This is getting out of control. Here is what they SHOULD do. Put him in one of those tube things and put it under ground, at his grave site.

2002-07-25 03:15:49 PM
yea .. stupid biatches.. do what the great man wants

2002-07-25 03:19:19 PM
That's cool your dad has an autographed ball of him, Drew, but don't let John Henry Williams find out about it, or he'll want his cut.

The note:
"JHW, Claudia and Dad all agree to be put into bio-stasis after we die. This is what we want, to be able to be together in the future, even if it is only a chance. We also want some sharks with fricking lasers on them."

2002-07-25 03:20:57 PM
We should come up with a bar drink for this fiasco.

2002-07-25 03:21:20 PM
Why don't they compromise? Buy a really big casket, drop him in, fill it up with dry ice and then plant him.

The best of both worlds.

Sheesh, do I have to think of everything?

2002-07-25 03:21:59 PM
Were they on fire when they wrote that??? Why is it torched??

2002-07-25 03:22:01 PM
Hahaha yeah right what judge is going to believe this?

And if they signed this that long ago, why didn't they bother to file an amendment to the will or at least get this notarized?

And why does it look like an 8-year-old wrote it?

2002-07-25 03:22:09 PM
What the hell kind of date is "H-2-00"?

2002-07-25 03:22:30 PM
WAIT! I see the face of Christ in that paper!

Oil stains?

2002-07-25 03:25:17 PM
Is there anyone besides Drew, sportswriters and Ted Williams' son and daughter who care even a whit about whether Ted Williams wanted to be frozen? Or creamated? Or blasted into outer space? Or sold for spare parts?

i can forge signatures to...

but really.. why the hell is it BURNED???

Ted Williams was a fantastic baseball player, but a little too in love with himself. One time, he wanted to sell my grandfather some shotguns, so my grandfather went over to his house. Ted ran a video recorder as he showed my grandfather the guns, describing each one, and talking about their history, etc. They were pretty nice guns, but Ted wanted about four times as much as they were worth. When my grandfather declined to buy them, Ted got pissed off and just left the room without another word. My grandfather still has the tape.

2002-07-25 03:27:57 PM
Look I have a document that has his signature that says I should get his body-- oh and all of his money. We wrote it on this baseball. See look it has his signature. And I have another one that says the same thing written on a picture of him too. What the ink of the signature is different then the rest of it? um-oh the one pen he used to sign his name ran out of ink.

Don't make me get out the trust that is written on a baseball bat.

Is there anyone besides Drew, sportswriters and Ted Williams' son and daughter who care even a whit about whether Ted Williams wanted to be frozen? Or cremated? Or blasted into outer space? Or sold for spare parts?

2002-07-25 03:28:27 PM
Sure, what a completely logical thing to do. It rings suspciously of 'Dear Teacher - Please excuse Johnny for not having his homework. His dog ate it."

This just proved that Ted Williams was a robot. That's why they don't want to cremate him - because they can't. It also explains the oil stains, and his career nickname - "Ted 'The Robot' Williams".

2002-07-25 03:28:52 PM
If Ted Williams' autograph or name is worthless, would his children even bother?

2002-07-25 03:31:11 PM
Does he have a signature on his other ball?

2002-07-25 03:34:57 PM
To everyone who wants to freeze themselves:

Quit being such a baby and die like the rest of us.

2002-07-25 03:36:42 PM
Oil stains? They had a tender moment and signed this while fixing the car?

2002-07-25 03:37:44 PM
From what I've heard on local radio here in Boston, John Henry Williams could sign his fathers name exactly. Just makes ya think...

2002-07-25 03:38:20 PM
I could be wrong, but isnt it Cryo-stasis?

I'll make sure to piss on your grave in 3000 years.

Cheers!

2002-07-25 03:43:44 PM
I bet Drew and his dad wrote the note then copied the signature from the ball....nice try Drew and Dad, but we're onto you!!

2002-07-25 03:48:12 PM
Anyone can forge signatures. Don't you people watch The Agency on CBS?

2002-07-25 03:50:23 PM
I'm with Big Boa on that thought. Drew, you admitted your dad has the signature...c'mon, fess up...

2002-07-25 03:52:47 PM
Does anyone think it's a little suspicious that this note shows up now? I mean, this whole debate has only been going on for weeks now, and they're just now getting around to showing off this "note"?

Which tender moment was the cause of this?

Oil stains?

Well that would be quite a feat because:

1. My body will be cremated when I die
2. In 3000 years, no one is going to give a flying fark about your frozen carcass

The sentiment is appreciated though!

2002-07-25 04:10:46 PM
Just because there was a tender moment in which TW may have hoped to be brought back to life in order to be with his children again, doesn't mean his son is suppossed to sell the DNA of his frozen popsicle.

Popsicle. Ha. Bet you haven't heard that one yet. Whatevah!

2002-07-25 04:36:42 PM
Bet he signed the paper thinking it was an autograph then his son wrote the rest on top LOL

2002-07-25 04:38:46 PM
It's terrible, the way you're all making fun of a poor dead guy who is currently upside-down in an aluminum dewar with his head in a bucket of liquid nitrogen. (True!) You all should be ashamed...

...no, on second thought, that is ridiculous. Carry on.

2002-07-25 04:39:26 PM
Well that convinces me. Jeez, what kind of morons are these people? Yeah, I know. First class.

2002-07-25 04:42:29 PM
Is Drews dad going to start posting?

2002-07-25 04:44:16 PM
I'll bet Ted could still hit .285 with 22 hrs. from that frozen dewar.

2002-07-25 04:56:57 PM
What if your body 'cuts one' while they're freezing you?
Can happen. Dead bodies release gas.
Does the dead fart bubble up and freeze with you?
Does it defrost and nail the tecnician thawing you out 3,000 years later?
Enquiring minds want to know.

2002-07-25 06:00:59 PM
It's a well known fact in the autograph world that John Henry can and has forged his father's signature. At this point, it means squat!

2002-07-25 06:05:49 PM
hey, Caitiff...am i imagining things, or are you stealing my "I'll piss on your grave in X years [if and when I am revived from biostasis/cryostasis]"? I have been using that line on Net sheep for years. But what the heck, if you really are a cryonicist, you are welcome to it. And we can both wake up with old Ted and hit a few a balls [if and when cryonics works].

As for the sheep who said something about how we cryonicists should just give it up and die like everyone else: cram it! with prejudice....

2002-07-25 07:56:40 PM
God it's so farking obvious, and I don't even have kids:

The kid heard about bio-stasis on the street, came home, told Dad about it all excited, Dad tries to shut her up saying "ok ok I'll do it, go write a contract or something."

So she did, and when she returned with it, she was twice as annoying as before so he signed it just to shut her up.

Then he threw matches at her.

I do care, but I don't know if I am a son of Drew, Ted Williams or a sportswriter.

2002-07-25 08:59:49 PM
Is "Dad" a legally acceptable substitute for "Ted Williams" in a contract?

2002-07-25 09:03:03 PM
Very funny Jersey Tim.

I have a question though, I haven't really been keeping up with all of this and I don't know a lot about bio-stasis, but...

If you want to be put into suspended animation in order to live in the future, wouldn't you have to be put into bio-stasis before you die? I mean frozen or not, you're still dead and have weird liquid in your veins instead of blood. I might be confusing two different things here.
