That's good.

2002-08-07 04:42:29 PM
Thank god no one choked and killed the rubber chicken.

I see the headline writer subscribes to the dadaist school of journalism...

GB Packer autographed rubber chicken....

That sounds about right.

2002-08-07 04:48:40 PM
I want a rubber chicken. Then I want someone to steal it, travel around the world, and take pics of it in foriegn, exotic places.

What do the Raiders have, an autographed Kewpie doll?

2002-08-07 04:52:12 PM
Sweater Girl, wasn't there a website like that with a globe-trotting couch?

2002-08-07 04:52:41 PM
That would make a good movie.

Packer fans are far and away the most rabid of all sports fans. From paying $200/share for "worthless" stock (priceless, though, to all their "owners") to $10 for a jar of authentic Lambeau turf when they resodded the field, the list is endless.

30,000+ are on the season ticket waiting list. Expanding and renovating Lambeau Field will take a few thousand off that list. Deaths take about another 100 or so per year, although tickets are usually willed to other family members.

The "new" "Hallowed Grounds" aka "The Frozen Tundra" aka "Titletown USA" aka Lambeau Field.

The chicken will be just the good luck charm the Pack needs to go back to the Super Bowl...

B.S. - Nothing has ever come out of Greenbay that was worth thousands. Greenbay isn't even worth thousands.

2002-08-07 04:58:20 PM
The chicken is now playing tackle fort the team.

2002-08-07 04:58:41 PM
My dad was one of those whackos who put my name on the sason ticket waiting list when I was just a toddler. If my name ever comes up, I'll drop what I'm doing and move back to Wisconsin in a heartbeat.

Oh, and I'd kill for that chicken.

2002-08-07 05:01:28 PM
Chicken or no chicken the (Fudge)Packers will be lucky to win 8 games this year...they've got 2 losses right off the bat against the 2001 NFC champion Chicago Bears!

2002-08-07 05:06:09 PM
Obligatory Green Bay joke:

Q: How do you know that the tooth brush was invented by a Packer-backer?

A: Because if anyone else invented it, it would be called a teeth brush.

2002-08-07 05:06:45 PM
Redfish365: Whatever....I'd almost bet the Saints would make it before the Bears......almost.

aren't we due for a man to kill a cat with his pocket knife again today?

2002-08-07 05:09:22 PM
Redfish: BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Packers handed da Bears 2 losses last year, and will do so again this year. And the next. Rinse and repeat...

Bears fans are so pathetic. Enjoy all of your home games being blacked out this year...

2002-08-07 05:14:02 PM
Redfish365: Da Bears will suck ass, just like any other year. Pack to win the Division.

2002-08-07 05:15:37 PM
Best. Fans. Ever

Football joke time.

Whats the difference between $1 and the Minnesota Vikings?

You get 4 quarters out of a dollar.

I would also have accepted, that a dollar is worth more.

and so it begins....

B.S. - Nothing has ever come out of Greenbay that was worth thousands. Greenbay isn't even worth thousands.

I beg to differ. I went to Green Bay on business last fall. I was there a week and I have to say that Green Bay is one of the cleanest cities I've ever seen. The people were wonderful and I really had a great time. And boy, do they ever like their beer in Green Bay! That was the beer-drinkingest bunch I've ever partied with.

2002-08-07 05:22:49 PM
You gotta remember, here in Wisconsin, the Packers are more than just an NFL Franchise, they are almost like a religion. Most churches here have their services early in the morning so that churchgoers can get back home in time for the pre-game show.

2002-08-07 05:31:23 PM
If games stopped being broadcast on TV, if advertisers stopped pumping money into the game, if owners stopped becoming rich, if players stopped being payed at all; they would still play football in the snow in Wisconsin, and people would still fill the stands to see it.

2002-08-07 05:32:48 PM
Bay Beach Amusement Park in Green Bay has tons of rides, mostly for young kids, that cost $.20 each. For about $5, kids and families can spend half a day having a blast.

Chicago? Six Flags? $40 just to get in. $5 for a cold cheeseburger. 45 minute waits on most rides. Feh.

Green Bay is also home to the National Railroad Museum, one of the best in the country. Titletown Brewing Company has great food and drink. The Oneida Casino is one of the largest in the country.

Etc.

Green Bay revolves around its beloved Packers, but it's also a vibrant, clean, wonderful city unlike any other place on Earth, because God's team plays here...

2002-08-07 05:41:55 PM
Yes, God's team does play in Green Bay. Once a year.

DA BEARS!

2002-08-07 06:01:27 PM
Bears will suck again. Theres no stopping Favre to Terry Glenn, Farve to Ahman Green and lets not forget about Bubba Franks. The D will crush any hopes that the Bears have of scoring. Joe Johnson, what an offseason pick up. Hardy Nickerson will be back to his old form. Bajabiamila and Holiday dominating any line. McKenzie and Sharper controlling the defensive 3rd. And Darien Gordon returning Kicks. The Packers lucky to win 8? WTF. Kidding me. After further review the Bears still suck. Packers NFC champs

2002-08-07 06:08:35 PM
Hey Ironbar, no bashing the Raiders. They won the popular vote, just not the electoral college. And we all know what that counts for.

2002-08-07 06:09:44 PM
Nightsweat:
"Yes, God's team does play in Green Bay. Once a year.
DA BEARS!"

I knew there was a reason for why I'm an atheist.

2002-08-07 06:10:19 PM
Dangit Ouroborous!
Stop choking your chicken like that!

2002-08-07 06:56:23 PM
Footbaall players are ugly. Give me a nice soccer or tennis player anyday.

And that's as far as my interest in sports extends.

Gee, I can't wait for football season to start so my boyfriend has another excuse to ignore me.

2002-08-07 07:30:59 PM
Cluckin-a that's a good story

oh yea.......Pack 27
Steelers 21

2002-08-07 08:03:41 PM
Hoohoodilly,

All of the Bears homegames will be televised in Chicago, unlike Green Bay if there are seats that remain before the deadline the network will buy them up, here in major-market land the ad revenue is worth more than it costs to buy a few thousand tickets...

And I'll grant you that the FudgePackers beat us twice, 2 of our 3 defeats, but remember- Revenge is sweet, your team had NO linebackers and iffy recievers and WILL LOSE twice to the Bears. Mark my words! Bears- 12-4 FudgePackers- 8-8

Bears win NFC North.

2002-08-07 08:38:48 PM
The point is:

Green Bay, Wisconsin is a craphole of a town

Chicago is 50x the town Green Bay ever thought about being

Plus Chicagoans dont have that ignorant accent

2002-08-07 08:48:31 PM
Vikings twice this year- by at least a touchdown, both games.

Mark. My. Words.

2002-08-07 09:41:56 PM
I live a little south of GB...great town.

Hoohoodilly-you forgot my favorite place - the Weidner Center at the UWGB campus!!!

Oops...we were talking about football...not culture!

Sorry! ;-)

2002-08-07 09:48:26 PM
great job at making your point, bighonky

2002-08-07 10:32:30 PM
I live in manitowoc, WI. GO PACKERS!

2002-08-07 10:33:35 PM
If Chicagoans are such cosmopolitan jet setters, then why are 90% of them up at the Dells playing miniture golf and stuffing their pie-holes full of funnel cake come summertime instead of at the Art Institute?

Bears fans: 67% of your losses last year--the Pack.

Vikings fans: beat the Giants--then get back to me. By the way, nice dome--that way, your vaginas won't freeze.

Lions fans: if the Lions play a game at Ford Field and no one comes, does it make a sound?

2002-08-07 11:20:47 PM
REDFISH 365: Give me some of what your smoking! Packers games have been sold out for years, and will continue to be for years. However, it is possible to get tickets. That's provided you know where to look. (As a matter of fact, I will be going to the game at Lambeau against the queens!) We don't need the networks to bail us out by buying thousanfds of tickets so we can be on TV!

Millay: I like your comments!

2002-08-08 12:16:18 AM
Man I am not from Chicago, I am a 5th generation Floridian native.

And before you make fun of Floridians before all the stupid jews and northerners moved down, it was a pretty cool place.

end rant

What I said was Chicago was a much cooler city than Green Bay and its vietnamese pig factories and cheese machines. The Dells are a nice place, I just tire of that damn asshat accent.

Please lose that accent, it makes you sound French, oh wait, Fond du Lac...Prairie Du Chien...Wausau...Dammit why dont we just call your shiatty state "New France"

2002-08-08 12:24:48 AM
Favre realizing he plays for a French footbal team notice his surrender towel.

2002-08-08 12:27:39 AM
Notice my lack of spelling and grammar, all this from thinking about Wisconsin.

what a shame

2002-08-08 12:33:20 AM
BigHonky:

Everyone I've met outside of Wisconsin has identified my accent as a Chicago accent........and I was bred, born and raised in Wisconsin.

2002-08-08 11:12:03 AM
Redfish: Care to make a not-so-friendly wager? If the Bears win fewer than 12, and the Packers win more than 8, and the Packers don't get swept by da Bears, I win. If the Bears win 12 or more, and the Packers win 8 or less, and the Bears sweep the Packers, you win. Any combination in between and no one wins.

I'm game for $100. I'll even give you 5-1 odds. Whaddaya say?

Yoshiatoshi: I was at the Weidner Center for "Blues Clues Live" with my son last year. Beautiful place, and a beautiful campus.

How pathetic that there will be thousands of empty seats at every home Bears game this year. All those "diehard" fans are unwilling to travel 150 miles to see their "team of destiny" coming off a 13-3 season. Pussies. And a renovated Soldier Field will still be a farking eyesore and an embarrassment to the NFL.

Milwaukee Packer fans travel a similar distance every home game, regardless of team performance, weather conditions, etc.

BigHonkey: your name is fitting. However ignorantHonkey would due just as well. Heres a bit of advice for you. If you don't like the state, the accent or the people then stay the phuch away. Or just go to a local bar in WI and let everyone know how you feel about our beloved state. FIB (farking Illinoise Bastards) and FISH (farking Illiniose shiat Heads) are always coming to our state to vacation. Why is that. Probably because Illiniose is a shiat hole. And WI has beautiful landscapes, golf course and culture. Sure Chicago is 50x the city of GB or Milw. Big farking deal. NY is 50x that of Chicago. And Tokyo is 50x that of NY. But at least we dont' have to sit in 2hrs of traffic a day, deal with the shiaty drivers of ILL., can breath fresh air, and deal with the damn ILL. people who lack personality and complain about WI people because our living conditions are 100x that of ILL.

Packers NFC Champs. Then SuperBowl Champs. You have had the privelage to watch one of the Greatest QBs of All time. Another ledgend in the NFL from the greatest Franchise in NFL history, Green Bay Packers

2002-08-08 12:23:35 PM
From the Chicago Sun Times: "Coverage, not briefs, is CB McMillon's job" http://www.suntimes.com/output/bears/cst-spt-bear08.html.

Yep the Bears have so much going on during training camp that this is news. After further review Da Bears still suck.

2002-08-08 12:24:51 PM
Then do me a favor and when you visit another state lose your faggot accent

Farking French faggots

Stay in New France.
