submitter: Batman Sighting Causes School Lockdown

One Kid Says Something About Seeing Batman And You Lock Down Three Schools? That Sounds Excessive.

Surely you know the (unwritten) rule regarding headlines :)

...a student at Desert Arroyo Middle School reported seeing a person dressed as Batman run across campus, jump a fence and disappear into the desert.

Police combed the desert around the middle school. A nearby elementary school and high school also were on lockdown as officers sought the caped crusader.

Awesome prank!

HERO tag would have been funny
STUPID tag would have been appropriate too.

A Batman sighting is no cause for alarm. But if it's a Joker or Penguin sighting, then that's when you call Police Commissioner Gordon.

Adam West is 78 I don't think he's jumping fences.

Everything about that article makes me happy. Everything except for the second sentance starting with the word "that".

That after a student at Desert Arroyo Middle School reported seeing a person dressed as Batman run across campus, jump a fence and disappear into the desert.

That's mysterious.
VERY mysterious.....

You know, even if there was someone dressed as Batman, is that reason to lock down three schools? A guy in tights? Sure, send the crossing guard our to look, but a lock down is way past excessive. And what would you charge the guy with if you caught him? I know in Boston it would be considered a hoax and he would get fined 2 million.

My freshman year of high school some kid let off a smoke bomb in the hallway the senior's last day, and I mean one of the TNT looking sticks of it. No lock downs, to evacuation, just a message saying that if a senior was responsible he would have to replace the tile before he could walk. We are a nation of sissies now.

Next week (same time, same channel) Batman will win back the trust of Scottsdale, Arizona, by foiling the school superintendent's plan to rob a bank using little kids who think they're on a field trip.
