Wow, that brings back memories. Linda Carter was a helluva babe

I am making a formal declaration. If it is safe for work, DON'T USE THE BOOBIES TAG

2001-07-04 02:10:12 PM
i agree. that was sort of a tease. Anyways, who works on the 4th of July (besides the British)

2001-07-04 02:20:13 PM
Dammit I'm working. This sucks

Once again, something that belongs on Retrocrush appears on XE, courtesy of Robert Berry.

Forgive my associating the two, but has anyone noticed an uncanny resemblance in smiles between WW and Jelloboy?

2001-07-04 03:08:17 PM
All I got to say is... HUBBA HUBBA!

2001-07-04 03:48:05 PM
damn that Robert Berry...who the hell does he think he is, putting things on 2 different websites! Isn't it time to reorgainze your Pokemon cards again, S-head?

Well Rob, on this one I agree with shiathead. XE's articles are always humorous, if you had written a funny story about wonderwoman and included pictures it might be more appropriate for a site like XE. But this thing didn't have any humor. It was more like, "Ug Ug! Look at da pwetty gurl! hoo hoo!"

2001-07-04 04:16:56 PM
Though humor plays a large role in XE, we've had non-humor stories and features throughout XE's history. From interviews with Bucker and Garcia and Beast Wars animators, to profiles on various monsters and horror films. Matt's reviews on The Shining and The Exorcist, for example. At this point, there's simply no pleasing everyone. I got a few emails telling me that Tom Cruise article didn't belong on XE, but then got plenty praising it and was invited on a radio show in Portland to talk about it. Then you've got more "classic XE" style articles that get no feedback whatsoever. When you're one of those everything/nothing sites, it seems that everything frustrates someone, and nothing satisfies everyone. But I-Mock, I appreciate the criticism, instead of the uninformed axe-grinding blather from shiathead. This was just something fun we wanted to put up for 4th of July.

i say, let them put what they want on x-e. it's that matt guy's site, right? so it's up to him. if you don't like it, make your own site, or if you already have your own site, do with it what you want.

if x-e was the kind of site where there was one article per day, i could see where you guys are coming from. a piece like this would be taking a spot from something funny. however, since it's more like an update-when-we-feel-like-it kind of thing, it's not really a big deal. you'll get your funny story about he-man soon enough.

and no more boobies tags unless there's boobies. the boobies tag should never, in my opinion, be followed by "safe for work". that's the whole reason it was created.

is it just me or do you notice that linda has a really large crotch? that's been bothering me for years, i'm glad to have it off my chest. well, it hasn't really bothered me, i guess i'd just like to examine the phenomena a little closer. check out picture # 8

2001-07-04 04:35:08 PM
^ hehe i can imagine where this gonna lead ^

i hate the stupid no--reason insults. If people think they can do a better job running a site, then why don't they start their own (since it will obviously be perfect in every way).

Robert:

Having read XE for a little over a year, I do feel that I understand the spirit that the site tries (and usually succeeds in the attempt) to provide. It's a humor site. If I wanted to see stills of Wonderwoman, I'd be more than happy to go to Retrocrush to take a peek, make a few clicks, and all that jazz. But, I do feel that most of the more serious stuff that has been posted does add to the general flair of XE...I thank you for going ahead and listing them for me. Personally, I got a kick out of the Tom Cruise article, but its roots seem to belong somewhere else than XE. Your black poetry article is another example of this. Funny as hell, worth showing to the coworkers, but not the same sport as XE. I'd love to have a site featuring content like that, but I don't have the time to do so. Close on the pokecrap cards though, try Chick tracts instead. Party Girl, I choose you!!!

On a totally different note, how much money do you think XE is going to make with the porn banner (on the HGL film festival article) as compared to the standard UGO banner?

Jax: My site will be perfect in every way, shape and form like the Satyr, you have my praise.
Just my two cents.

2001-07-04 05:46:12 PM
shiat, sorry if I dumped on you. The porn banner was more of a joke, than anything. You'll notice I took it off days ago, it was clearly not meant to make any kind of money. Hell, I think I pulled in a whopping $1.40 on that. There's only so much "remember this 80s thing" that XE can do on a regular basis. There's always room for those articles, and obviously a large base that likes them, but I don't think branching out really hurts XE. We like all sorts of things, and write about them, and hope folks like that we offer it up for free for them to enjoy.

And if you only knew what UGO really paid, you'd probably have a good laugh, too. There's nothing more than pocket money in this for any of us, trust me. Nearly all the "money" made goes to pay for the massive webspace and bandwidth the site eats up. That damn forum alone sucks down more than you can imagine.

Happy 4th o' July to all.

Mohammed.dali: Check out picture # 8

For the life of me, I can't figure out what "Picture # 8" is supposed to be, or why you would think that anybody could guess what you consider to be the eighth picture.

Care to enlighten me?

2001-07-04 06:30:11 PM
i thought you were like a wiz or whatever. sorry. when i hold my cursor over the pics, it shows the link at the bottom of the page and this particular pic shows jpeg.8.
i think you're still disturbed over the squirrel diagram. the taxidermist squirrel is much more disturbing so you may want to avoid the forum.

2001-07-04 07:13:16 PM
I like this picture better

2001-07-04 08:36:25 PM
Mohammed.dali: I thought it might be that one, but I wasn't sure.

Beppo: Glad you found something you like.

us canadians would work on the 4th of july

Robert:

Indeed. The 80's were kinda of a dry decade if you were a kid, in retrospect. Lots of imagination going on. Masters of the Universe gets old, yadda yadda yadda. Branching out is good, it gets you more hits, makes shiat cost more, and you hope you get more clicks on the banners. I thought you'd get maybe that on the banners, the Lowtax/eFront saga does a nifty job of summing up internet payment as a whole. It's a bunch of shiat. I used to have a site, will have a site again, and I'll put up a goddamn ad banner to pay for cheap cigarettes.

90-95% of your articles I like. It's just that when I do my morning and afternoon visits to XE I expect to do a little reading and remembering...not looking at a lot of thumbnail galleries. Retrocrush is good...very good...for the latter urge.

Sorry if this post is mangled up, I'm excited about pyrotechnics that will be commencing shortly.

This is flagrant misconduct in use of the "boobies" tag...

2001-07-04 11:05:03 PM
Linda Carter was a babe then and *blush* she's a babe today. Another image of WW that I love...

2001-07-04 11:28:53 PM
So boobies need to be compltely exposed with nipples showing to use the tags? OK...gotcha for next time.

2001-07-04 11:30:38 PM
Who doesn't work on the 4th of July?

2001-07-04 11:33:18 PM
Yes... to the uninitiated...

"boobies" = "not safe for work"

2001-07-04 11:44:47 PM
Ah, yes, this brings back many adolescent masturbation fantasies. Tie me up with that golden lasso, baby!

2001-07-05 12:20:38 AM
Does anybody else believe that the boobies tag should never be used in conjunction with (safe for work)? Also, safe for work should be a nice check box at the bottom of the screen.

2001-07-05 12:45:26 AM
i think that this is borderline acceptable use of the boobies tag. of course my authority is nil.

i would say

the vargas girls are a perfect example of what the boobies tag is for

this is an acceptable use of the boobies tag

the other boobies post from today (movies love boobies) and the fake nipple post from yesterday are not appropriate uses of the boobies tag.

2001-07-05 12:52:35 AM
I like the Wonder Girl above the comic book cover at the bottom ( two from the right - two from the bottom )
Almost nipples on that one, boobies can be good covered but I do prefer mine bare.

2001-07-05 09:06:35 PM
who else thinks that wonder woman shouldnt be in the "Boobies" category?
