good for them. totally expected here.

/fark the news

NBC doesnt give a damn whether or not the families come on at this point. They got all the exclusive exposure that they needed from that idiot all ready.

2007-04-19 01:17:48 PM
If there is no punishment in the afterlife I'd call this a success for Cho.

He got everything he wanted: dead people, his manifesto shown around the world, revenge, and fame.

2007-04-19 01:18:22 PM
As if you didn't watch it.

2007-04-19 01:18:33 PM
I don't blame NBC for wanting ratings, but I agree that it's pretty screwed up that they aired the video.

2007-04-19 01:18:48 PM
Good for them, fark NBC!

2007-04-19 01:19:05 PM
Oh totally. There are far better things to do in a time of mourning. I'm sure there's a spot on Letterman or something they could fill.

What kind of losers are going on TV a couple of days after their kids are killed?

2007-04-19 01:19:26 PM
Is it better NOT to show it?

2007-04-19 01:19:30 PM
They should have canceled due to the culturing. If my family members or friends are ever offed like this or in some other big deal, I will tell the newsmen to go fark themselves.

Winnar. Nothing more needs to be said.

I hope to watch the slow-roasting of Gonzales and crew instead of this asshole soon.

Things like this make me wish there was an afterlife.

2007-04-19 01:19:44 PM
Excellent. Hopefully they all boycott NBC for their blatant attention and ratings whoring. I watched the morning news and have found it rather disturbing to see a larger than life size Cho on my big screen pointing a gun at me in my living room. Its one thing if its a movie, this was real. Entirely too real.

NBC wanted to get in Cho's mind?

That should be easy, there's a hole all the way through.

/ Don't give the guy infamy, damn it.

2007-04-19 01:21:48 PM
NBC is only there for the money. The news industry left its morals at the door. Same goes for ABC, CBS, Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc.

2007-04-19 01:21:52 PM
That stupid emo killer sounds like a retarded napoleon dynamite.

2007-04-19 01:21:56 PM
Everywhere I look, there is a picture of that bastard!

2007-04-19 01:22:27 PM
Perhaps NBC's airing of this video will lend psychopaths everywhere the encouragement they need to carry out their inane, twisted revenge plots.

We should cheer NBC for sticking up for the rights and feelings of psychopaths everywhere.

Then again, since many of you idiots don't understand sarcasm or irony, I should just stop speaking, because I don't want to get arrested for saying words.

2007-04-19 01:22:32 PM
The media has blood on their hands. They are glorifying the killer. I wonder how many potential killers this will influence, especially as it provides them them a forum after their death to deliver their message to the world.

2007-04-19 01:22:47 PM
I haven't watched it.

I don't watch TV, and I haven't clicked on any of the sicko's videos on the Web. That makes me, by my reckoning, the one person in America who didn't give ratings to that shiatheel.

Here is what scares me: somewhere out there, some other sociopath is reading that Cho's rampage is the worst mass murder in US history, and thinking...I can beat that.

2007-04-19 01:23:06 PM
Lesson to be learned for all future suicide-murderers:
Send your videos to NBC.

MayoBoy: What kind of losers are going on TV a couple of days after their kids are killed?

I can tell you as someone who lost people I knew on Monday, my initial revulsion at these media vultures was overcome by an overwhelming need to honor those I knew, by describing their lives and spirit to anyone who would listen. I never thought I would do that.

I even lowered myself to speak to a FoxNews camera.

2007-04-19 01:25:25 PM
On the morning of the shootings, MSNBC was interviewing one of the students who had been in the building and the FIRST question they asked hiim was "What was the race of the shooter". That, of course, is as important as "what color hair was the . . ., what color eyes, how big was the nose of the . . .

Of couse we all know that the VAST majority of mass murders in this country have been done by pale males (of which I am one).

For this I have put a ban on all NBC news for the foreseeable future.

I also see that Fred Phelps is planning to do his thing at the funerals - probably in bad taste here but I'd not shed a tear if someone cho'd him and his band.

Who cares about Cho, it's the victims families that should have all of the air time. But they don't sell.

PeopleFirst: revenge

What was he avenging?

/Really, no clue?

2007-04-19 01:26:33 PM
Was it just me, or did Matt seem giddy? Yes, I watched this morning and many of you did, too. I found it interesting how he went on and on about the families canceling, what a hard decision it was to put it out there, how there was even disagreement in the newsroom about the decision....ROLL TAPE!
/I miss Katie!

2007-04-19 01:26:34 PM
I totally and competely agree with their decision. The media in this country should be biatch-slapped, cock-punched and thrown out of a moving car a few times.

Problem here is that they are only boycotting NBC. Granted they were the first to air this slimeball's crap, but I defy anyone to show me any major newspaper in the country and/or any television news station that either doesn't have a huge front page picture of this demented assh*le or isn't running she shiat out of the video now.

It is absolutely deplorable that we are force fed this kind of lunacy simply for the sake of ratings. I'd rather see another month of non-stop Imus/Sharpton/Anna Nicole/Duke Rape Case coverage than to have to see that shiatbag's face one more time.

Let alone the blatent disregard and lack of respect for the vicitms and their families...

fireclown: Is it better NOT to show it?

Yes.

The cops need to see this. The university officials need to see this. Mental health professionals need to see this. The world doesn't.

Props to the Hokies who are shunning the media. There is nothing more to report now, get off the campus.

2007-04-19 01:26:48 PM
HUMONGO,

I don't blame NBC for wanting ratings, but I agree that it's pretty screwed up that they aired the video.

Why is it screwed up?

I'd say that the manifesto of the killer is more newsworthy than an interview with the parents of the dead kids.

2007-04-19 01:26:53 PM
I've lost two family members to gun violence. The last thing I wanted to do was get my mug on TV. It's like when the parents of the boy that was held by that sicko for four years flung him in front of Queen Oprah's cameras. People deal with grief in their own way I guess.

2007-04-19 01:27:05 PM
I think that even worse than their decision to show it yesterday, was today's self-congratulatory fawning over their difficult decision to air the video, but with the sensitivity in which they did it.

Everyone knows you were going to show it. Nobody believes it was a hard decision, because it was guaranteed ratings, and NBC could be the first. They did what they were going to to. It's debatable whether it was appropriate. But patting themselves on the back for something that was nothing but a buisness decision is a little revolting.

2007-04-19 01:27:22 PM
If it wasn't sent to NBC it would have gone to another company. Ever single one of them, CNN, CBS, ABC, FOX, would have shown it.

Everybody knows "30 Rock", they were the easiest to ship it to.

2007-04-19 01:27:26 PM
I was pretty shocked when I saw it being aired last night. Couldn't they at least waited a week or two.

If it bleeds it leads.

2007-04-19 01:27:36 PM
I had a feeling that would happen. I bet NBC was happy to be ones to receive the package in the mail. More ratings. Pretty sick.

2007-04-19 01:27:51 PM
pretty scummy to show the stuff on national TV, but what would you expect? class? decency? puh-leeeeze.

/least it got imus off the goddamned TV though.

NBC = YouTube for Serial Killers. Film at 11.

If people wouldn't watch it they wouldn't play it. I'm willing to bet the ratings for last night were through the roof. NBC are in business to make money. Stop watching it.

atpgod: What was he avenging?

Perceived wrongs by his peers and the rejection of him by women.
