I can't wait to yell this out when I get to work tomorrow morning. I don't watch racing, but I work with a bunch of racing fans who rabidly hate Jeff Gordon. I dunno, something about him being a homo or something.

It's because Jeff Gordon enunciates when he speaks.

#3 Ain't even the top wins for drivers...he probebly would be if he didn't try and get his spoiled kid glory. But then again his death also lead to massive safety improvements.

I love it when Jeff Gordon wins. It brings out the true nature of the core Nascar fans. They can't stand it when a liberal Californian comes in and dominates their sport so they react by throwing beer cans on the track. What a classy bunch.

And did you see Tony Stewart after the race? I've never seen a person whine and cry so much in my life and I have young kids. A true pussy.

if you ever want to assemble all of the junior high dropouts in your area into one place, simply get out the word that there's a NASCAR event going on.

That was nothing. Did any of you see the AWESOME win that "The Mouth" got in Ultimate Poker at Caesar's Palace on NBC?

Seriously! Who would have thought that a five of diamonds would pop from the dealer like that? EVERYONE WAS SCREAMING!

Oh, and you should all have SEEN the absolutely KICKASS length my little brother kicked a chicken in Fable: The Lost Chapters! We thought it was over, but it flew RIGHT UP to the end of the center border without flying into the ocean! Score 500 gold, baby!

Whoa buddy, don't blow your wad while coming up with your oh so funny and clever observations.

What makes those "fans" complete farktards is when (before the event) the president of the race track got on the PA and told everyone that if they threw shiat on the track, they would be arrested. The fact that they knew this and still did it makes them complete farking idiots. Wait a sec, didn't I see Pibb getting walked out in cuffs??

2007-04-29 10:59:49 PM
Apparently the officials at the Talledaga raceway informed fans before the race that in the event of Jeff Gordon's win, throwing anything on the track but rolls of toilet tissue would result in arrests. Sheriff's deputies were on hand and they were arresting miscreants that tossed full beverage cans out onto the track.

I saw on the broadcast only one roll of toilet tissue on the track - one of those industrial sized ones.

Perhaps not, but Christians from California are often liberal.

For the long-time fans, Jeff Gordon is the face of mainstreamization of the sport. I would say "runaway corporatism" but that's kinda always been the point of it all.

But NASCAR today is so fundamentally different than it was 10 years ago.

And for a lot of the rednecks, yeah, he's a pretty-boy California gay etc.

2007-04-29 11:01:38 PM
Gordon is a good driver. I still don't like him, but throwing shiat onto the track is just ignorant. I'm glad those fans got arrested. now NASCAR should file restraining orders against them and keep them out of all NASCAR events. As usual a few idiots make all us other nascar fans look like morons.

2007-04-29 11:02:42 PM
Yeah, a few people were arrested and they deserve it. I don't like Jeff Gordon either but throwing garbage on the track is even worse than him winning.

2007-04-29 11:03:35 PM
I'm not a Gordon fan, but I have to hand it to him the way he handles the fans. The man has class.

2007-04-29 11:03:51 PM
My ten-year-old NASCAR-loving son is very happy about this, Gordon's his favorite driver. (I think it's because they're the same size...)

I only started paying attention to NASCAR when my kid did, which was well after Earnhart died, so can someone explain something to me -- I know there was a rivalry between Earnhart Sr. and Gordon. From what little I've heard about Earnhart as a person, I know that he was a shrewd businessman who could concievably take a cue from professional wrestling and use a rivalry to whip up fans' interest, making money for himself and for the sport in general. I've also heard accounts that he was a nice guy off the track. My question is this: Did he really hate Jeff Gordon personally, or was that mostly staged?

Gordon said after the race (paraphrasing here)that as a rookie he'd go out of his way to see what Dale was doing. If Dale had success doing it, then it was something Gordon should learn to do.

NASCAR isn't my favorite thing in the world but there's no party like an infield party the night before the race.

I am a NASCAR fan. Mainly because I'm in my cousin's fantasy league, which makes things interesting, but becasue it's not bad to watch...especially in the last 20 laps or so when they fight to the finish.

I dont think that Gordon and Earnhardt hated eachother. It was mostly the fans. It is roughly the same difference that is found between Raiders fans and 49er fans.

2007-04-29 11:12:21 PM
I hate it when this stuff goes green on the main page. Because all it does is assemble all the people who want a chance to bash NASCAR openly. Seriously, give it up, I don't even remotely consider your opinions relevant other than they point out that you know Jack shiat about NASCAR.

With all due respect to Will Rogers, I never met a NASCAR fan I didn't not like.

Wow. Please ignore my horrible grammar in that last post. I deserve ridicule for that.

2007-04-29 11:13:18 PM
So I have a question: How did Gordon get labeled a liberal? He's only from California when they're racing in California. He's from Indiana when they race at Indy.

Besides, Harvick's from California, nobody throws anything on the track when he wins. Same goes for Robby Gordon. Believe it or not, outside the world of Fark, things can be broken up past who's a liberal and who's not.

2007-04-29 11:13:50 PM
It reminded me of MLB Battery night. As for the Hillbilly part. look at the infield during a race at all those 100K motor homes the fans are sitting on top of, those are their 2nd homes!

Go Fast Turn Left

Gordon came out against Bush a couple of times a few years back, and also derided one of the other drivers for putting a W sticker on his car in '04. I somehow can't find a citation for these, but it was pretty common knowledge at the time. Dale Jr. is probably the next closest due to the fact that he took his crew to see An Inconvenient Truth. The rest of them are unabashedly pro-Bush.
