I didn't have a problem with the link. Here's the article.

February 26, 2007 -- A hardworking young Manhattan man who helped support his large family was fatally stabbed in front of his brother on a subway platform yesterday - for dancing with a young woman at a Brooklyn party.

"[The police] told me my brother was at a party and that he danced with the wrong girl," said a tearful Gelmy Collado, 16, the victim's only sister.

Police said Gerlin Collado, 20, of East Fifth Street, was stabbed several times in the chest - and may have also been pummeled on the head with a rock - as he fought off his attackers at the New Lots Ave. station of the No. 3 line at 3:10 a.m. in East New York.

Five suspects were quickly taken into custody on the L train at Livonia Ave.

A bloody rock was left behind on the platform, cops said.

"There was an argument between him and one of the guys [at the party], and he left to come back here with my other brother [Henry, 19]," Gelmy Collado said.

"Somehow, they all met back at the train station, and they stabbed my brother seven times."

Collado died at Brookdale Hospital. His brother was treated and released, and after talking to cops, returned to his Manhattan home yesterday afternoon, bruised and limping. He refused to comment to reporters.

The younger sister said cops noted Henry was apparently set upon first by the thugs.

"And that's when Gerlin came in to protect him," she said. "He was very protective. He was like my father. He gave me what I wanted, so what he did [to protect Henry] doesn't surprise me."

Gelmy said Gerlin, the eldest child of four brothers and one sister, worked as a sandwich maker at a Brooklyn deli and attended night courses at Humanities High School to become a mechanic.

"He was the perfect brother," she said, as the loud wails of her mother could be heard coming from inside the home.

"I think he was in the wrong place at the wrong time because he's not a gang-banger. He's not into any of that. He's a kind person . . . the type of person who has a lot of friends."

The young man was especially attached to his mom, Gelmy said.

"My mom and him had a great connection," she said. "They talked like they were best friends. My mom was like his adviser."

At the Brooklyn precinct where the five suspects were being questioned, a relative of one 17-year-old alleged perp said only that he'd been charged with assault.

A stabbin? I thought it was a shootin...

I was cutting the rug
Down at a place called The Jug
With a girl named Linda Lu
When in walked a man
With a gun in his hand
And he was looking for you know who.
He said, "Hey there fellow,
With the hair colored yellow,
Watcha tryin' to prove?
'Cause that's my woman there
And I'm a man who cares
And this might be all for you.

How about the geniuses, after having been seen by several people and killed a man, making their getaway on the L Train? Doesn't that kinda narrow down the escape routes?

Didn't Johnny Horton cover that when he sang "When it's springtime in Alaska (it's forty below)"?.

Funny how one simple change to a show's format can completely change the target demographic.

'Rosa had a lover on the shady side of town Tito, he was king of the streets'

Sad, a Kiss song was the first thing that came to mind.

she probably should have given a little better advice.

Doesn't the suspect look like a real intelligent charmer -- with what appears to be Afro-puffs on his head?

(Note: Afro-puffs were a popular style for young Black women in the 70s. They, however, were smart enough to wear them on the SIDES of their heads, where they looked good, and made them of even size.)

This guy, from the picture, is just begging to be tossed in jail where he'll be raped, sliced up, stabbed and eventually killed because nobody can tell him anything and he's macho.

seems like the sad tag applies here. The kid died, and although he looks like a tool in his cheesy webcam pic (like you've ever seen a good one anyway), it doesn't sound like he really deserved it.

==============================================

In all honesty, after seeing the picture I thought it was going to be a story about a gay dude who got stabbed for trying to pass himself off as a woman at a dance. You know, the lights come up after the party and...WTF!?!?! I've been squeezing your ass?!?!

This guy, from the picture, is dead.

He was the victim, not the perp.
