No.

If he's not writing or directing it, it might have a chance.

Goddammit.

Because when I think "Star Wars," I think "man, that's some funny shiat."

Poor guy must need money.

I think he is bi-polar...

He is farked up, in any case.

I figure if he needs extra dough, he could just be a hair model for Bob's Big Boy statues.

I thought the Clone Wars cartoon was shiat. I hate that style of drawing.

The live action show could just be Luke hanging around Tatooine, targeting womp rats and chasing the muff around Toshi Station.

Huh? NOOO! Unless it is Wookie Stand Up Hour. Then i would probably tune in

Do not want.

Sounds good to me!

Confabulat

Because when I think "Star Wars," I think "man, that's some funny shiat."

That's exactly what I thought while watching the prequels.

I wouldn't mind the Star Wars TV show being a bit lighter in tone than, say, the new Battlestar Galactica, but we don't need another Homeboys in Outer Space either. Something along the lines of a more action-oriented (and much less talky) Red Dwarf with a bigger production budget might be about right.

The thing that was great about the Clone Wars cartoons is they got the story through with hardly any dialogue at all.

I just had a vision from the depths of hell... Red Dwarf with a Jar Jar Binks type charachter.

I'm guessing Lucas wants another ranch, or another Star Wars project to soothe his ego after the latest trilogy destroyed any creative credit people thought he had a long time ago. Of course, this will work, because we all know how popular those farking Ewok movies he made were.

/seriously, more obscure than the Christmas Special.
//didn't remember they existed until I saw a pack of them at the store a few weeks back.

What, does God need another loan or something?

Star Wars needs to be a mix between Firefly and BSG.
And for GAWD SAKE LUCAS, DON'T WRITE COMEDY!

The second Ewok movie was pretty awesome.

Clone Wars cartoon was good. Makes sense to make it a series.

Live action TV show? Well, a teenaged Luke growing up on Tatooine would be fine, provided there was no teenage romance junk or slapstick, lots of sandpeople, bounty hunters, and speeder chases. It couldn't hurt to see a young Boba Fett or old Watto either (provided that Watto has Alzheimer's).

hahahahaha.... sorry.

chappelle show was funny.

the only way star wars can be funny is if:

A) biatches ain't shiat

or

B) Troops

Is it safe to say that "Star Wars" was a fluke? That somehow this sub-par film maker managed to make one really great movie and then ride it's wave for the next thirty years. His appearance at the Oscars said it all to me. There he was standing with three greats of modern film making, and what's his claim to fame? He made Star Wars.

2007-03-05 08:33:48 PM
Lucas' claim to fame is that he changed the industry. People claim to hate the big summer blockbuster movies but a lot of people would miss them if they were gone.

I think the most brilliant thing Lucas could do is start passing out episodes to aspiring directors who also love Star Wars. If you've seen theforce.net, you know all about the piles and piles of really well done fanfilms. Round these guys up and line them up in front of the Skywalker Ranch. If they're good enough, they get a pile of money and a deadline. The show could go anywhere, and it would give new directors a chance to strut their stuff to a huge audience.

submitter: It'll be "smart-ass comedy with contemporary humor."

At least he's only talking about the cartoon with that quote. If he was referring to the live-action series, it'd already be lost.

If Lucas just wants to make another boatload of money, he should just make a Star Wars lightsaber game for the Nintendo Wii. That's a gold mine just waiting to happen.

I can't imagine the horror that would be a rushed weekly tv series.

Someone please post the Vader Do Not Want. The occasional one-liner is good, but a freaking comedy show? Star Wars is not meant to be funny - its drama and action, with a little (very little) comedy thrown in to keep it from being too much.

/thought Clone Wars cartoons were great

"smart-ass comedy with contemporary humor."

So Kevin Smith is writing the dialog? I can't wait to see Dante and Randall in white plastic suits.

Kit Fisto?
i'm sorry? what the hell?
is lucas COMPLETELY out of touch with the world(or at least, internet porn?)
moreover:
it's gonna focus on the skywalker story?
shiat, didn't we already see that? y'know, those last three movies? wasn't that what that was for?

Uh, I believe it said it's NOT going to focus on the Skywalker story.

The live action one sounds like it'd kick ass with the concept of not following one set group of characters.
