They must not have played Crackdown yet.

Some time ago, I think it was fazed.org linked to a game where you shoot Mexicans trying to cross the border and blood spurts everywhere.

The pregnant woman scores extra points.

If memory serves me correctly they don't even let people name their kids anything but approved mexican names in Chihuahua. Not surprising, that is a nationalist type of area.

2007-03-26 06:14:28 PM
Sounds like their national honor's been insulted. That's a big deal with them. They're very proud of their country.

/Don't ask me. I have no idea.

I am waiting for the democrats to insist that Bush apolgize for the game.

Followed by Bush apologizing.

2007-03-26 06:15:53 PM
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....who cares? What are they going to get 4 copies? All your people are over here asshole.

RainDawg: They must not have played Crackdown yet.

Is that any good? Need a new 360 game...

2007-03-26 06:18:34 PM
Damn, the 5 Mexicans in that area with TV sets and PS2s are going to be pissed.

2007-03-26 06:19:37 PM
Good game, and yes the ethnic stereotyping reaches to new heights on that one.

From TFA "The governor of the Mexican state of Chihuahua..."

www.dolittler.com

With a title like that, you'd think this guy would have enough sense to stay off the information supertube.

Gamers are so incredibly pathetic.

Get a life people. Go paint a self portrait. Build a house. Do something other than sit on your ass clicking buttons while shiatting your pants.

Hard to believe a tough guy like Anthony Quinn came from that whinner area.

This is very true. They can't understand why Americans use the American flag as underwear etc... It would be unheard of for a Mexican to use thier flag in such a way.

You're not your job. You're not how much money you have in the bank. You're not the car you drive. You're not the contents of your wallet. You're not your farking khakis. You're the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

You're not apart of a covert operation intended to overthrow the delicate balance of power in a neighboring country.
You're not really killing Mexicans.

Sorry.

Rental at best. There really isn't a story, and the gameplay can get boring pretty fast.

Good things our border security is so bad that even fat gamers from Mexico will be able to get over here too.

Damn. Ah well, I'll go buy that Star Trek game I know will suck. (But since it says 'Star Trek'...)

They should add that warning that anything resembling this game in terms of content is purely coincidental.

Ghost Recon was a franchise ruined by its sequels, if you ask me. I could never get in to any of the GR games beyond Ghost Recon and its expansion packs (though the one in Ethiopia/Eritrea was the only expansion I liked). GR2 to me was just mindless action without any of the tactical thinking of the first game.

lol

Build a 20 ft. fence and I'll show you a Mexican with a 21 ft. ladder. I forget who said it, but the guys I work with get a kick out of it.

2007-03-26 06:45:19 PM
I am not really that surprised, I found the game to be pretty condescending and over-the-top even for a military video game.

There are many subtle jabs and nuanced condescensions throughout that I think primarily stems from dumb writers. And where are all the damn civilians?

B-b-b-but Canada?
It isn't an American game, technically a French game.
And GRAW(1) has the Canadian Prime Minister dying.

wow i thought mexicans were tougher than that.

america makes villains out of everybody, if you whine you're a pussy.

Compared to something like Black though, GRAW really is simple when it comes to international storytelling.

Having a bunch of international mercenaries yelling to each other in their native languages is much cooler.

Perhaps, instead of whining about a video game, he should look into improving conditions for the people there so they stop leaving the country in droves.

Sounds like the guv is asserting that accusation, rather than trying to deny it.

But yeah, I'd say there is corruption:

Without checking the link, they MUST be talking about GR:AW2. I thought about the Mexican reaction to the game within the first 30 mins of playing it. Then I remembered someone saying that Germans LOVE the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor games. And David Hasselhoff. So there's no accounting for taste...

I luv shooting at mex's. Good target practice, and yet I get to purchase new ammo. It's a win-win.

Yeah Yeah.....let em come out with a 911 game where the gubrmint is to blame. Or how about a Police the World game where you have the most powerful military but....(we already know the end to that one). Or a Multiplayer online game called Civil Rights.

/just saying, "someone is always going to complain"... just happens to be a Mexican that takes pride in his country this time.

I dunno what Mexico is so pissed about...they got more land than the native Americans did.

Detroit_BobPersonall, I LOVED Crackdown. And so did 20+ people on my friends list.

Yeah, the story is weak, but the game play is hella fun. Download the DEMO off LIVE.

As for the GRAW2 BS: americans can whine, biatch, piss & moan about how evil "The Government" is, but hey, they don't pull stupid crap like this... Other stupid crap? yeah... but at least not this... ;)

I thought Island Thunder (the add-on set in Cuba) was also very good. I agree with you on the sequels though, GRAW was only ok, but in the "meh" sort of way. I'll manybe play GRAW2 when it comes out for PC too, but only if something suddenly happens to ArmA and Falcon 4.

2007-03-26 08:40:54 PM
The only thing that bugs me about this game is how absurdly long the name is.

Yes, Rainbow 6 is by far the superior franchise, IMO. GR is all about sitting in some bushes way the hell away and sniping. R6 is more kick in the door close quarters combat. Even now on my friends list, half the people on are on Rainbow Six, while I might see one person on GRAW2.

1. Smuggle GRAW 2 back into Mexico.
2. ???
3. Profit
4. Do it enough so even Mexicans demand border fence.

fark Mexico

I wanna lick your colon and pinch your nipples while I set you on fire like carne farkING asada, but only after I skin you alive to make chicharrones con salsa while singing the Mexican anthem to the tune of the Star-Spangled Banner, wearing full Mariachi attire, holding a nopal and a chihuaua in my right hand, close to my heart, as my underage wife gives birth to my tenth child who comes out screaming for tacos and cerveza and what way to the border and the welfare office.
You know, because that's how we roll. Farkin dipshiat.

Me too, I absolutely loved this game when I rented it, and bought it shortly after I had to return it. I needed my fix, which is unusual as shooters are generally not my thing. There is just so much more to it though, and god I love finding those freaking orbs. It's almost like the Grand Theft Auto series, but you're a super agent that can jump and climb just about anywhere. Very fun times.

So far I'm probably 15 hours into it if not more, and still have one part of the city left completely uncleared. I'm most excited to get back to playing that game.

/I guess rent first, and purchase if you feel the need after that
