...there's nothing like milking dead people out of their money. I gotta get into that business

I have attended my share of funerals in Taiwan where they use feng-shui practitioners to align the casket in a precise manner. This leads to a jumbled look to the cemetery. They also don't use embalming and put the casket in a room in the house and hold services three times a day for seven weeks. The caskets are airtight as you might guess and the bodies are only buried for a period of ten year or so then they are dug up and the bones are put into jars.

According to state laws I doubt if the people buried in this Houston cemetery will be allowed to follow these practices. But whatever gives people comfort.

I live in Houston...

And this cemetary is literally RIGHT outside my office.

I'm on the 6th floor and have looked down on that construction everyday for what seems like a whole year.

It's actually quite nice looking...however, when I called the cemetary to see what all the commotion was about, they claimed that it WAS NOT for the asian community, specifically...that it was just the theme they went with for their park.
I figured she was lying, considering the pagodas and such...
Still...

It's trippy to see it on Fark.

Rawhead Rex

Is your office on Dairy Ashford, just north of westheimer? My Dad's office is located there and I remember seeing construction for what I thought was some Asian themed park

Feng shui is just about the least believable mumbo-jumbo crap I've ever seen. Even back when I believed in psychic phenomena (yeah, I used to be a believer) I couldn't swallow feng shui.

+1 for spelling "cemetery" correctly.

self-imposed "minus one-half" for capitalizing feng shui.
