packers in 2007: 5-11 with favre throwing 19 picks

2007-02-02 12:17:30 PM
I'd take a bullet in the junk for Brett Favre.

2007-02-02 12:17:39 PM
Oh, pop a few painkillers and get back to the game, Favre.

Cripes.

2007-02-02 12:17:51 PM
Only 19?

2007-02-02 12:18:06 PM
Favre should move back to Kiln, and play backup QB to Brees.

2007-02-02 12:18:12 PM
And another year of the Packers unable to rebuild.

2007-02-02 12:18:24 PM
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

2007-02-02 12:18:35 PM
Aw Cruise, not this shiat again.

That guy needs to get over himself and let the Packers start rebuilding with a new quarterback.

2007-02-02 12:18:40 PM
Hate the pack.Love favre.But enough is enough.Bears 31-colts 17.

My prediction on this weekend's game. Packers 178, the bears -8.

2007-02-02 12:19:09 PM
Brett, this is your last chance. All the teams have decided that they will let the Packers win next year, so you can stop with this bullshiat.

Unable to rebuild? Yeah, I'd much rather spend a wasted year watching the much improving team flounder under the brittle Aaron Rodgers.

This is farking great.

I'm a Packer fan, and I cannot yet imagine watching them without #4. Great for the Pack, great for Wisconsin, great for the NFL.

Welcome back, Brett!

I was the thread submitter. i tried with the originating story from the Mississippi newspaper where he decided to make the announcement, but it was already taken, so I had to resubmit with the packersnews site.

here's the original article:

Yes, this will be Brett's year. He will break pretty much all of the records and be able to rightly retire as the undisbuted top of the record books.

/in the school that doesn't buy Brett's "I don't care about records" line

This kicks some serious ass.

2007-02-02 12:26:19 PM
wo0t!
Can't stand people who compare peyton manning to brett.
Packer's team is rebuilding.. with Favre at the helm.. To say anything else is pure idiocy.
We were the youngest team in the NFL last year, and we did pretty well by that standard, beating some tough teams.

as far as picks go... the greatest QBs of all time, the ones with the most touchdowns, were also the ones with the most picks.

/go pack!

2007-02-02 12:27:59 PM
They might be in the Super Bowl, but the Bears Still Suck!

2007-02-02 12:28:04 PM
The idiots who want Favre to retire should remember one thing. You're not going to let anyone tell you when to quit your job, so stop telling him when to quit his. BTW, he's still a top 10 QB in this league and with the right coaching and surrounding personnel he could be top 5.

THe dude still has his fastball, so to speak. He's barely lost anything on his throws and his judgement has been shaky because he's getting bad coaching and has bad surrounding players.

STFU haters, just remember you wouldn't let anyone tell you when to hang it up so telling someone else when to is just laughably stupid.

2007-02-02 12:28:29 PM
Well that's one more year of not worrying about the Packers going to the Super Bowl.

What a dick.

I feel sorry for my Packer fan friends.

$20 bucks says that you'll love him if they get to the Superbowl next year. Just sayin'.

i'm an eagles fan. i barely like the eagles. i despise St. Brett. if his last name were manning and he were doing this badly, he would have been pulled in game 1.

2007-02-02 12:29:49 PM
The Packers are better with him than they are without him.

What should they do? Kick him out and draft Brady Quinn or JaMarcus Russell?

Aaron Rodgers was able to play two snaps before breaking his foot.

2007-02-02 12:30:56 PM
his judgement has been shaky because he's getting bad coaching and has bad surrounding players

nonsense. his judgement is shaky because he makes bad decisions and overcompensates for declining abilities. he's washed up.

2007-02-02 12:32:00 PM
Aaron Rodgers should be cut on principle. Even if he ends up being a successful quarterback, the Packers can't replace an eternal iron man like Brett with a guy who breaks his foot two plays into his first real game.

2007-02-02 12:32:15 PM
Why is everyone hating on Farve. I mean is your QB of the future even going to have that broken foot healed by next year. Sure two years ago he threw alot of picks but I'd like to know how many of those bounced off of the shiatty receivers or were thrown to a blown route.

What did i say about comparing to manning....

2007-02-02 12:33:53 PM
Albo, what particular ability is declining? The only ability a QB really needs is the ability to throw the ball, and if you watched Favre at all last year you'd see that he still has one of the best arms in the NFL.

He was always a gunslinger, and Holmgren was able to keep that in check and use it to get them to win.

He's certainly not washed up. Give me 10-12 QB's you'd rather have than Favre.

2007-02-02 12:34:21 PM
I am praying that the Packers' general management will take advantage of at east another chance under Brett and buy hom a farking receiver. If Brett had one more viable weapon in addition to Driver this past year, they would have been contenders.

What did i say about comparing to manning....

okay, if his name were anything but favre, he'd have been pulled and benched and the packers would start rebuilding with a young QB, ala dallas, tampa bay, tennessee, etc. his staying at GB hurts the team by prolonging their slide until they can rebuild while he props up his ego.
