How to join:

Go to http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto (or follow the thread link). Follow the instructions to create your entry. Once you have a team, go to http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto/register/createjoingroup and click on "Join Existing Group". On the next page, click on "Join a Private Group". The group ID # is 25692 and the password is "dukesucks" (one word, all lower case). If you follow these instructions correctly, you should be in the "Farkers" group.

How you select drivers:

Drivers are divided into three groups. The A list drivers are the top 10 drivers (the ones you'd expect to win a race or two), the B list drivers are the middle 18 or so drivers (the ones who do well at certain tracks but rarely win), and the C list drivers are everybody else (the rookies and the drivers who provided excellent on-board footage of a car crashing into a wall). Each week, you need to pick a team of 8 drivers -- 2 from the A list, 4 from the B list, and 2 from the C list. You can make all the changes you want up until Yahoo locks down the teams for the week (usually the day before qualifying). You can add and drop drivers as often as you like during the season.

How you score points:

In most weeks (except the Daytona 500 and rainouts), all 8 of your drivers are can earn bonus points if they are among the top four in qualifying. However, only four of your drivers (1 from the A list, 2 from the B list, and 1 from the C list) will earn you points during the race, based on where they finish, if they lead a lap, and if they lead the most laps. You can change which of your 8 drivers is in your starting lineup up until a few minutes before the race starts, so if somebody on your team has a horrible qualifying effort, you might want to switch them for a different driver on your team.

The catch:

There are 36 races, and you can't use any driver more than 9 times during the season. After that, you can't add that person back to your roster, and if he's on your roster and you don't drop him, he won't earn you any points. So, you need to pick a lot of different drivers over the course of the season if you want to have certain drivers left at the end.

I questioned that at first as well, you pick 8 for qualifying then 4 for the race itself. (no qualifying points at Daytona.)
