That's what I've always wanted.
An ugly orange muscle car with a huge racist symbol on the top.
Do they throw in the faggy horn for free?

strangeguitar

i'm guessing your neighbors would throw something other than the faggy horn at it....

2007-04-27 01:27:10 PM
It's not "the" car (or any of the other ones) from the series.

Cool ride, though.

500,000? (p) That's nucking futz.

Oh please. It's a farking flag. Get over it.

Though I think the General Lee is ugly as sin, the Confederate Battle Flag is not a "racist" symbol by any means.

heritage, not hate. nice use of the term "faggy" though... shows how tolerant and open minded you are.

Might as well be a pickup with a bad bearing.

A mid-late 1970's Chrysler product?

I got $6 right here for it.

We have redesigned that flag a bunch of times, did you move to Canada over it? Didn't think so.

/you'll get over it

Ugly car. Was born in the 80s so I really don't get the whole Dukes of Hazzard thing.

2007-04-27 02:10:48 PM
Day-um. Wish I had a whole ton of money that I was too stupid to find better uses for, I'd buy it.

Said it before, I'll say it again... The General Lee was the only one of the iconic TV cars of the era that was cool not because of the car itself, but because of what it was used for and who drove it. Do you think Knight Rider woulda been cool if Michael drove a normal car?

Well we don't get the Backstreet Boys thing.

1969 was in the mid to late 70's? the late 60's charger R/T was regarded as one of the best cars of its day, even though it weighed alot, it had to power to over come it.

2007-04-27 02:14:15 PM
Why the hell would anyone buy it? You know just from the show that the suspension is totally farked, not to mention the subtle lack of functioning doors...

2007-04-27 02:14:33 PM
Hey I wasn't trying to insult anyone. I'm sure those shows were extremely entertaining. There's certainly not too much entertaining about modern progamming.

2007-04-27 02:14:39 PM
I don't want the car, but Schneider turned out to be kind of a class act. He bought the car because he liked it and wanted to drive it, and not just to live in the past. He made a good Pa Kent too, IMHO.

2007-04-27 02:14:39 PM
Does it come with chains on the back?

2007-04-27 02:15:26 PM
Yeah, I'd love to see the CarFAX report on this one ;)

I used to get i and out of my father's Camero through the passenger side window like the Duke boys. It didn't go so well when i tried the same move in Uncle Bucky's Cadillac.

/power windows were a luxury at the time
//got my head rolled up in the window. Uncle Bucky pushed the button while simultaneously grooving to Millie Jackson.
///I got over it

Wait until you come upon Sid and Marty Krofft's "The Krofft Supershow"

You'll need to be on drugs to appreciate them.

I want one of those, only in dark blue. With a big US flag on the top. I'll call it the General Sherman. The horn will play "Marching Through Georgia."

/suck it rebs
//you'll get over it
///hypothetical car would get vandalized anyway

2007-04-27 02:16:44 PM
By the way, regarding the whole "It's not THE General Lee" thing... no shiat. There were over 300 General Lees made for the show. As I recall, however, the one Schneider has was one of those 300s.

I'd rather get this:

Ahh, I see you're new here. Insults, snarky comments and belittling people is what happens here.

Sorry

From the auction:

One more detail, there is an article coming out in a major car magazine where this car is compared and raced against the Starsky and Hutch car, and the Batmobile. Guess who won?

I hadn't been planning on bidding, but this little detail sealed the deal. It also didn't hurt that the auction also says that "Buy It Now" winners get as a bonus one full month of chauffeur and butler service from Bo Duke himself.

The farking car was airborne in every episode. It does not surprise me that they needed more than one.

I would so buy a general sherman.

Actually, that's a hilarious idea, and I fully support it.

There were a few episodes in which you could actually see the fenders crunching upon impact but in the next scene the car was brand spanking new.

2007-04-27 02:23:27 PM
Hey, remember that time the General Lee got airborne and jumped over a river, but it landed safely in some hay bales? That was a great episode.

It would be hilarious to paint that tiny car from the WII commercial just like general lee.

Jesus Christ on a stick - if you ever make one I'll gladly buy it.

But not for half a mil.

I knew an idiot that drove an exact replical of this car - his first name was Orville. What a dipshiat.

When I was in MT there was hardly any TV so we watched the Dukes while drinking beer and listening to Psychedelic Furs

2007-04-27 02:27:57 PM
meh. The term fag doesn't really bother me. If you must label me, that one is as good as any. I figure it's your problem, not mine.

ReisFlynn: Do you think Knight Rider woulda been cool if Michael drove a normal car?

No but KITT was waaaaay better than General Lee, and still is. I mean, KITT wasn't just a car, it was one of the important character. General Lee was just a car that they drove.

UnFark: I can't understand why people think the Confederate flag is a racist symbol.

Uh, did you not notice that the last photo had an American flag?

If that flag is considered racist by association, then I'll call rap criminal behavior by association.
