"The ENV (Emissions Neutral Vehicle, envy for short) accelerates like a 125cc scooter. It's smooth and easy to control, will do 50mph and has a range of 100 miles."

You lost me at "like a 125cc scooter"
Make it "like a 650cc sport bike" and you've got yourself a sale.

They really shouldn't have put that into a bike frame at all. If it accelerates like a scooter, has a scooter's top speed...why not build it into a scooter? You'll do a lot more bidness since the scooter-folk are likely to be the environmental-folk in the first place.

I think they are actually powering this bike on FARK greenlights. This is what, 12, 13 times we've read about this?

well, yes, chechcal, FARK repeats are a great untapped source of renewable energy.

Loud pipes. Yeah.

I swear, one of these days I'm going to buy myself a semi auto paintball rifle. Hang it right on my balcony.

Next time some prick with straight pipes comes roaring along the street downstairs, he gets a surprise.

/it's really just so tempting
//ricers with fartcan mufflers too...hey buddy, spent so much on your oversized muffler that you forgot to paint your body kit? I can help, hold still you little bastard...

More like loud pipes make me want to shove a piece of reebar in the spokes of the a-holes who like to sit outside my building and rev their engines. Say what you want about that 150 Db monstrosity keeping you safe on the road, we all know it's BS. Just admit that you all like being pricks.

Yes, you have a motorcycle. We're all so very, very impressed.

dnrtfa .But they had to invent a muffler that made noise for the unit, due to the risk of some a-hole in a car crashing into the unit.

$200 worth of car audio equipment (200 watt head and 3-way speakers) Defeats loud pipes EVERY DAY.

/I won't hear you until I've already hit you.
//Bonus: those "rockin out" to music are more distracted... further precipitating a collision.

FTFA The only noise is from the tyres and the wind whistling through your crash helmet. People don't look around as you approach - they just stare after you've gone past.

Submitter can die in a fiery car crash caused by an inatentive asshat behind a wheel.

xalres: the a-holes who like to sit outside my building and rev their engines.

They'd sit outside your house with a loud car, loud stereo, or loud whateverthehelltheycangettheirhandson to be loud asshats if they didn't have bikes.

Loud pipes are just a way fark tards can set off a parking lot full of cars that are alarmed at 3am.

If loud pipes save lives, show me the studies that prove it is so.

/ Just saw an asshat on a 400dB Harley get hit by a jackass with a fartcan and a primer paint job
// farking funny that the Harley guy couldn't even lift his bike

Its funny that in the entire Wiki entry on motorcycle safety there is not one single mention of noise/loud pipes/etc at all. And most of the studies linked all concerned visibility. Interesting that turning your damn headlights on and wearing brighter clothing will drastically reduce the odds of a motorcyclist being in a collision.

The difference being that bikers are the only ones that claim their loud whateverthehelltheycangettheirhandson are a safety feature, when the reality is just like the attention, negative or positive.

/I need my 2300 watt stereo, coffee can exhaust and ground effects so other people will notice me on the road. It keeps me safe.
//Can't say I've heard that claim yet.

Loud pipes might save lives. But it's not a straight gain. The amount of safety you get per DB goes down as the total DB increases.
Thus you are much safer with a 60DB pipe than a 0DB pipe, a little safer with a 100DB pipe than a 60, and not much safer with a 400 than a 100.

So at some point (I'm guessing 100db or so) you don't really get much more safety from the sound.

You may be answered with a semi-auto leadball pistol. if you are going to try and kill someone, do it right or don't do it at all.

This is anecdotal, but in the 9 months I had stock pipes on my HD I had three people pull out in front of me. In the 3 years I've had screamin' eagles on there, not once.

I don't regularly carry a gun while riding, but I agree with NoGods. If someone intentionally struck me with a projectile while I was on my bike I would immediately do everything within my power to kill them. Then I would either plea self defense or insanity, because striking a motorcyclist with any projectile is ATTEMPTED MURDER.
