Yeah, I went on a binge and aquired all of his videos, something like 225 of them. Whenever I feel angry at the world, I just watch one of them, and it all melts away.

If someone told me that he was the most recent incarnation of the Buddha, I would certainly agree.

That intro song was the pure essence of relaxation.

My wife had a scheduled c-section, it was supposed to be at 9:00 a.m. but got delayed, so she had to lay in bed, all pregnant and mad, with IVs stuck in her arm and monitors hooked up etc.

Desperate to come up with a way to calm her, I turned on the TV and there was Bob Ross, painting happy little trees.

Calmed her right down until the surgery at 3:00. Thanks Bob!

Bass O Matic: //wishes PBS would bring back his show

Call and ask them for it. It is in syndication.

Its on every saturday here still. WCET doesn't carry it but KET (for you bluegrass dwellers.. and us here in eastern Cincinnati) does.

Schedule. (p)

Running a-puck: Has anyone _ever_ heard anyone say anything wrong about Bob?

Yes, but I hang out with art school students who have the prententious attitude that "broad stroke" and using your edged tools is cheating and weak.. But a quick KHITBASH usually shuts her or him up.

/Yes I said that too. He's an art school student.. he probably has a box right?

I'm a student at Ball State University, which houses the PBS station where Bob Ross initially taped his show. One of my professors was the producer who brought Ross on board. My prof told us in class one day that the station was going to charge Ross three hundred dollars an episode to tape his show. Ross asked my prof if the station would be willing to cover part of the $300 cost in exchange for a future share of the syndication revenue of the show. My prof was willing to do it, but the higher-ups in the station refused the arrangement. If they had done it, the station would continue to be earning a few happy million dollars every year in syndication revenue. Instead, they get jack.

Does anyone else get nervous when Bob, seemingly close to finishing a nice painting, suddenly paints broad, dark strokes for another tree, etc.?

What's a original Bob Ross painting go for?

How cool would that be to have one of those on your wall?

I'm surprised nobody's done Photoshopped his pet squirrel into the FARK squirrel... (that's a challenge!)

My mom paid about 250 for hers at a show, but that was in the 70's.

No clue what they go for now.

I cant watch that without thinking about the episode of Boondocks where Riley goes to a painting tutor who resembles Bob Ross.

/Searching Gotube now..

I used to watch this show all the time when I was a kid with my grandma. We were always in awe how he could turn a blank canvas until a gorgeous picture.
