McCain probaly asked his son to serve after seeing Moore's movie.

2007-02-14 05:00:09 PM
I don't think you can retroactively pWn Moore on that one, given his son was, what, 14 when it came out?

CHAZZZ: "McCain probaly asked his son to serve after seeing Moore's movie."

Oh, im SURE that McCain askes his son t serve AFTER seeing Moore's movie.

Why, Moore's movie probably INSPIRED McCain to ask his son to serve, otherwise he'd not think of that on his own.

McCain really needs to give thanks for showing him the direction in his son's life.

*reads TFA*

"Military service has been a way of life for John McCain's family. And as the GOP senator pushes to send more troops to Iraq, that commitment becomes clear: His 18-year-old son is among those about to ship out.

Publicly, McCain has said little about his son. He told Time magazine last summer that Jimmy was inspired to sign up because he had friends in the Marine Corps. The senator - the senior Republican on the Armed Services Committee - said he was no different than any other military dad. "Like every parent who has a son or daughter serving that way, you will have great concern, but you'll also have great pride."

... No. You are completely wrong. Better luck next time.

It said in the article his older brother is at Annapolis.

I think the author's right, he's joining the Marines (frontline rifleman, no less) to show off his manliness.

Hey, if John McCain was your dad, you'd probably have some daddy issues, too.

"Son, I didn't spend years in that VietCong prison camp to hear you complain about your chores--now get out there and mow the gotdamn lawn!"

This will be brought up repeatedly by McCain supporters next year in his candidacy.

That man (McCain senior) has balls bigger than just about anyone here. Now shut the fark up and get off his lawn.

You have to give both him and his son credit. I'm sure they're both aware how bad things are over there.

*Groan* What does this have to do with Micheal Moore?? Back on topic...soooo... McCain is "sending" his son, what, like federal express??? Its not like the kid decided to go himself??

from the GOP must mean something different to you article:

"Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., credits his nightly prayers with his son Perry's narrow escape from a mortar attack in Fallujah."

yup, it's not luck...God WAS going to kill your son but then you prayed and he was like "oh, okay, I won't kill that one"

I think what was keeping McCain's son from doing it when the movie came out was the fact that he was probably a freshman in HS at the time. I know we're looking for more troops now but I don't think they've gotten to the point of using pre-pubescent kids yet.

And yeah, the POW ribbon is one of those ribbons I'll be happy to never earn.

2007-02-14 07:04:00 PM
I just got a horrible feeling that this is all going to make a real crazy movie some day.

McCain is working on being like Strom Thurmond. This kid was born when McCain was 52! And he's got one younger, although that one was apparently adopted.

2007-02-14 07:06:04 PM
I'm still voting for Nader.

2007-02-14 07:06:52 PM
So, McCain is having his son defend Mexico? If McCain has his way, that is what we will become.
