He's right. It lends credibility to the anti-terror effort.

It's a sad thing to say, and I am sure he wishes no ill will toward the people who were taken, but the ravenous anti-war people (and with regards to the Iraq war, they have a point) have made it to where for the American and world public to actually understand what we're dealing with, these whackjobs have to do something stupid like this to make it obvious.

Th ravenous anti-war people? You are just another piece of shiat filled with hate creating monsters to justify it.

Excuse me? It's a good thing because we finally know the type of crazies we are dealing with? I seem to remember having the same sort of crazies holding hostages back in 1979. So what has changed? Incompetent president, lackluster economy. How 'bout this, the willingness of the administration to drop the hammer of war, seemingly at a whim. No diplomacy, just a big git 'er done attitude.

You wonder why Iran wants nukes? I'd be scared shiatless if I was Iran, having the big boys play war right next door. Especially if I was called one of the "axis of evil." Would you want to be next on Bush'shiat list? It's simple protection, just look at India and Pakistan.

Isn't there some way even just a little diplomacy could be tried? Just to make the people who Bush supposedly represents feel a little more justified if war is inevitable?

God help us all, we are screwed.

Jesus Christ, America's "retard strength" hubris never ceases to amaze me. WHO CARES?!? These aren't American citizens and Britain isn't even that great of an ally. This is a matter for the UK and Iran to deal with. It's nothing like Carter's embarrassment. As much as I'd love another reason to think George Bush is a dumbass, this won't be one of them. This has nothing to do with us.

O'reilly jerks off at the thought of a strong, military-based, might-makes-right US foreign policy. If a bunch of British sailors being captured is even a baby step closer to an actual war with Iran he's overjoyed.

2007-04-01 01:21:45 AM
** Sigh **

Iran capturing 15 British sailors in international waters isn't a good thing, Billy Boy. Americans don't need reminders that Iran's current leadership is nutty. We've known that since 1979.

The only good thing you really see in this, Billy Boy, is that your ratings may go up.

And remember, Shawn Hornbeck enjoyed being repeately raped and threatened with a gun because he didn't have to go to school or see his family anymore!

I feel about Bill O'Reilly the same way I feel about PETA, the Westboro Baptist Church, and Paris Hilton. If we ignore them, hopefully they will STFU and go the F away. Forever.

O'Reilly is an asshat

The irony drips from his lips like honey off a bee's ass. Who is he talking about again, them or us?

We have vaguely defined water boundaries between two territories, one a territory (Iraq) that has no government (provisional governments have no power), and the two had been at war as little as 20 years ago, with many old wounds on both sides.

Sorry, I'm more then willing to believe Iran. Yeah, I that's right. I don't trust my own goverment because they've lied to me a lot, and have started overtures to begin a third war in 6 years with this country. There's a fair chance that they may have been in their waters, being the water boundaries were so ill-defined before the loss of the Iraqi dictatorship

I think Iran needs to be the big boy here and make the peace, because the Anglo-American Alliance is not going to do it.

"If you dont think they want to cause trouble then you're living in the land of Oz"

I dont understand what the aussies have got to do with this.

Is it also a good thing when Americans grab people in Afghanistan based on hearsay, throw them into Gitmo, charge them with nothing and then give them no trial for 5 years?

Is that good, too, Billy?

Oh, but it's different when we do it, right asshole?

Nailed it.

God bless America.

Iran has been run by crazies since they deposed our Western Puppet Shah in 1979.

/Crazy = those that disagree with US Foreign Policy

2007-04-01 11:07:59 AM
No. In this case, crazy=leader of a nation, whose personal beliefs are that it is his destiny to start the war of all wars so that his 12th imam may be released from some well somewhere; he also speaks often of the destruction of the west and Israel. Not being mad at us, not wanting to ignore us....destroy us.

Better yet:
crazy=people who somehow believe we can co-exist with such mental patient vermin.
The dude is bringing it. Not a question of if, but a question of when and where.
That being said, I'd just as soon dictate said confrontations' terms, not sit back and feel all guilty that somehow we created this animal.

Wake the hell up, people, before it gets really ugly.
You don't seriously think we're hanging out in Iraq simply for Iraqs' sake, do you?

2007-04-01 11:40:56 AM
It really sounds like he's talking about the US when he says things like, "they're crazy... they are hell-bent to cause trouble in this world." I think it fits us more than it does the Iranians. We're looking for a reason to cause trouble (war is much bigger trouble than kidnapping) and anything will do at this point.

2007-04-01 11:46:34 AM
moparedtn: Here's the thing. Ahmaniwhatchamahama is crazy, no doubt about it. He's a problem, also no doubt about it. However, the people of Iran generally don't want to start a war with the US. If Ahmanimasummink decides to attack us, FINE. We can handle armies, no problem. The problem is when we have to fight the civilians as well as the army. Using this incident as the feeble pretext for yet another war would be all much of the civilians need to join the fight against the US. At least that's my opinion.

The average age of O'Really's audience is 74.

Seventy. farking. Four.

A bit more than draft age.

of all the damn fool things in your brain to say, now we see just what kind of person actually wants the terrorists to pull another 9-11.

farking hypocrite. I always knew these kinds of incidences blew your load.

The sad thing is as recently as '99 Iran actually had a fairly progressive(for Iran) president. Khatami had the intelligence and the support to hold his own against the Ayatollahs. Now, partially thanks to Bushes 'axis of evil' BS weve got a president in Iran who is lockstepped with the Ayatollahs, though it sounds like the people, especially the youth, have woken up from the flash of anger at having their country maligned and are chafing under their backwards governance again. Hopefully we will see the appointment of more moderate leaders in the near future.

Hey, RandomExcess: here's a name for you to look up...
Mossadegh.

moparedtn - Please give example of Iran's president stated desire to destroy the west? I've searched but can't find a quote, beyond editorials from the NRO which also lack quoted reference.

Put up or shut up.

Wait, you mean that before we nuke 'em to bits, other nations actually have to commit acts of agression? We can't preemptively police the world, re-drawing borders and installing friendly leaders whenever it strikes our fancy? You're right, those anti-war people have really farked things up!

2007-04-01 04:36:35 PM
So, the Iranians are bad people because of their actions?

Or they are bad people and their actions simply prove it?

Because I don't really think its any of our concern how bad of people they are until there is an ACTION on their befalf which deserves a reaction on our behalf.

AKA, make all the loud noises you want, but act up and you'll get smacked. We carry the biggest stick on the planet, Nuclear Annihilation (better known as Deterence).

Americans don't need reminders that Iran's current leadership is nutty.

Nutty? Look first at your government. They made 9/11. They are smuggling drugs. They are imploding the economy. They are selling the country to foreign interests. They are imposing you an illegal tax (IRS). They are putting people in jail more than everywhere in the world. They start wars for money and power.

Who is the nuttier? Ok, Iran leadership is crap, but it's nothing in comparaison to the british and us governments.

Its typical of the right wing loon crowd. They are almost cultlike in their following of all things republican and white.

Its nice to see Bill Oreilly support the troops by being happy when theyre captured. This makes me wonder if hed be happy if a dirty bomb went off in Washington because itd give us a reason to keep invading countries in the middle east.
