Headley campaigned on a promise to aggressively go after drug dealers in Williamson County.

To be honest he did go after them...and bought drugs from them when he found them. What's all this fuss about?

Suckit hill-billy cop!

FTFA: "good, old-fashioned, hometown values". Who says drug use isn't a good old-fashioned, hometown value? Bootlegging is quite old-fashioned and hometown.

From the article comments:

Ballad of Ricky Headley

Come and listen to a story 'bout a man named Rick
He had thousands of pills cause he said that he was sick
Then one day he was cruising up to buy
And out from the bushes popped the TBI!
(Heroes that is, backy chawin' heehaws, th' Barney Boys)

Well the first thing you know old Ricks down in the clink
Kin folk ain't a'talkin - they just give a little wink
Cause Rick's got some buddies at the courthouse, doncha know
Who can smooth this whole thing over for the right amount of dough
(Green dough that is, same color as Lortabs)

Well now it's time to say goodbye to Rick and all his thugs
They'd like to thank you folks for dropping by to buy your drugs
You're all invited down to shop in charming Williamson
Score some pills and snort some meth and have a lot of fun
(Y'all come back now, ya hear?)

Wait, he didn't actually say "Drug down on CRACK!", did he?

He's goddamned lucky he isn't being prosecuted in his own county. Those bastards are ruthless. He'll get a much better deal in Nashville.

I've got a novel idea: Free the convicts and lock up the cops. Of course, crime won't go down, but government-sanctioned extortion will.

If you think the cops are crooks in TN, you should meet the general populace.

If this guy doesn't get a pardon, then I've lost all faith in the corruption of politicians that we've grown to love.

"He played music from The Andy Griffith Show at his swearing in ceremony and invited those who attended to supper."

Sounds like he was looking to smoke some Opie!

/not my joke

"Headley liked to play up his image as a small-town sheriff. He played music from The Andy Griffith Show at his swearing in ceremony and invited those who attended to supper.

He told the crowd that "good, old-fashioned, hometown values" still mattered."

Reminds me of that episode where Barney went over to Mount Pilate to worship Satan.

Unless I'm missing something (which is very possible), the article doesn't say anything at all about extra jail time for crooked cops.

Too bad, that's probably the one law we actually need. The rest of the time, lawmakers should be concentrating on repealing laws we shouldn't have/no longer need.

from sheriffs website-under ---find it yourself..

Under Sheriff Headley's leadership, the Williamson County Sheriff's Office has become a modern, proactive and professional Law Enforcement Agency. The department is recognized not only as one of the best in Tennessee but the entire nation.

Now what am I gonna do???huh -huh?
