And yet, strangely enough, nobody in the military seems to want this position. What do they know that we don't?

He who set the goat for Azazel free shall wash his clothes and bathe his body in water; after that he may reenter the Republican Party.

Speaking as a charter member of the vast Right Wing Conspiracy, I can not believe how the Bush administration keeps stepping on it's collective d..k. What the hell use is the Joint Chiefs of Staff?

These retired generals are not patriotic!! They support terrorism!1

\who really knows, they have their reasons

Uh, Mr. President, That is YOUR job. YOU are the Commander in Cheif of the Military. You cannot farm out YOUR job like you have with everything else. It is the GOVERNMENTS responsibility to maintain a military fighting system. You have farmed that out to mercenary organizations run by your freinds and corporate owners. You cannot farm out the command structure as well. That is YOUR job.

It is time to start DOING YOUR JOB Mr. retard President. I know, work is hard, but you have to start doing it. Most people gave you that little extra time to learn how work works. But now its time for you to actually start doing it, Mr. President. Its not so bad once you get into it. It'll go by quicker if you just lean into the effort and concentrate on doing the job.

Work isn't such a bad thing Mr. President, lots of people do work. It's one of the things that made America great. Of course, lots of people cant find jobs that will actually pay the families bills since you took on this job, but most people don't have the silver platter you had. Most people actually had to use their muscles and minds as they were growing up, and that takes effort. Real, physical and mental EFFORT, Mr. President. Its time you started learning what other people learned when they were kids. Work is hard. Suck it up. It'll make a "man" out of you.

I'll take the job

Officials said they were still considering options to reorganize the White House's management of the two wars, the Post said.

How about having listened to common sense in the first place?

. . . And how about inventing a machine that eats neocons and pisses gasoline while you're at it.

.

2007-04-11 08:25:48 AM
The failure of these wars is a direct result of the micromanagement from the white house. Take them out of the equation, and we are not in Iraq or Afghanistan. Attempting to create yet another bureaucratic agency to cover their failure is very symbolic of their administration.

Remember way back in 2000, when one of Bush's campaign promises was to fix the military that Clinton had broken?

/Give a man's job to a boy, and this is what you get.
//Probably would have been better off using some of the critters from the zoo to make executive decisions, perhaps then at least some of those decisions would have been correct.

2007-04-11 08:26:20 AM
Maybe they should outsource the job. Shame they hanged Saddam; he'd have been perfect.

2007-04-11 08:27:52 AM
They want to outsource the Joint Chiefs of Staff?
or is this an admission that they have screwed-up and now are looking for some chowderhead to come in and take the heat for them? "Ah, that's his job and...ah...he's the guy that's responsible" War lord guy, you're doing a heck of a job.

Where's the Do Not Want doggie?

2007-04-11 08:43:01 AM
As someone else mentioned, that position already exists, and is known as the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_Chiefs_of_Staff

What good does hiring another sycophant do? Give him another voice in his ear telling him that his new clothes are, indeed, beautiful?

Bush, how about letting these guys handle it if it's too hard for you?

Because what we need is yet another layer of bureaucracy!
/sick of an administration that's functionally retarded
//no... that's an insult to people who are retarded

2007-04-11 09:25:20 AM
So what happened to the "War President" and "Decider-in-chief"?

2007-04-11 09:33:25 AM
Maybe he could find a corporate sponsor and get Swartzkoff to come back.

Got nutin

2007-04-11 09:44:21 AM
That's the worst lipogram I've ever seen.

2007-04-11 09:47:18 AM
As opposed to the repeat thread in which I posted I could not do this job. I have rethought my decision and decided now that I can in fact do it.

I'll build my own army, with hookers and blackjack...

Wait... we already have one of those.. ok.. add booze!

Nope, got that too..

Why aren't we winning this thing again?

"The very fundamental issue is, they don't know where the hell they're going," Sheehan told the Post.

"So rather than go over there, develop an ulcer and eventually leave, I said, 'No, thanks,' " Sheehan told the paper.

I like this guy. Too bad any general that thinks like ends up "retiring."

They should make the title "Warlord". More people would apply for the job of Warlord than 'scapegoat'.

Ah yes, Washington wildlife. Home of the yellow-bellied chickenhawk, whose shrill cry can be heard far and wide. And the warbling prevaricator, with its bright red plumage. Interestingly, it's the only bird with two right wings, which explains why it is doomed to extinction. Among the unusual beasts in Washington are the chrome-domed waffler, whose spots are always changing, and the wiley swine-like Politicus americanus which has a symbiotic relationship with the pin-striped weasel -- an animal that actually poops gold. There are also gaggles of inkstained wildebeest, which bleat in unison and repeat whatever they are told.

Some people fondly remember the rare Monica's swallow, which hasn't been seen around here in about a decade.

That's worth a golf clap, Subby.

2007-04-11 01:10:44 PM
Round of applause for subby! This is farking at its best!

On another note, I'll sooo be the scapegoat, if it means I can stand up in front of the nation, go, "Sorry guys, all of this... totally my bad. Let's bring our troops home. They shouldn't needlessly suffer on account of my jackassary."

2007-04-11 01:56:10 PM
I don't know if it's bad form to claim one's subbiness, but you're all being so kind, I just wanted to say thanks. Thanks.

The headline is almost too clever...
