Looks like Philly postponed their annual postseason bow-out by one week.

2007-01-07 08:07:02 PM
Geez, hard to tell which team wanted that game less.

I predicted it would be a 3 point game decided on who got the last field goal. Philly got lucky. Doesn't matter either way since the Saints will eat them alive and the Bears would have taken out the Giants easily.

Hey Fox, I'd like analysis and wrap-up of today's playoff game, not shameless whoring for the fake-ass "championship" game tomorrow.

Great feeling that my team won tonight, but feel bad that Tiki had to end his career on a loss.

2007-01-07 08:09:37 PM
And thus finally ends the most miserable Giants season I've ever experienced.

The Giants managed to waste Tiki's three most prolific years and somehow became the new Oakloand Raiders in terms of lack of discipline and stupidity.

Fire Tom and for Gods sake get someone on defense who doesn't think that every offensive Giants score is a free pass to let the other team get points back immediately.

Good job Eagles.

Here's hoping the Saints drop 60 on you next week.

2007-01-07 08:13:43 PM
oh my god, I can't wait till next Sunday. I don't care if the Bears lose, I still have "24" to fall back on

2007-01-07 08:14:57 PM
I don't know why people are saying the saints are a lock next week... I don't care if the eagles were lucky to beat an 8-8 team at home by the skin of their teeth (which they were)... next week's game has 04 chargers-versus-jets written ALL OVER IT.

...and the Giants were right on time.

You guys played good, we'll get blown out by the Saints next week, all will be right with the world. Relax.

I am looking forward to the NFC Championship game that is a rematch of 2001 when the Eagleths come back to Soldier Field. The Bears owe them thumbthing. Unfortunately for Garthia, he'th going to get the brunt of it.

/yeah, I know. Another week has to be played first
//Predicting: Bears, Eagles wins. If that wasn't obvious

2007-01-07 08:58:55 PM
Philly got lucky.

thats funny, it could have been that your defense couldnt stop a damn thing in the second half....but i dont know maybe thats just me, espn, nfl network, fox and anyone else discussing the game.

Because New Orleans beat Philly already, and that's when the Saints were still gelling and Philadelphia was 4-1 with McNabb kicking ass all over everyone, prompting a wave of "this is the year" sentiments, and now the Saints have been kicking ass and Philadelphia's still really really really weak at defending the run, something New Orleans has a few good weapons at doing?

/whew

why do the iggles play sunday/saturday, and the seahawks saturday/sunday?

you see that. I see the young team with virtually no playoff experience (save their QB, who has one whole game), the rookie head coach, and the burdens of high expectations that come with being the favorite to get to the super bowl... versus the team with the boatload of playoff experience, one of the game's great coaches and the sense of "playing with house money."

The eagles had their worst game since the colts game, and thank god we still won.

can't afford that against the saints at all, but hey we bounced back from the loss against the colts. so if we bounce back now we will win 5 straight no problem....

Andy Reid, one of the game's great coaches...

Heh...

See you next week, hap.

"Actually, the it's Teal they wear...which is blue-ish!"

they don't wear teal. the Panthers wear teal. the Seahawks wear blue.

Looks like I missed some good football this weekend. It would have been priceless to be in a bar full of Dallas fans when Romo muffed the snap. That's what happens when you start believing your own press, I guess.

"Bitter Bill Frist always puts a smile on my face."

It's funny that the weakest team he thought made the playoffs won (although he claims they didn't deserve to win) while his team, the actual weakest team, lost.

And Dallas was the second weakest. In fact, I'd say the seedings in the NFC were exactly correct. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say after all the crazy upsets over the regular season, the postseason is going to be completely vanilla and the higher seed will always win.

/except Chicago
//go Hawks!
///and if Chicago can't beat Seattle with their random people who live in Seattle playing as their secondary, then Rex is who we thought he is. Crown his ass!

Sorry I couldn't account for a botched snap catch by Tony Romo. Seahawks should have lost, they certainly played worse than the cowboys, but c'est la vie.

Sports aren't fair and worse teams win on a regular basis.

"Sorry I couldn't account for a botched snap catch by Tony Romo. Seahawks should have lost, they certainly played worse than the cowboys, but c'est la vie."

Yup, gaining more yards than a team and stopping them over and over again means you played worse than them. Dallas was lucky to be in it, thanks to a KR for a TD. their offense couldn't do shiat against the people Seattle brought in from the street to play defense. And Dallas got burned on defense despite two of our top receivers being injured in the game.

More yards + more TOP + more points = worse? good logic.

//even had they made the FG, Josh Brown would've kicked the game winner for Seattle ;)

2007-01-08 02:06:19 AM
When the difference in points is one (and would have been negative 2 if not for a freak occurance) and the difference in yards is fairly low, I don't think you can trot those out as proof of much.

Barring a few horrible mistakes, I thought the Cowboys outplayed the Seahawks (as did almost every comentator I saw or heard during play)... but not necessarily by that much.

And I don't think I ever said the Seahawks were teh worst team in the playoffs. I said they played the worst during the regular season. They lost a whopping four games to under .500 teams. Did any other playoff team do close to that? Giants lost to none, Eagles lost to one, Cowboys lost to two....

If they weren't in the worst division in the NFL, they wouldn't have made it to the playoffs at all.

2007-01-08 02:16:37 AM
the distinction between being the worst and playing the worst being that I acknoweldge all the injuries the Seahawks had
