FTFA...."The Lyons are now locking their doors, trying to avoid a more dangerous confrontation."

cuz bears are known for the habit of jiggling the door handle before they bust in to eat you.....

Austin's Statesman newspaper website yesterday had a link to this story yesterday, off their main page ... the story itself had a real photo from the incident, but next to the link on the main page they had a picture of Yogi Bear. For some reason that really made me laugh ...

It is all about the little things, I guess ... even if they are little and stupid.
2007-05-10 12:35:44 PM
Omarion is okay though...right?!

No, animals are dumb. The fact that a human said something dumb about what an animal did doesn't condemn the entire species.

Any human could run intellectual circles around any animal. Period. Animals don't have thoughts, ideas, emotions. They just are.

"She tore apart the chest cavity, ripped out the heart and ate it"

This is how my last relationship ended.

Anyone else notice the weird URL?,2933,270936,00.html?=YouCutMyMilkYouTwoFightToT heDeath

WTF is that about, 'you cut my milk'?
2007-05-10 12:37:00 PM
But he suspected the bear would return.

uhmm duh. If he left most of the meat there, there would be no doubt he'd be back to eat the rest of him. I would guess that if you don't want a bear to return angry, don't take his food away from him...especially the food he killed.
2007-05-10 12:37:44 PM
"She tore apart the chest cavity, ripped out the heart and ate it," Gary said. "It was like she knew that's what kept it alive."

As if, you know, the bear had been doing this sort of thing its whole life.
2007-05-10 12:38:55 PM

Any human could run intellectual circles around any animal.

I think we just discovered an exception.

Rednaxel: WTF is that about, 'you cut my milk'?

i think someone probably submitted the link already, but submitter found a way around it and decided to have some fun.

Rednaxel: "Anyone else notice the weird URL?"

Interesting ... seems to be a Family Guy reference. Are the manatees working for Fox news now?
2007-05-10 12:39:28 PM

Do you really believe animals do not have emotions?

Think about that for a second...then come back to earth.
2007-05-10 12:39:41 PM
Oops! Wrong hat.

We need a federal program to distribute pic-nic baskets to needy bears so this sort of senseless violence never happens again!

/perhaps job training, repairing electric typewriters...
//Free Boo-Boo!
2007-05-10 12:43:22 PM
Was the bear their pet? Maybe it was like when a pet cat kills a bird and drops it at the doorstep.
2007-05-10 12:43:39 PM
wheres that pic of kids in school and the teacher says no you can't be a bear and the kid jumps up and bites the teacher in the neck
2007-05-10 12:43:56 PM
My cat killed a mouse the other day by biting it until some red stuff came out, it was almost as if she knew that's when the mouse would die.
2007-05-10 12:44:31 PM
Wow, I laughed at the URL.
2007-05-10 12:45:13 PM

At least we can depend on Bush supporters with a persecution complex to show up...

"Bear livens up Alaska couple's breakfast by killing a moose in their driveway."

For some reason, I read that as "Beer livens up Alaska couple's breakfast by killing a moose in their driveway."

/think I need glasses
//or possibly just more sleep

FTA: Only a few mouthfuls later, the bear left the carcass and ran into the woods.

Moose are made entirely of industrial strength laxative.
