have done it more than once?

My point exactly.

(From Merriam-Webster)

Main Entry: 1 in·au·gu·ral
Pronunciation: i-'no-gy&-r&l, -g(&-)r&l
Function: adjective
1 : of or relating to an inauguration
2 : marking a beginning : first in a projected series

This is the first in a projected series.

This one blows my mind. My co-workers and I are currently enjoying the rather unstructured firing ranges of downtown Baghdad (without the benefit of Safety Orange uniforms) and still manage to avoid shooting each other in the face.

How the hell he managed to not..oh wait. Five deferments. Nevermind.

The Alexandria Young Republicans are made up of active Republicans between the ages of 18 and 40
