I'm very happy for this couple and hope they do well and contribute to society the way its generation always has - not like the greedy boomers that followed. A WWII vet like him deserves it.

There are better tanks to buy. Might even be cool to get a Thompson or BAR (and I don't care for guns).

Yet, I'd figure this guy is probably done with WW2. Time for hot young babes.

Ummm not to be a stickler for details, but didn't he already contribute to your society's freedom?

Well, it'd keep me off his damn lawn.

Well done sir, thank you for your service, and sorry that the reward was so late in coming.

/Don't mess with WWII vets. They deserve all the respect we can give them. All the other honorable veterans deserve it.
//Even in Depends, WWII veterans are tougher than almost all of you (myself included) will ever be. Thank god they were.

From TFA: Wilson and his incredibly lucky wife, Shirley, 79, have three incredibly lucky grown sons, James, 59, William, 54, and Terril, 53,

For that price, he should be able to get a used Chieftain, which would probably be a better buy than any of the Patton models.

Really. Grown, you say. The father's 84, and not Larry King.

/would be cool if he had a daughter who was my wife, and terminally ill unless she was bisexual, but thin either way, though not too thin.

Don't you love how his kids automatically say that the ticket only cost "them" $1 each? As I read it, the old man bought the whole ticket, and as lottery winners go, it won't be long before he tells them all to fark off and runs off with a Playboy bunny. Everyone dies, but the rich die with a smile!

Sooo...can any of you military history nerds tell me why Leslie McNair was a prick and what that had to do w/the Pershing?

Not sure, other than than the U.S. doctrine that tanks should not fight tanks (hence the tank destroyers), and the Pershing was not particularly speedy for "breakouts", which was what the U.S. decreed tanks were for.

But I can tell you that McNair died in a misdropped U.S. bombing raid.

You know who also contributed to that generation? Nazis. I respect his service, but you are just being a twit. I bet some WWII gen guy complained about the young snots that were nothing like the fellows he knew in the civil war.

As so the cry "get off my lawn" echoes down the ages from one superior generation to their punk descendants.

I think ANY one who helps animals is deserving, not just the ones in WWII.
