From the way the article put this, it sounds like they did this earlier that day & was before the whole uniform thing.

If the uniform was unidentified, how could they tell it was a WWII era uniform?

Shouldn't that read "Unidentified man in WWII uniform" instead?

They know who he is. The article doesn't state specifically what type of WWII uniform it was though (American navy? Nazi? Canadian?), hence, 'man in unidentified WWII uniform
