HoneyDog: By the way, several of you have mentioned that the girl had issues. And just how did you guys come to this conclusion?

FTA:
"I told him everything and he never shared any of my secrets," said Crystal, 17, who has had some troubled times in her young life.

This story makes me get a sick, gargling, popping sensation in the pit of my throat. Feels like my stomach is carbonated, or like I might vomit (but I won't). People who do this sort of thing need to be brought back into the real world, and violently.

2007-03-15 09:01:19 AM
Well, it was her 'therapy' dog... that's a clue she has issues. I'm going with Occam's razor on this one and claiming the Girl did it. Notice when she opened the box she made certain it was on her Grandma's dresser. And the eye make-up... another sure sign. A cry for help and attention.

Sure, it's a logical leap and totally irresponsible to blame someone on a few sentences in an article, but that's why I come to Fark.

Man, I really feel bad about this girl, but I wonder if there might be a little more to this story then we are hearing. I would guess she might have an idea who did this...but either way, that's just wrong.

On another note..."I told him everything and he never shared any of my secrets"

Maybe one of the people she gave/showed the missing dog pamphlet to did it. The person found the dog, kills it, then this girl comes along with a pamphlet that has her address and name and then the killer proceeds to send her this cruel 'valentine'.

/killer deserves to be beheaded

2007-03-15 09:15:00 AM
'terroristic' just shows a woefull lack of vocabulary on behalf of the article's author.

'murderous' is more accurate.

/not everything is terrorism, y'know

2007-03-15 09:15:38 AM
Wow.

""implied" terroristic threat? Probably not." This does not mean what you think it means. Implied Terroristic Threat is a term that has been around since long before 9/11 and has nothing to do with Al Qaeda, it's just a legal term for threatening someone's life.

Absolutely sickening. I have two Australian Shepards and I would just die of heartbreak f something like that happened to them. Her new puppy looks just like my younger one Abbie.

2007-03-15 09:20:04 AM
After weighing all the evidence I can only come to one conclusion: there's a motherfarker out there that needs to die.

Like Lewis Black says, "We should all get in cars and go kick some ass."

2007-03-15 09:22:27 AM
wow. that's harsh.

poor kid.

2007-03-15 09:23:44 AM
Awww, poor girl. Poor doggie. It sounds like the girl has some serious issues. The dog was her "best friend," "knew all her secrets," and was a "therapy" dog. Sounds like she's gotten the shaft (and in a profound way) from humans all her life, and maybe a doctor recommended a pet as a way to work on trust and caring issues. Then to have this happen... She'll never get emotionally attached to a human being ever again. Way to go, sick dickwad.

uh did no one else think that maybe she did it? after all she was referred to as a "troubled teen" and she seems to be enjoying her moment of popularity. stranger things have happened.

2007-03-15 09:27:53 AM
This is awful, simply awful. This sort of thing makes me sick to my stomach. I really hope that the police catch this sicko before he or she ends up doing this to another defenseless creature, human child. Boy, I'd love to get my hands on the motherfarker who did it.

I think they're using the "terroristic threat" angle as an excuse to justify actually putting officers on this case, given how sick it is. Typical animal cruelty cases generally go un-investigated. Good on them, hopefully they'll catch this douche. If it's the girl who did it, she should be shot.

The article begs to differ.

FTA: Shirley Brown placed the box on her granddaughter's bedroom dresser. "I was surprised and excited," Crystal said. "I thought it was a gift from my cousin."

Enough of this boring terrorism vs. harassment cr@p. Can we talk about how every psycho with a dog now refers to their mutt as a "therapy dog" and expects special rights for their pooch? Just because you tell doggie your secrets and he sleeps in your bed at night doesn't mean he gets to ride on the airplane and go shopping with you. . . end rant.

2007-03-15 09:45:52 AM
This incident and the punching 90 year old Grandmother in the face incident have changed my views on the death penalty.

2007-03-15 09:47:42 AM
MJbites: I don't think they're looking to try someone on terror charges. They're saying it's being investigated by homicide detectives because of the implied threat of violence.

Her dog was also a therapy dog, which is like a blind person's seeing eye dog. They require training and ongoing education, believe it or not. They are considered "professional" work animals in the therapy field.

That could be the reason for the terroristic threats investigation. In essence, you are endangering this girl's ability to function by offing Fido.

2007-03-15 09:48:00 AM
If they find who did it they should drag that person into the street and have them shot.

/This is beyond practical joke or "messing with the weird girl". This sort of action is depraved and has no place in society.
//And yes, public execution does have a place in society.

2007-03-15 09:52:31 AM
Damn! That poor girl!!! There is nothing funny about this at all.
Hope they catch the sick fark!

2007-03-15 09:53:28 AM
chuggernaught

No doubt. You have serious farking issues if you are chopping the heads off of dogs and leaving them on peoples doorstep. The doorstep of people who already have emotional problems BTW. I consider myself pretty well grounded inwardly and I know seeing that in a box would shake me up a bit.

2007-03-15 09:53:40 AM
language changes over time.

semantics is part of all the fun.

2007-03-15 09:53:46 AM
holy crap.. that's the sickest news I've read all year yet...
I will probably flip out too if i open a "gift" with any animal's head inside, even if it's not my pet (and I don't have a pet).
Not to mention that poor girl has previous issues with her life already, which make it much much worse. I think I'll go from without issues to with issues after that kind of incident too.

I wish the person who did this die of horrible death, like being tied to a tree and eaten alive by small dogs that can't take a huge bite and let the person die slowly..

/Death threat, yes. Terrorism, no.

2007-03-15 09:54:04 AM
YouPeopleAreCrazy, just because the girl had problems in her life doesn't mean she's messed up emotionally or has psychological problems. It could mean that her parents were jerks and that's why she's living with grandma.

And for the record, a lot of people talk to their dogs and say things to their dogs that they wouldn't to another human. The dog isn't going to talk, the dog will always love you and accept you no matter what. You can say the same about most humans, just look at the way you and some of the others are reacting.

I was on a plane a couple of weeks ago. Some biatch had a poodle that was yipping and pissing all over the plane. When half the plane biatched to the flight attendant about the dog we were told it was an aid dog and therefore allowed on the flight. After the dog pissed on a guys shoe and he went off on the lady asking her WTF kind of aid did she need, the lady said it was a "therapy dog". I think the guy was about ready to whack either the dog or, better yet, the lady.

Well, it was her 'therapy' dog... that's a clue she has issues.

No that isn't a clue. I know quite a few people who have therapy dogs. Its not that the person who owns them needs the therapy dog, its that they take the dog to places like nursing homes, hospitals, etc for others to pet.

2007-03-15 09:58:05 AM
'terroristic' just shows a woefull lack of vocabulary on behalf of the article's author.

And your comment shows your ignorance of the nuances of the English language.

2007-03-15 09:59:03 AM
IAmRight: "Just because you have your own definition for it doesn't mean its the actual definition. Semantics are a stupid thing to argue about, so just sit back and come to terms that a homicide division would know what they're talking about when they label something a "terrorist threat"."

The cop didn't say it. The reporter did. And I know we're not just accepting the terms used by the retarded authors of many of the columns on this site, so why should this one be accepted?

It's harrassment/stalking. NOTHING to do with terrorism.

"ter·ror·ism (těr'ə-rĭz'əm) Pronunciation Key
n. The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons."

it has nothing to do with intimidating or coercing societies or governments. it has to do with intimidating an individual, which would be harrassment

ha·rass /həˈræs, ˈhærəs/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[huh-ras, har-uhs] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
-verb (used with object)
1.to disturb persistently; torment, as with troubles or cares; bother continually; pester; persecute.
2.to trouble by repeated attacks, incursions, etc., as in war or hostilities; harry; raid.

and get over yourselves, people crying out for the death penalty. he wouldn't get the death penalty for killing HER, why the hell should he get the death penalty for killing a DOG? and why the hell are you dragging the parents into it?

Sick and worth a bunch of years in jail and court-appointed therapy? yep. Death penalty? STFU.

2706. Terroristic threats.

(a) Offense defined. A person commits the crime of terroristic threats if the person communicates, either directly or indirectly, a threat to:

1. commit any crime of violence with intent to terrorize another;
2. cause evacuation of a building, place of assembly, or facility of public transportation; or
3. otherwise cause serious public inconvenience, or cause terror or serious public inconvenience with reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience.

Wow such outrage from the Fark community. Too bad that most of the liberals have no problem with drilling a hole in a baby's head and sucking out the brain; or chopping it to pieces and vacuuming it out. But yeah, a dog died... LET'S HANG 'EM !!!!

I see Tim655321 thought the same thing I did.

"You've made quite a life for yourself. You should be proud. I wish I could have lived like you. I visited your dog this morning, after you left. I tried to taste the life of a simple girl. It didn't work out, so I took a souvenir. His pretty head. You see, because I envied your normal life, it seems that envy is my sin."

/WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? TELL ME, WHAT'S IN THE BOOOX?????
