It's about time for Irvin to go. It always baffled me how ESPN, who is usually PR savvy, would have a crackhead as an analyst for one of it's flagship broadcasts.

Slightly offtopic...

but what the fark happend to Around the Horn and PTI?

ATH was tolerable, but PTI was great. I was shocked that NASCAR Now has taken the 4-5 (central) time slot. WTF? I miss PTI :(

From TFA:

One industry source believes the decision has already been made, and that some at the network view the outspoken Irvin as a ticking time bomb, ready to explode into a public-relations nightmare.

Ready
to explode?

FTA:Justin Smith's franchise tag and probable long-term return to the Bengals indicates that the defense will stay in a four-lineman scheme with three linebackers, instead of a switch to a three-lineman, four-linebacker set.

What kind of retarded statement is this? If I had to pick the biggest weakness of the Bengals defense, its the linebacker position (Odell Thurman suspended due to drugs, and Pollack, unfortunately, out for career due to injury didn't help the young core grow). Why in the hell would you consider switching to the 34 when you don't have a good LB core?

And the comment that the Browns would go after Schotty? Schotty to return to the Browns? I'll believe it when I see it. If Crennel is ousted next year, the Browns will heavily go after Cowher or OSU's Jim Tressel.

At first I was like who the hell was drunk or high enough to employ Michael Irvin at ESPN, but after watching him and at first cringing at his mannerisms I found his Irvinisms to be quite jovial, entertaining, and comforting. I like his unpredictable drivel, ex drug addict tics, and that glazed look in his eye that really puts the other stiffs around him at ease.

After much reflection I hope ESPN keeps him. Life is to bland as it is. Let him blow up!

According to their website, ESPN has canned Irvin.

I wonder he shows up next....back to Fox?

It will be a surprise to many in the league if the Broncos don't make a concerted run at Atlanta defensive end Patrick Kerney.

Would make me a happy man
