Around 6 or so and 175? Obviously not exactly huge. There are plenty of small guys with degrees in kicking ass.

Nice green light. Talk about late news. This happened EIGHT MONTHS AGO in May of 2006!

Hey, I know a lot of you homebodies who haven't ever been to a nightclub are saying, "Hey, man, that's what you get for farking with a bouncer". But aside from the fact that there is no bouncer on earth who should be carrying a firearm on the job, you people don't know what it's like to get thrown out of a nightclub. Especially when it's FOR NO GOOD REASON. (Example: girl starts to flirt with you. You respond by flirting back. Jealous and insane ex-boyfriend suddenly and unexpectedly shows up. They disappear. Two minutes later, bouncer shows up out of nowhere and tells you that you've got to go, and you can't tell your friends or even finish your $15 drink.)

It's incredibly frustrating, and it's an asinine act to put up with. Even a little taunting and shiat-talking in return is no comfort in that situation... it simply sucks to have a night interrupted like that.

And if it's because you're drunk, well guess what - the place had no problem selling you the booze in the first place. You should be escorted out, but some level of dignity should be maintained. Bouncers should keep their mouths shut when ejecting rowdy patrons. Ego should never come into play. Two wrongs don't make a right. I say this because so many bouncers get into legitimate situations where we would understand why they get rowdy and belligerent with customers, but it often encourages bouncers to bring that level of behavior to all their interactions.

I'd heard about this story before (I live in NYC) but didn't know it went down like this. I thought the shootings occurred in a much more volatile and confusing situation, but it really looks like this guy just followed a couple of dudes out of the club, away from his assigned post, and executed them in the street. (The fact that they all didn't die has nothing to do with it, it's attempted murder x 3 plus an actual homicide, which means he shouldn't see the light of day again) It's a really farked up story.

It probably didn't. If you live here you should know that the Post should not be the first source for accurate news.

anniemyk33: this just proves once again that 99% of black guys are pathetic farkin pussies. this biatch could have just let these guys leave or since he's supposed to be a some kind of a tough guy he could have fought a couple of them. remember if a black guy ever starts talking like he's tough or tries to intimidate you in any way just start beating the shiat out of them and try to knock them out quick because about 75% of them have guns.

I think this proves that you are scared of black men.

Great job... you just proved (once again) that 97.2% of people living in Philadelphia are functionally illiterate.

Oh, and as stated before it is really weird living your life in East New York and getting shot in Chelsea.

ayesee: Guns and easy access to them cause violence, right? That must be why there have been so many murders at gun shows. That must also explain the outrageous number of school shootings in the 40's, 50's, and 60's, when guns were easily available at hardware stores, gas stations, by mail order, etc.
-----------------
Are you sure there weren't school shootings in the 50's?

There were. Lots of them. It's just that they didn't make the national news because the internets hadn't been invented yet.

I'll bet you think there's a "hug problem" with teenage pregnancies these days, and and those girls in the 50s really were just going to live with their aunt for a year.

"second generation colombians"

Wow! So since my pops is colombian and from the 'old country' I guess that makes me a second generation type.

Some of that yummy northern we aren't racist but we really are crap that tends to tick me off.

Why not say crazy spook offed a couple of spics?

Bouncers, who generally cannot get any other job, are always like this. I was a manager at pat obriens in new orleans an d every now and then we had a bouncer who was a little crazy like this and we had to tone them down, or get rid of them.

Parceros Luchadores, is loosely translated as partners(compatrtiots) in the struggle. Good name for a band.

Before reggaeton sucked the life out of latin music(thank you puerto rico, we owe you for salsa, but reggateon is like bryan adams) there was a lot of positive latin hip hop. ALT, Mellowman Ace, Kid Frost, even Dj Laz.

If this would have happened in Colombia, the guy would make it to prison. But the familys would have had some take care of it.

The killer didn't start it. He did finish it.

Sounds like he's had a few people start stuff with him over the years that he's needed to finish.

I'm all for it.

Excellent post, theflatline. You accuse the writer of being racist for doing nothing more than mentioning the ethnicity of the victims. It was not mentioned in any sort of a deragatory fashion. Ethnicity was relevant to the story, as the victims were there specifically as part of a Colombian musical group. You then go on to characterize your own people as violent, vengeful types. You sir, just pwned yourself. Asshat.

"But aside from the fact that there is no bouncer on earth who should be carrying a firearm on the job"

-- Agreed

"Two minutes later, bouncer shows up out of nowhere and tells you that you've got to go, and you can't tell your friends or even finish your $15 drink"

-- Ex must have been a friend of bouncer or an employee. Do I agree with what he did? No. Will it happen anyway if it's a good friend of the bouncer or an employee? Yea. Is any amount of complaining going to fix it? Nope. Would you really want to date a girl who has an ex that is that crazy?

"And if it's because you're drunk, well guess what - the place had no problem selling you the booze in the first place."

-- Yea we have no problem selling it to you. Not our fault if you drink 12 of them and become beligerent. Know your limit, we're not going to follow you around all night with a sippy cup and count how many you've had. Bring your mother next time if you can't handle your liquor.

"You should be escorted out, but some level of dignity should be maintained. Bouncers should keep their mouths shut when ejecting rowdy patrons. Ego should never come into play. Two wrongs don't make a right."

-- Dignity? Yea. But most people who NEED to be shown out or sent home are usually so plastered that they are obnoxiously rude to other patrons, staff, and often times very physical. Do my coworkers and I brush off "fark you", "fark your mother", etc.? Of course. We smile and say have a good night sir, be safe. But the minute you become physical, it is perfectly within our right to make sure you do not harm the patrons or staff on your way to the door. Does that mean clubbing your over the head? No. But is it fair to restrain you as we escort you out? Absolutely. You forgo dignity and discreetness once you cross the physical line. It's a simple rule to follow in any bar: LEAVE YOUR ATTITUDE AT THE DOOR. That goes for staff and patrons alike. People go to a bar to be friendly, relax, and enjoy themselves.

The most common thing that starts a fight or altercation at a bar is spilling a drink, tripping/bumping into someone, and/or hitting on their significant other. You need to be a little more polite when you go into a large crowd where alcohol is involved. Anybody learns this if you've been to a bar. Drinks will get spilled....apologize and offer to buy them a beer if you ruined their shirt. It's crowded.....people will stumble once in a while......apologize and excuse yourself. And you might accidentally hit on someone's girlfriend while the guy is in the can....if she doesn't say anything...apologize and convey that you were unaware. Those three simple things can prevent a majority of altercations.

Now....if a guy is just an a-hole and looking around for someone to get into a rumble with, find a member of the staff and inform them you are being harassed and we'll take care of it. Erupting into a brawl neither proves your manliness, nor does it solve the problem. That's what we're there for, use us.

Anyway, about the article: The bouncer is clearly a psychotic freak and should be locked away. Did the victims try to provoke the bouncers? Apparently so. Should the bouncer have reacted? Absolutely not. Ignoring it is the best thing you can do. I often chat up patrons as they wait to get inside (we admit based on capacity, not perceived "coolness" as alot of major clubs do), but if they are going to be assholes, I just ignore them and chat up someone else, or a staff member.

Anyway, thought I'd put in a good word for bouncers, since there are SOME of us that are friendly and efficient about our jobs.

/Bouncer....obviously
//excuse the typos, trying to do too many things at once

I mean we're there to prevent that situation. Haha, sorry. That makes it seem like I imply we're there to start riots.

What I can't stand in clubs is people who enter an already jam-packed dance floor, and keep crashing into you as if you weren't there.

Yeah dude, we see you, we can't move any more for you, and you continously throwing elbows two inches from me isn't impressing me or doing a damn thing other than maxing out my adrenaline state. You finally connect with me or one of my friends and you're going to really wish you'd just been cool.

/hate club dickwads that don't even get it.

Oh you're a bouncer? Would you mind posting a brief essay describing your job? Also, how do you think bar patrons should behave? Thanks.

You know, I lived in NYC for a good long time, DJed in many a club, and you know the only clubs that had these problems were the rap/hip-hop/etc clubs.

There was one club where I used to DJ that had a bad reputation for their bouncers being over aggressive and tossing people around ( usually out the door ) ... but no one was ever shot, stabbed, gang-beaten, etcoontil it closed down and re-opened as a hip hop club. After the conversion I used to ride by that club every Friday night on my way to a different club and see cops outside and read about it the next day.

So Im reading this article about some blah blah gonna be sumptin rap group going to a night club and someone saying something and the next thing you know it's guns and bodybags. Well what did you expect? You don't eneter into a musical genre infamous for gun violence and death with expectations of anything less. At best you can write a "song" about how you were the "toughest and the baddest" because you survived the "strap bein' laid down" and make a few million. It still won't change what happened that night.

No one deserves to be killed like that, much less for nothing more than a stray comment, but it's no surprise that it happened.

Sad story. And almost as sad are those in this thread defending the psycho bouncer with three more murder raps under investigation. All the internet tough guys with the "don't start none, won't be none" attitude.

One of the victims of the attack was stone sober and they were musicians. Whatever little wiseass comments they made are sooooooooo far from justifying following them out onto the street and pulling a piece. They obviously noticed how tightly this psycho was wound, they just didn't realize it was to the point of homicidal rage. I really really hope Sakai says the "wrong thing" to his cellmate.
