Gaboo: I bet there's a road that goes up the side of a hill where that tree is also located, right across the street from you.

No, we are in a valley.
The hill is a few miles away.

Here (pops) is a really old daylight picture with a really old camera.

You may not realize, but internal vibrations in your camera's action can completely screw up a shot of a planet....even when on a tripod. The moon shot showed a little bit of that, but since it is not a point source, it wasn't as noticeable.

It's still a streetlight. I highly doubt you pulled out a transit compass and measured that 20 to 30 degrees. Most people are pretty bad at estimating angles from the vertical.

forked_at_fark:, you have yet to comment on the fact that what you specifically referred to as a street light and the "UFO" seem like the same object. There has been more than one visual comparison made in this thread already, see above.

?

forked

So you were in a valley, shooting at a high magnification, with an upwards elevation. Something like this poor representation:

img394.imageshack.us

Really there is *no* possibility it could be a light?

Didn't know that.

It still isn't a streetlight, though it looks like one to me too.
I just know it was well above the hills.

None.
It was definitely in the sky.
I really thought it was a planet when I first got the camera out.

Wow, Gaboo, that streetlight in the second pic, the bulb is much higher than the hills. That can't be right.

It must be a UFO TOO!!!

i'm sorry, forked at fark, but gaboo totally pwned any remaining shread of potential credibility (sorry, there was none). if the pics he found were from the same window, you were just high and forgot about the street light or something.

good thing you didn't go running around outside in your underoos "chasing" it. when it moved, were you in a different room? ;)

Good to hear. I actually went and cleaned up my own settings, too. If you ever have anymore PS questions, the Photoshop & Audio Edit Forum ("PSAEF," thread 6) is full of PSers who love to answer technical questions.
