To bad they got that crappy 'Space Vulva' stadium.

Supposedly they coulda had an open-air stadium on Lake Michegan, but Selig but the kabbosh on it.

They ever fix the roof open/close mechanism?

Still ... go Brewers. Wearing my old-school MB-mitt hat right now

It's May. I don't expect it to last. I don't expect the NL Central standings in September to look a damn thing like they do now.

Roof works fine. Stadium is amazing. Go Brewers!

See, I submitted this as proof that there can be threads involving MLB teams other than the Sox/Yanks. It just so happens that fans of those other teams don't take an active interest in getting their articles posted on Fark.

Congrats on the good start, Brewers!

/Let's go Red Sox!

Same thing happened to the Tigers last year. Fair weather fans are the worst. I have always loved the Detroit sports teams even the Lions. However, one of these days the Lions will become good and everyone will be rooting for them again. Kind of irritating but is not as bad as teams that are quality and their fans do not appreciate them.

No one should spend their money on a team if the owner refuses to put a competitive product on the field. This idea that you should go out to the ballpark when your team is embarrassingly bad is silly.

That is B.S. Look at the Yankees. They still sellout all of their home games!

Ok OK, "consistently" embarrassingly bad.

I grew up in Milwaukee. Nearly half of my childhood was spent at County Stadium. I refuse to watch baseball not because my team has sucked for about 2 decades, but because MLB needs a damn salary cap! I think a salary cap would make the entire league competitive and it would make baseball fun to watch again. Let's stop pretending its fair for the Yankees to pull championships out of their wallet, and I'll start watching baseball again.

/I will watch the Brewers in the post-season.
//I always watch the World Series anyway.

85 wins will take this division.

Also, no team in MLB will win 100 games this season.

Nice link, KipFurnace! I remember the '82 World Series well. I still loathe the St. Louis Cardinals. I was pissed when they moved the Brewers to the NL because it meant there would never be a rematch of the '82 series. On the bright side it is now possible for them to beat the Yankees in the series. F*CK the Yankees!

I going to my first Brewer game this summer in the last 10+ years. I'm looking forward to seeing the new stadium and plenty of PBR during tailgating.

/go twins

great_tigers: Same thing happened to the Tigers last year. Fair weather fans are the worst.

No one in their right mind pays for season tickets to a team that sucks.

being a hardcore fan is much worse than being a fair weather fan. at least fair weather fans are somewhat rational.

oh, and it's pretty sad if your joy in your team's winning is diminished by other people sharing in the joy.

Hard to call the Brewers fans fair-weather with the way that team's been run over the years. Even the most rabid fans will eventually say 'fark it' if ownership continues to suck for years at a time.

Good for them. Enjoy it.

I've lived in Wisconsin my whole life and I've never known the Brewers to be popular. It's a brave new world.
