This is strange...I visited there in 1999 and everyone was talking about Herbalife at the time. It's like Amway and Tupperware (and Longaberger and Arbonne and Mary Kay) all rolled into one. Who says there are no pyramids in Iceland?

This is why I ingest only things that have been completely processed and don't have any natural ingredients at all.

Rob Cockerham of Cockeyed.com has done a fair amount of research on Herbalife business practices and the people who get sucked into all of it.

Very interesting read: http://www.cockeyed.com/workfromhome/workfromhome.html (pops)

How the hell does a poisonous herb spontaneously produce the hepatitis virus?
I think there was a bit of information lacking in that article. Although, it was an amusing read.

I lived in Iceland for a few years back in my teenage years. I must agree with you. Icelanders are freaking hot!

There have been a few people here in Norway who have tried to push that shiat on me. I wonder how they manage to sell anything at all when they're all this nasty sallow-pale color and they look anything but healthy...

Piece of information you are missing:
Not all hepatitis is viral.

2007-02-08 02:43:56 PM
You were on vacation last month and thought: "Ah, why bother to use a condom. It's not like I'm coming back to Haiti anytime soon."

2007-02-08 02:47:41 PM
Even better -- this Wikipedia entry on viral hepatitis:

Hepatitis E produces symptoms similar to hepatitis A, although it can take a fulminant course in some patients, particularly pregnant men

Personally, I think if a guy is pregnant, hepatitis is the least of his problems. Condoms, people!

Is she really saying that people are getting hep from contaminated supplements? That's pretty farked up. Is that even possible?

not all hepatitis is caused by a virus.

you can also get the same kind of disorder from other toxins.

2007-02-08 02:52:12 PM
Jument, people get hepatitis from Tylenol every day. Toxic substances go straight to your liver, and can do bad things there.

Jument:
Is she really saying that people are getting hep from contaminated supplements?

NO. The supplements are causing toxic liver damage - ie hepatitis. It's not like the viral hepatitis you get at TGI Friday's because some scuzzy guy in the kitchen bled into your shake.

2007-02-08 02:57:58 PM
If it's caused by toxins how can it be a disease? Wouldn't it just be some kind of poisoning then?

/confused

2007-02-08 02:59:49 PM
"Hepatitis" translates into English as "liver inflammation."

2007-02-08 03:02:36 PM
Because it hasn't been specified yet, Hepatitis by definition is inflammation and/or scarring of the liver.

I'll just stick to alcohol, at least it's fun while I dissolve my liver.
