I'm sure New Hampshire is a lovely place, but we've got parking lots out here in California that're bigger than their whole state.

Preliminary polls have her leading out here too.

Leonid: I still believe Obama will overtake Clinton. No reason to panic.

Sigh...I don't think so. People are still scared of the black man.

As unpopular as Clinton is in some areas, I don't think the Demos will give up their shot at the southern and mid-western states that would be outright lost if Obama ran.

I think they'd go with Edwards before they'd go with Obama.

Clinton, then Edwards, then Gore, then a brick, then a dead horse, and then, maybe, Obama.

/Likes Obama.

Bush I was only in office 4 years before getting punted out by Clinton in 92. Otherwise you're spot on.

In a way, I have a sadistic desire to see Hillary win. To begin with, she may turn out to be non-swiftboatable. They've already thrown everything they've got at her two or three times over. But the truly glee-inspiring thought is the chagrin of the wingnuts when SATAN HISSEF in the form of a JEZ YEW BAYUL ascends to the White House. And of course, Satan Jr. in the form of my man Billy Boy, who still gives the bilious class a case of the urps, would be back in the spotlight. Oh, how Ann Coulter would froth! What vile eructations of spleen would emit from the vomitous mouth of Hannity! I think I'll just roll over and shoot off at the mere thought of it.

.

DrGunsforHands: Reagan's last 4 years, Reagan wasn't exactly in tip-top shape.

Ah. Gotcha. I was assuming that it was Nancy who was in charge during that time.

Kind of like Hillary. Will she really be allowed to be in charge for ANOTHER 8 years?

2007-04-03 09:20:14 PM
Stewart/Colbert '08!

By the time 2008 actually rolls around, I will be so sick of all the candidates I will be praying for a meteor to land on whatever "debate" venue most of them are gathered in.

"Smoking Hole '08!"

Is it just me or the democrats have the door wide open after the Bush disaster and they are closing it by having either a woman or a black man run for presidency ?

I'm not American and just asking... not passing any judgements. What are the chances a woman could become president ? Wouldn't some random WASP be a better choice?

2007-04-03 09:25:41 PM
God, I was so happy when the 2004 elections were over. All those signs on the lawns and those stupid commercials. Its like watching fighting third graders on those commercials. And of course, that annoying 'vote or die' or 'rock the vote' crap shown on MTV after the music vid....er...'Real World' marathons everyday.

During that time, our school paper (Rutgers) had the editorial page whored out to politics for 3 months. I know politics is important, but people don't want to read about the election all the time during Calc class. That made me applied to be an opinion columnists so I can put some variety in the paper, ranging from censorship to Homer Simpson vs Peter Griffin.

/'Vote or Die?'
//How about 'Kiss my ass.'

Wouldn't some random WASP be a better choice?

I think this would play very well as an Edwards '08 slogan.

2007-04-03 09:27:18 PM
GO G W BUSH!!!

/abolish term limits

2007-04-03 09:27:51 PM
The Dems lose all hope if they do not field a Richardson/Obama candidate.

Make that Colbert/Stewart...I doubt Colbert would ever be second fiddle to Stewart in an election :P

Not her specifically, but her astrologer.

2007-04-03 09:29:12 PM
Can it be safely assumed that a Republican won't win this term? I mean, given the past 8 years, people aren't too happy with the party.

/This election will be like 'Choose your favorite Democrat!'

2007-04-03 09:29:46 PM
BingoBob: What are the chances a woman could become president ? Wouldn't some random WASP be a better choice?

All the signs point to the next election being an angry electorate looking for a grudge fark. Is there anybody better suited than Hillary?

2007-04-03 09:29:55 PM
BingoBob-

I totally agree.

The Democrats are being WAY too optimistic. The voters in this country will NEVER elect a woman or a black man. We just have too many racists and/or sexists.

Never mind the fact that Hillary truly sucks. I mean, seriously. She's embarassing.

Obama seems alright, and I'd vote for him if I thought he could possibly win. But he can't.

Sorry DistendedPendulusFrenulum

Lame ducks can't get most of the Democratic candidates
to vote for war before they vote against it...
