I want to recycle this quote from from 19 hours ago, because it is priceless. It is priceless.

forked_at_fark: Could it have been a shuttle or the ISS, or perhaps a satellite?

Let's just be clear here: forked at fark thinks the picture which she says is of something that has been at the same spot in the sky (relative to her) for a while is more than likely the space shuttle or an orbiting space station locked in geosynchronous orbit directly over her house than it is to be a streetlight.

I laughed so hard a bit of urine actually dribbled out, which is the exact emotiono-excratorial opposite of puking a bit in your mouth.

So priceless, and I don't want it to stop, ever.

I don't know what it is, I only know that it's

Of course, my cereal, dog, cat, comfy chair and mailbox all tell me the same thing, so it's just one more voice in the Madness Choir.

WOW this is still going. Can someone post me the link the the longest link that And _that's_the_way_the_cookie_crumbles talked about please?

Is it a streetlight?
2007-02-19 09:11:38 AM
Okay, I know I came in late here (out most of the weekend), but this is abso-godddamn-lutely ridiculous. Submitter, did you honestly think you could pass off a farking streetlight (something everybody sees on a nightly basis) as a UFO?

And the people who greenlight this shiat, what's wrong with you? Seriously.

\\yeah, submitter's havin' a laugh.

ginrei724: And the people who greenlight this shiat, what's wrong with you? Seriously.

Man, did you miss the obvious hilariousness that came from this? I'm re-reading this again and laughing my nuts off hard.

Where are those daylight pictures, forked?
2007-02-19 09:23:27 AM
tomatoboy: Where are those daylight pictures, forked?

They didn't come out, the extra glare from the streetlights over-exposed them
2007-02-19 09:26:54 AM
oh, moley, don't stop! i've only collected about 60 PSes from this thread so far ... ;)

It's a street light...from subby's own pics...

2007-02-19 12:20:11 AM MrDorkESQ

Since you guys were so helpful on this streetlight deal. I was wondering if you could tell me what color this is.

2007-02-19 09:37:59 AM
juser2599, damn. Now after seeing that pic I can't help but wonder what the hell forked_at_fark was thinking.

I've just taken a picture of a worm that's seemed to have attached itself to the place where my penis normally is.

Can I offer anybody photographic proof of this?
2007-02-19 09:39:03 AM
Dr. Mojo PhD: Can I offer anybody photographic proof of this?

no. especially not if it drips like that UFO

The lady herself, forked_at_fark (communicating with It's not a Streetlight?)
2007-02-19 09:52:33 AM
kinda looks like a street light to me.
2007-02-19 09:54:39 AM
2007-02-19 09:55:54 AM
What does this even mean?
2007-02-19 09:59:55 AM
mkrieger: and a little tear, trickling down it

There fixed it for you.

/emo jack-o-lantern FTW.
//streetlight, btw

I realize that it's way too late for this, but I just had to:

There are ONE streetlights!
2007-02-19 10:07:59 AM
A dead hooker?
2007-02-19 10:08:20 AM
This is how the file appears on Subby's site after I posted the one above.

SeanDude: This is how the file appears on Subby's site after I posted the one above.

In her defense, there is no conspiracy involved... that previous link has a space in the middle of the word "album" that needs to go bye-bye for it to work. Good find, by the way.
2007-02-19 10:14:20 AM bad. Thanks for pointing that out.
2007-02-19 10:20:30 AM
It's Spaceball One travelling at "Ludicrous" speed...
2007-02-19 10:21:21 AM
What a thread hehe. My guess is a streetlight, but don't tell anyone or they'll all want one
2007-02-19 10:21:53 AM
Good Morning, farkers.

My sides hurt from laughing at this thread so much.

But, it's still not a streetlight, even though it does look like one.

Thanks for those of you who are saying that it is an Aerostat.

So, here is your update.
This was taken from about the same spot on the balcony.
2007-02-19 10:23:50 AM
2007-02-19 10:25:25 AM

Oh, wicked, bad, naughty Zoot! She has been sending a light to our beacon, which, I have just remembered, is streetlight-shaped. It's not the first time we've had this problem.
2007-02-19 10:28:33 AM

Pic isn't showing up for me.
2007-02-19 10:28:33 AM
2007-02-19 10:30:21 AM
Actually after looking back up it appears that juser2599 and Dr. Mojo PhD actually found it first.

2007-02-19 10:31:32 AM
I just couldn't live with myself if I didn't post in the UFO^H^H^Hstreetlight thread.

There, now I can go on.
2007-02-19 10:34:23 AM
Forked I think you've cleared up the mystery with your last pic.

What were the weather conditions like when you took the night shot? Also was the "light" in the sky visible to the naked eye?
2007-02-19 10:34:38 AM
2007-02-19 10:36:01 AM

Seeing as there's a streetlight at exactly the right angle behind some trees in the last photo you posted, this is obviously the object. If it appeared in the sky it may have been an internal reflection inside your camera lens. Crap like that shows up in dark photos very easily in cheap lenses, and usually 180* opposite of center.

Judging by the crop of the original photo, where the streetlight was just off-frame, I'd say internal reflection is the best explination of the phenomenon you're describing.
2007-02-19 10:37:04 AM
So I guess that vertically oriented pole on the left side of the picture isn't a streetlight either.
2007-02-19 10:38:07 AM
Streetlight nebula?
2007-02-19 10:38:23 AM
...but my guess is you just pointed the camera in the wrong direction.
2007-02-19 10:39:03 AM
Are you sure those pictures were taken from the same spot? Where is the treetop that is showing up on the right side of the original streetli... er.... UFO picture?
2007-02-19 10:40:32 AM
I see what you did there.
2007-02-19 10:41:27 AM
Here is what the streetlights around here look like.
2007-02-19 10:41:53 AM
mahavishnunj and firstmattinspace: I wish this thread could last forever.

Dude. You gotta Journeyfi it.

"Why can't this thread go on forever?"
