farking romney is already running campaign ads.

Romney added: "Shooting a rabbit with a single-shot .22 is pretty hard, and after watching me try for a couple of weeks, (my cousins) said, `We'll slip you the semiautomatic. You'll do better with that.' And I sure did."

When I was a kid, I used to shoot chipmunks with a .22. And he's complaining about rabbits? What an idiot.

He's trying to paint himself as the gun and hunter lover, but if you gave him a gun, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn while standing inside the barn.

So?
The dude is a busy man.
Maybe subby would like to enlighten us how many times you have to go hunting to belong to the Lifelong Hunter's Club.

Romney's a liberal Republican. What we want is a conservative. Somebody like Fred Thompson. Romney can play footsie with the rest of the Massholes

It's sad when this liberal elitist is more of a gun nut than a leading Republican presidential contender.

/Loves me some guns, loves me some transfer payments

The difference is, when Romney says it, the GOPers will instantaneously believe that Romney is rural.

Democrats want to fall in love, GOPers just want to fall in line.

IPOOPONU

I'd say, maybe 10 seasons. Honestly, if at the age of 24 I can claim to be a lifelong hunter under those criteria, it's not too much to ask of a 60 year old who's claiming it.

And his second time doesn't even count. He was in a caged wildlife preserve. It's not hunting if they restrain the birds until you're ready to shoot. DO YOU HEAR ME DICK CHENEY???

Hunters who buy their outdoor time "by the bird" should be denied licenses. Be a real hunter and leave the suburbs.

Romney is a lying scumbag just like every politician. He'll say anything he thinks will get him elected, they all will. An honest man can't compete.

He's a New Englander with a funny accent.

Question: Maybe subby would like to enlighten us how many times you have to go hunting to belong to the Lifelong Hunter's Club.

Answer: More than twice

I've been hunting three times and would not consider myself a "Lifelong hunter".

Still, hes got to be a better hunter than Cheney.

Thin-skinned AND pedantic- just the way I like you GOP fanboys.

I was referring to the "lifelong" aspect of Georgie's Texas life; the rest of your obtuse rant I've already addressed .

Smeggy Smurf: Romney's a liberal Republican.

Coulda fooled me. He's going very far out of his way to prove how right-wing he is.

Tough shiat, we don't want him. We would be quite grateful if somone gave him some powerless gov't job that gave him a reason to STAY THE HELL AWAY.

Hint: Make your lack of connection to your voters into a self-deprecating joke. If you can, elaborate on how the people you're with will put you to shame in their local activity. The honesty and perceived humility may win you more supporters than a flat-out lie.

Counter_Intelligent

It seems you've stumbled upon the strategy of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. It doesn't work as well for Republicans though. Republicans won't vote for you if you don't constantly tell them how much better you are than them. It's a strange inferiority complex taht afflicts the most self-hating misanthropes in our society.

2007-04-05 02:21:49 PM
Why can't you just say you support the right to bear arms? I'm a liberal and am pretty comfortable with the level of gun control in this country. We all recognize that the 2nd amend dosen't let you get a stinger missle. Why do these guys (from either side ) have to dress up in camo and go out and kill things to appear, they look like douches. At the same time the Vice President's hunting practices are disturbing, up to 70 birds in one outing?(WTF)

Why do politicians say that they're "strong" and "decisive," while their opponents are a bunch of flip-floppers? Because those values are manly.

Like most other photo ops, the hunting trips are just a bunch of stupid machismo intended to persuade the stupid voter.

Whew. Good thing the_gospel_of_tu_quoque is on the case, or we might have forgotten that Kerry was a fake douchebag. Of course this is highly pertinent to Romney's multiple policy 180's.

Smeggy Smurf Romney's a liberal Republican.

Guessing Romney's true political beliefs is pretty difficult. I'd guess that he's more of a moderate. But depending on the voting base, he stretches his image as far to the left as possible, or as far to the right as possible.

Of course I voted for Kerry. The current Douche in Charge has led this nation into a huge foriegn policy blunder. Kerry represented my values more than GWB. It Doesn't mean I agree with everything Kerry stands for, unlike some people who carry the water for folks regardless of their actions. We've had Mittster here in Mass, and if you think he's got the stuff good luck to you.

It has nothing to do with hurt feelings you partisan hack. It has everything to do with your M.O. of turning threads where the GOP is obviously being idiotic/hypocritical/criminal towards Democrats via transparent tu quoque fallacies.

2007-04-05 03:20:05 PM
Anybody who didn't vote for Kerry is responsible for terrible damage to our country. It's your fault that POTUS is no longer the leader of the free world, and may never be again.

\\it's true, though

Since he's an old pro, I think he should go hunting with Cheney. Romney can even 'flush' the birds out of the cages for Cheney to shoot at.

2007-04-05 03:26:51 PM
I was going to post something defamatory about Romney's political beliefs but noone can figure out what they are.

He's killin' rabbits for our freedoms.

2007-04-05 03:45:12 PM
Give the guy a break. He's sixty years old. He probably forgot that he only went hunting twice.

Perhaps an IQ / senility test could be incorporated into the election somehow...that could prevent some problems.

2007-04-05 03:53:47 PM
Awesome, I hope it ends up being Romney VS Obama!

That would make it a fair fight.

As Masshole (and proud of it) for a number of years, I've had the lovely experience of being under a Romney-led government. Let's just say that if the planets align and he is elected president, I'm running for the hills. I know that politicians are supposed to be slippery, slimy motherfarkers, but this one... scares the bejeesus out of me. I believe the word I'm looking for (to use a slang term) is poser.

What does it say about our country that A) He felt the need to lie about hunting to make himself out to be a better qualified candidate for President of the United States and B) That a Man that would lie about hunting to make himself out to be a better qualified candidate for President of the United States is a serious contender for the office? C)That People have already given this man over 20 million dollars of their money to run for President of the United States?

It is really scary when you think about it.
